  • 'Krrish 3' Strikes Gold, earns Rs.72.7 Crore in Three Days

Krrish 3, starring Hrithik Roshan, has struck the right chord with the audience and is reaping rich dividends at the box office - it did a business of Rs.72.7 crores within the first three days of its release. The superhero sci-fi is still counting.

The figure includes collections from the Tamil and Telugu dubbed versions as well.

Krrish 3 is director-producer Rakesh Roshan's third instalment of the franchise that hit the road to glory in 2003 with Koi...Mil Gaya.

Krrish 3 came out on Friday and collected Rs.25.20 crores on the first day, followed by R .23.20 crores on the second day with impressive Diwali day collections at Rs.24.30 crore, said a statement.

If the audience lapped up Hrithik as superhero again, they have also appreciated the performances by Vivek Oberoi and Kangana Ranaut who play negative characters in the film. Priyanka Chopra is the female lead.

Justin Bieber's Sao Paulo Show Cut Short After Water Bottle Attack

Justin Bieber reportedly cut his concert in Sao Paulo, Brazil short this weekend after being hit with an object thrown from the crowd.

Bieber was performing in the Brazilian metropolis when a member of the audience threw what is reported to be a water bottle at him. Video of the incident can be seen above.

According to reports, fans waited close to an hour for the pop prince to return to the stage and finish the show, but he never did so, ending the gig without notice. (It should be noted that "Boyfriend," the song Bieber was finishing when the bottle was thrown, is often part of his encore anyway; he may have just been done with the show.)

For his part, Bieber commented on the performance on Twitter that night, avoiding mention of the drama and telling fans that it is "all love."

This isn't the first time that Bieber has been attacked onstage. Check out his earlier incident and similar moments from other artists below.

Mohamed Morsi tells Egyptian court 'I am President', trial adjourned

A defiant Mohamed Morsi today appeared at a court here to face charges of inciting murder and violence during the ousted Egyptian president's year-long rule, even as his high-profile trial was adjourned to January 8.

Morsi, in his first public appearance since the army deposed him in July, called the court "illegal" and asserted: "I am Dr Mohamed Morsi, the president of the republic...".

"This court is illegal," the 62-year-old Muslim Brotherhood leader said, clad in a suit rather than the customary white detention clothes.

He slammed his ouster and demanded that the military leaders, who staged the coup, face trial.

"This was a military coup. The leaders of the coup should be tried. A coup is treason and a crime," Morsi said.

After Morsi's remarks and his refusal to wear a uniform, the judge adjourned the trial until January 8 to allow prosecution and defence to examine documents.

During the trial, Morsi asserted that he is the "legitimate president of the country," appealing to the "Egypt's judiciary not to provide cover for the criminal coup d'etat," in reference to his ouster on July 3.

Supporters of the leader protested outside the court and elsewhere.

At least 10 people died in the clashes at the Ittihadiya presidential palace in December 2012 which broke out after pro-Morsi protesters attacked a sit-in held by opponents of a presidential decree which had granted the Islamist leader expanded powers.

If found guilty, Morsi and 14 others could face lifetime imprisonment or the death penalty.

The deposed Islamist president was brought from a secret military facility where he has been detained for the past four months.

He was flown down to the venue of the trial, a police academy in an eastern district here, by a helicopter.

Ahead of Mars Mission, Temple run goes hand in hand with Rocket science

For top Indian Space Research Organisation (Isro) scientists, it has been a tradition to visit Tirupati temple before any major launch. It has been no different in the run-up to the launch of the Mars Orbiter Mission on Tuesday.

Isro chairman Dr K Radhakrishnan visited Tirupati on
Sunday to seek blessings for the successful launch.

Former Isro chairman G Madhavan Nair on Monday said, “This has been a tradition. I had also gone to Tirupati before the Chandrayaan mission.”

But more than religious beliefs, he said these temple visits helped des-stress the mind and offer clarity.

But beyond this, do superstitions and other beliefs have a hold on the scientists?

“Not really,” said Mylswamy Annadurai, the project director of moon missions Chandrayaan 1 and Chandrayaan 2. “I read a page of Bhagawad Gita daily and will do so on Tuesday.”

He added, “But yes I have just got a jar of peanuts and a good luck card from the Jet Propulsion Laboratory-Nasa. This is a very nice gesture. I will distribute these peanuts in my office on Tuesday morning.”

Scientists at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in National Aeronautics and Space Administration (Nasa) consider circulation of peanuts auspicious.

Vijay Saradhi, group director, project management, said, “Beliefs and prayers are personal. We had simply broken a coconut just before the entire process started in July. That’s all. We don’t believe in making our beliefs public.”

SK Shivakumar, director, Isro Satellite Center, agrees. “I am just focussed on the launch. All these things are secondary.”

Another scientist, who did not want to be named, said, “I will pray for the success of the launch during my routine daily worship. Nothing beyond that.”

BlackBerry-Fairfax takeover dies; Thorsten Heins out

BlackBerry Ltd. is abandoning a plan to find a buyer and will instead raise $1-billion of new funds and replace its chief executive and some directors, sources said.

The Waterloo, Ont.-based smartphone company had spent the past two and a half months seeking a buyer, and had received a letter of intent from investor Fairfax Financial Holdings Ltd. to purchase the company for $4.7-billion. Fairfax had until today to complete its detailed examination of BlackBerry’s books.

The new plan will involve raising roughly $1-billion by selling convertible notes to a group of investors, according to people familiar with the transaction. Chief executive officer Thorsten Heins will depart the company, and the company will announce changes to its board, the people said.

John Chen, the former chief of Sybase Inc., will be appointed executive chairman of the board, responsible for the company's "strategic direction, strategic relationships and organizational goals."

He will be interim CEO when Mr. Heins leaves.

Mr. Heins was named to the top job early last year, taking over from Mike Lazaridis and Jim Balsillie, who had run the company since its earliest days.

Mr. Heins’ short tenure was marked by the rocky launch of BlackBerry’s new phone lineup. The new phones met tepid demand, and BlackBerry made the decision to officially put itself up for sale in August.

Fairfax had offered $9 a share in its tentative letter of intent, and was working to pull together a group of backers. The market was skeptical that Fairfax would be successful, and BlackBerry shares have been trading well below that price.

The process also attracted interest from various sources, including a potential group bid from private-equity firm Cerberus Capital Management, Mr. Lazaridis and chipmaker Qualcomm Inc.

Joe Cornish Rumored For 'Star Trek 3' Director Job

oe Cornish could replace J.J. Abrams as king of the "Star Trek" universe. That's the report from Deadline.com's Mike Fleming, who writes that Paramount "is sweet" on the idea of Cornish directing the franchise's next installment.

This isn't the first time Cornish, who directed the cult hit "Attack the Block" and co-wrote the script for "Ant-Man" with Edgar Wright, has had his name attached to "Star Trek 3." Back in May, Latino Review reporter Umberto "El Mayimbe" Gonzalez tweeted that Cornish was under consideration as a possible replacement for Abrams, who is next directing "Star Wars: Episode VII."

Other reported contenders for "Star Trek 3" have included Jon M. Chu and Rupert Wyatt. In an email to HuffPost Entertainment, however, Chu's representatives denied that "G.I. Joe: Retaliation" director was up for the job. Wyatt's involvement was never confirmed or denied, but Abrams did discuss the "Rise of the Planet of the Apes" director in an interview with HitFix.

"Whomever it is that directs the film will be someone we all know is going to keep the cast and crew in good hands," Abrams told Collider back in September. "I feel very lucky to have been part of it, and it definitely feels like the right time to let someone come in and do their own thing. I certainly don’t want someone to come in and try to do what I would have done. We want to hire someone who's gonna come in and bring their own sensibility. I'm very excited to see what comes next, despite feeling jealous of whomever that person is."

Dolly Parton On Miley Cyrus: 'She's Just Trying To Find Her Own Place And Wings And Learn To Fly'

Dolly Parton is Miley Cyrus' godmother, so of course she has nothing but kind words about the 20-year-old singer. But that doesn't mean she's taking her mentoring opportunities to an extreme.

In a new interview with the the London Evening Standard, Parton, 67, said she has advised Cyrus at times but "would never dream of" inserting herself in the singer's career moves unsolicited.

“I’ve loved her through the years and watched her grow up, and I’ve seen how smart she is and how talented she is," Parton said. "I don’t think people really realize yet what a great singer and writer she really is. She’s just trying to find her own place and wings and learn to fly."

Even if it's a given that Parton would voice her support for Cyrus, she still serves as a tally mark on Team Miley. A number of musicians (Lady Gaga, Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears, Kanye West) have joined the coterie of Cyrus supporters, while others (Cher, Sinead O'Connor, Elton John, Pink) have taken a seat on the other side of the fence.

“It’s not easy being young," Partons said. "It’s hard to know what to do. You’ve almost got to sacrifice your damn soul just to get anything done.”

Parton also voiced an interest in recording a duet with Cyrus, which is clearly the best idea she's had since rapping about Oprah and "Duck Dynasty" on "The Queen Latifah Show" two weeks ago.

Heidi Montag Undergoes Breast Reduction Surgery Photo

Heidi Montag, reality show star turned plastic surgery spectacle, has gone under the knife again -- this time, for medical reasons. The 27-year-old former "Hills" star reportedly underwent a breast reduction that decreased her bra size from an "F" to a "D."

Montag filmed her surgery for "Entertainment Tonight." Host Brooke Anderson posted a photo of herself and Montag on her Twitter Thursday, writing: "We r in the OR w/@HeidiMontag tn on @ETonlineAlert as she downsizes from F breasts to D for health reasons!"

This isn't the first time Montag has publicly documented her plastic surgery operations. In 2010, the then 23-year-old unveiled a shocking head-to-toe makeover in a People magazine cover story, in which she claimed to have undergone 10 procedures in just one day, including rhinoplasty, liposuction, breast implants and buttock augmentation.

She would later regret her many operations, telling Billy Bush on "Access Hollywood" in 2012: "I would never do it again and I never recommend it for anyone … I kind of wanted a few enhancements and then it got out of hand. I wasn't told really the repercussions and what would happen, emotionally and psychically and the pain I would be in. I was kind of in shock."

Katy Perry On Supposed Lady Gaga Rivalry: 'You Can't Look At It Like A Competition'

Lady Gaga and Katy Perry have been pitted against each other as pop rivals for the better part of the year. As dueling singles, albums, music videos and press opportunities have found critics and fans questioning which singer is the reigning princess of pop, Perry is speaking out to quash the rivalry image that exists between the two.

“Gaga and I like to publicly dismiss it because it’s not healthy," Perry told Entertainment Weekly. "You want to feel music. You want it to resonate and relate to you. You can’t look at it like a competition because you ruin the reason why you love music. But I think that sometimes our fan groups are so big and strong, they use it as ammunition.”

That "ammunition" first kicked into high gear when Gaga's "Applause" and Perry's "Roar" -- the lead singles from their respective albums, which arrive just a few weeks apart from each other -- leaked at the same time. Since then, it's been a tit-for-tat between the singers' fans. It's a bit easier for Perry to denounce any form of a "competition," as forecasts for the sales of the two singles indicated that Perry would come out on top by a wide margin. Indeed, "Roar" sold 557,000 digital copies, while "Applause" saw 218,000 downloads.

In a year that's seen Joan Rivers, Sinead O'Connor, Cher and others speak out against Miley Cyrus' pop-culture reign, the conversation about fostering female rivalries in the media has escalated.

"I just think it's very unfair of anyone to pit another woman against another woman, especially in the space of music, when we're all just trying to be taken seriously at all as females," Gaga told Andy Cohen in September during an appearance on "Watch What Happens Live."

Now, as Gaga's "ARTPOP" makes its long-awaited debut on Nov. 11, the album will inevitably face comparisons with Perry's "Prism," which came out Oct. 18. "Prism" debuted at No. 1 with 286,000 copies sold. The next needless contest between the two women will center on which of them can produce the more impressive first-week sales. Perry topped Cyrus as the highest-selling debut of the year by a female artist. Can Gaga now top Perry? It's all in the "competition."

Burns explores Roosevelt legacy in new documentary

Filmmaker Ken Burns said Saturday that he wants to tell the story of three of the most famous Roosevelts, their strengths and weaknesses, in an upcoming documentary on one of America's most famous political families.

He previewed part of the 14-hour series that will air next year during a reunion of the extended Roosevelt family at the former polio clinic in rural Georgia that President Franklin Roosevelt purchased after coming to seek a cure for his crippled legs. Roosevelt built a home here known as the Little White House, where he died in 1945.

Burns' film explores the political and family ties between President Theodore Roosevelt and Franklin Roosevelt and his wife, Eleanor. The filmmaker acclaimed for documentaries on the Civil War, baseball and World War II said he aimed for an honest portrayal of political figures who were sometimes reduced to caricatures.

Contrasting American ideals of heroism with those of the heroes of ancient Greece, Burns remarked that the Greeks "saw heroes as having very obvious strength but also very obvious and sometimes equal weaknesses."

"Achilles had his heel," Burns said. "And so I think for us, it's always been what kind of American history do you show? One that's sort of treacly and superficial or one that gets deeper?"

Defining a common legacy between the three figures is tricky since their lives span from 1858 to 1962. The political populism of Theodore Roosevelt — for example, his anti-monopoly stances and efforts to improve food safety and regulation — arguably found a new expression in the New Deal politics championed by Franklin Roosevelt to alleviate the suffering inflicted by the Great Depression.

The film follows Eleanor Roosevelt as she emerged from her role as first lady after Roosevelt's death and successfully worked to adopt a United Nations declaration of human rights. She was the niece of Theodore Roosevelt and a distant relation to Franklin Roosevelt.

All three Roosevelts backed an expanded role for the central government, an unresolved issue in American politics. Congressional Republicans recently shut down much of the U.S. government in a failed attempt to derail big changes to the health insurance market made by a Democratic president.

"We have a federal government that is big because of Franklin Roosevelt," Burns said in an interview. "And lots of people think that's a good thing. And a lot of people think that's a bad thing. And a lot of people, most people, don't understand it."

The film shows flaws. Theodore Roosevelt encouraged a rebellion in Panama so the United States could secure the land needed for the Panama Canal. It discusses Franklin Roosevelt's infidelity and the emotional abuse inflicted by Eleanor Roosevelt's mother and an absent, alcoholic father.

Evidence of the history depicted in the film can be found on the surrounding campus. Roosevelt's residence still has the bed where he died and a door has scratch marks believed to be from his dog. Burns saw the fast-driving 1938 Ford that allowed Roosevelt to escape his watchful bodyguards.

"He would ride along the countryside, toot his horn, say, 'I want to talk to you,'" said Marion Dunn, 90, who met Roosevelt while working at the rehabilitation center. "He was a real people person - he didn't talk up or down to anyone."

Tweed Roosevelt, the great-grandson of Theodore Roosevelt, said he was supportive of Burns' work but could not judge the documentary since he had not seen all of it. While the Roosevelts have been extensively chronicled, it's uncommon to consider the joint legacy of all three in a single work.

"The attitudes of Franklin and Eleanor (weren't) all that different from T.R.'s view about the 'common man' and the difficult situations they face," Tweed Roosevelt said. "Today that's certainly in my opinion a very important issue, but it seems to be somewhat ignored. Here we are in an era of increasing distance between the rich and the poor getting very much back to how it was in T.R.'s time."

Police Presence Boosted After Deadly L.A. Airport Shooting

Local police will increase their presence at U.S. airports and the Transportation Security Administration will evaluate its procedures after a gunman killed an agency officer at Los Angeles International Airport.

The agency will discuss airport security issues “writ large” with Congress, including whether to arm officers, TSA Administrator John Pistole said at a press conference in Los Angeles yesterday.

“Obviously this gives us great concern,” said Pistole, who met with the family of Officer Gerardo Hernandez, 39, the first TSA employee killed in the line of duty, and other victims of the Nov. 1 shootings. “We will look at what our policies and procedures are and what provides the best possible security.”

The suspect, Paul Ciancia, 23, was accused of killing a federal officer on duty and of using a firearm to perform an act of violence at an international airport, according to a criminal complaint filed yesterday in Los Angeles federal court. If convicted, he could face the death penalty.

Ciancia is hospitalized and unresponsive so police haven’t been able to interview him, David L. Bowdich, the FBI special agent in charge, said at the press conference yesterday. It’s unclear when he will make his first court appearance.

Ciancia, of Los Angeles, singled out TSA employees and said in a handwritten note that he wanted “to instill fear in their traitorous minds,” Bowdich said.

Pistole didn’t give an opinion about arming his officers while differentiating between the missions of airport police and his employees, whose principal job is to make sure explosives don’t get onto flights.
    Flights Disrupted

The shootings halted flights in and out of the Los Angeles airport, the fifth-busiest in the U.S. by domestic passengers, stranding thousands and delaying flights across the U.S. The biggest carriers are United Continental Holdings Inc. (UAL:US)’s United Airlines, AMR Corp. (AAMRQ:US)’s American Airlines, Southwest Airlines Co. (LUV:US) and Delta Air Lines Inc.

As many as 866 flights, including 40 yesterday, were canceled, delayed or rerouted.

Enhanced security at Los Angeles will remain for the foreseeable future, said Patrick Gannon, the airport police chief, who didn’t give details. Passengers should feel safe with the additional resources, Gannon said.

“We’ll keep it going as long as we think it’s necessary,” Gannon said. “We will continue a very high profile.”

Airports and the TSA customarily decline to discuss details of security procedures and personnel use beyond acknowledging visible safeguards such as checkpoints. That was the case again yesterday with the city of Chicago, which runs O’Hare International, the second-busiest U.S. airport.

Pakistan accuses US of nixing Taliban talks

The Pakistani interior minister on Saturday accused the US of "scuttling" efforts towards peace talks with the Taliban by killing the militants' leader in a drone strike. Chaudhry Nisar said "every aspect" of Pakistan's cooperation with Washington would be reviewed following Friday's drone attack that killed Hakimullah Mehsud in the country's tribal northwest. Pakistan also summoned the US ambassador on Saturday to protest over two recent drone attacks, the foreign ministry said.

Conflicting reports emerged on Saturday over the selection of Hakimullah Mehsud's successor. Local media reported that Khan Said Sajna , a battle-hardened terrorist with years of fighting experience in Afghanistan, was named chief after a Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan meeting. However, a late-night PTI report said the outfit had put on hold a decision to make Sajna its new chief as several commanders opposed the move.

Instead, Shehryar Mehsud has been named caretaker chief and its Shura or council will meet again in the next few days to decide on a new leader, Taliban sources said.

Sajna comes from South Waziristan and belongs to Shabikhel sub-tribe of Mehsud clan. He was Mehsud's key aide and is said to have been behind many deadly attacks across Pakistan, including a jailbreak and an attack on the Karachi naval base.

The other contender for the top job in the group was Mullah Fazlullah, the chief of Taliban in Swat, whose fighters shot Malala Yousafzai. Meanwhile, Taliban fighters secretly buried Mehsud, who was in his mid-30 s and carried a $5 million bounty on his head, under cover of darkness amid fears that his funeral might be attacked. Mehsud's vehicle was hit while he was returning from a meeting of Taliban leaders. A Taliban leader said his body was "damaged but recognizable".

The slain Taliban chief's deputy was killed in a drone attack in May while his top aide was captured in Afghanistan last month. Mehsud's two predecessors were killed in similar attacks.

Fears of Taliban backlash has mounted in Pakistan after Mehsud's aide vowed to avenge his killing. "Our revenge will be more deadly and unprecedented," said Taliban commander Abu Omar. He blamed the Pakistan government for endorsing the drone strikes and added they know their "enemy very well".

The government sounded highest alert across Pakistan , fearing attacks as uncertainty prevailed over its move to engage with the Taliban, who have often fiercely retaliated to the killings of their leaders and targeted public places, military installations. Peshawar, which has taken the brunt of the Taliban attacks , wore a deserted look on Saturday as security forces had put up blockades across the city to prevent possible strikes.

Ranveer Singh borrows Moves from Govinda

For the shoot of a song from his upcoming movie, Ranveer Singh seemed to require some inspiration. So, the actor, by his own admission, imitated some of Govinda’s signature steps to pep up his dance moves in the song, Ishqyaun dhishqyaun.

“I grew up watching Hindi movies in the ’90s. Govinda was the best dancer then. I used to dance to his songs,” says Ranveer. While rehearsing for the song, Ranveer even managed to make his director, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, laugh — who is otherwise known to be strict on the sets. He apparently kept making funny faces throughout the shoot.

After a spree of Navratri songs – 'Nagada Sang Dhol' and 'Lahu Muh Lag Gaya', the makers of 'Ram-Leela' released a non festive song from the film – 'Ishqyaun Dhishqyaun'.

'Ram-Leela' lead actors Deepika Paukone and Ranveer Singh are seen having some fun Govinda-style.

The song is in stark contrast to what we have been seeing in 'Ram-Leela'.

Unlike its predecessors 'Ishqyaun Dhishqyaun' is neither traditional nor set in a grandeur back drop. It rather shows, Ram and Leela declaring the nature of the violent romance suiting the tag line of the film 'This time Love is at War'.

Director Sanjay Leela Bhansali has given a break to the traditional Gujarati dances garba and dandiya and has focused on the Bollywood dance style.

In The Indian Express music review, Sankhayan Ghosh said that 'Ishqyaun dhishqyaun suffers from 'unimaginative arrangement'.

The vocals for the song are given by Udit Narayan's son Aditya, who also sang Ranveer Singh's introductory song 'Tattad Tattad'.

The music for the film is given by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and the lyrics are penned by Siddharth-Garima.

'Ram-Leela' also stars Richa Chadda, Supriya Pathak, Gulshan Devaiah, Abhimanyu Shekhar Singh, Shweta Salve, Barkha Bisht Sengupta and Sharad Kelkar.

The film is slated to release on November 15.

Piers Morgan To Ann Coulter 'Could You Ever Imagine Dating Bill Maher?'

It's not every day that someone can make Ann Coulter look really, really uncomfortable.

But Piers Morgan did just that when he pried into her personal life on "Piers Morgan Live." The CNN host got right to it on Thursday when he asked the conservative political commenter who she would and would not date. Judging by Coulter's reaction, we'd say she definitely wasn't expecting it.

"Could you ever imagine dating Bill Maher?"

Coulter, laughing and looking around the room, appeared extremely awkward.

    "I'm serious," Morgan said.

"If you were interviewing Margaret Thatcher, would you ask her that," Coulter snapped back. "No, I think not."

    Morgan tried again.

"Would you ever date a liberal?"

    Then Coulter got really uncomfortable.

"I am not discussing who I would date!"

This Taboo-Busting Ad Is Reinventing 'Happily Ever After' In India

Widowed and divorced women have historically been shunned in areas of India. So imagine the nation's surprise when jeweler Tanishq celebrated a second marriage in its new ad.

The spot (watch above) features a beautiful bride having a playful moment with her daughter after bridesmaids help her adjust her jewelry. At the ceremony, we see the hunky groom struck with love for both his new wife and stepdaughter.

The little girl feels excluded during the actual marriage rites, however, so stepdad invites her to join them. She later asks if she can call him "Daddy."

AdWeek reports that India has been "mesmerized" by the ad. The trade outlet called the commercial "revolutionary" and "crazy bold."

Tanishq is possibly the first to introduce remarriage in Indian advertising, India business outlet Livemint wrote.

"[Viewers] may not be going through the same thing in their life, but the ad makes a bold, progressive, statement and people like to be associated with brands that make such statements," Arun Iyer, national creative director of the ad agency Lowe Lintas, told Livemint.

YouTube watchers applauded the ad for breaking taboos and for using a model with a darker skin tone than is customary in commercials there.

Security Agent Is Killed at Los Angeles Airport

A 23-year-old man wielding an assault rifle and carrying 100 rounds of ammunition shot and killed a Transportation Security Administration officer at Los Angeles International Airport on Friday morning, sending travelers fleeing in panic and paralyzing one of the world’s busiest airports for hours.

Two other people, one of them a security agent, were shot and at least four others were injured in the melee.

The gunman entered Terminal 3 just before 9:3o a.m., pulled a weapon from a bag and began firing as he forced his way through a security checkpoint, officials said. Airport police officers chased him through the bustling terminal as he continued to fire, before shooting him near a departure gate and arresting him.

The T.S.A. agent who was killed was the first to die in the line of duty since the agency was created in the aftermath of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, officials said.

Thousands of travelers throughout the airport were evacuated and flights were grounded for hours, with some incoming flights diverted to nearby airports and others held on the tarmac while the shooting unfolded. Passengers spent hours in waiting areas, parking lots and nearby hotels as they waited for flights to resume. Air traffic across the country was stalled in a ripple effect from the shutdown.

Federal officials identified the gunman as Paul Ciancia of Los Angeles, who had previously lived in New Jersey. A senior federal official said that he had a note with “antigovernment and anti-T.S.A. ramblings.” Mr. Ciancia was being treated at a Los Angeles hospital, officials said.

Former classmates at the Salesianum School, a private boys’ school in Wilmington, Del., said Mr. Ciancia was a quiet student. He played the tuba in the school band for all four years he attended, 2004 to 2008, said Jesse Sooy, 23.

“He was a really quiet kid,” Mr. Sooy said, describing a slight young man, no taller than 5-foot-7, with dark brown hair, who rarely spoke unless spoken to. “His dream was to work in his dad’s collision company,” Mr. Sooy said, naming it as Salem County Collision, an auto repair shop in Pennsville, N.J. “I was so shocked that he was even at LAX.”

In Pennsville, neighbors of the Ciancia family described them as hard-working people who had lived in the community for at least 20 years and kept to themselves.

“Paul, the father, has been a well-respected businessman here for many years, and has always taken care of people well,” said Gary Hankins, who lives across the wooded street in the suburban South Jersey community of about 14,000.

Rich Garry, 68, of Fullerton, Calif., said he had been at Terminal 3 on Friday morning headed for a flight to New York to visit family members. He said that a security officer had just checked his boarding pass and that he was waiting in line at the security checkpoint when he heard two shots.

“I heard a ‘pop-pop’ and I looked down a floor below, and the T.S.A. guy was on the floor,” he said. “He had been shot.”

Mr. Garry said he believed it was the same security officer who had inspected his boarding pass.

As the gunman moved through the terminal, Mr. Garry said, “he was very calm. When he got to the top of the stairs where the security checkpoints are, he looked around. If he would have come up the ramp, he would have had a field day with all the people lying on the ground, like me.”

Mr. Garry said he and several others crawled to a nearby elevator and went to the ground floor. Once there, he saw police officers for the first time, and told them to go to the second floor.

Modi to meet Patna blasts victims, 2002 riots survivors say he has ignored them

As Gujarat Chief Minister and Bharatiya Janata Party prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi reaches out to console victims of the October 27 Patna blasts, survivors of the 2002 Gujarat riots ask why he hasn't met them even once since 2002. Noor Bano Saiyed, 45, and her family survived the 2002 Naroda Patiya massacre.

Since then they have lived at Citizen Nagar - a riot rehabilitation colony constructed by an NGO. Not once in the past decade has Modi visited the locality. She wonders whether she even is a resident of Gujarat. Bano said "He has not come to meet us in the past 12 years. Are we not citizens of this state?" Another riot survivor Zakir Hussain said, "Modi did not come to meet us or ask us our condition even once. The Muslim committee gave us these homes.

" Modi to meet Patna blasts victims, 2002 riots survivors say he has ignored them Gujarat police slams Bihar counterpart over In his campaign speeches Modi has pitched the Gujarat model and boasts of inclusive development. But the Citizen Nagar rehabilitation colony tells a different story. Citizen Nagar is located just beside Ahmedabad's largest garbage dump.. There's dirt and filth everywhere and residents don't have basic facilities - like roads, sanitation or even a school.

Shahjehan Bano Shaikh, a Citizen Nagar resident, said, "These are the worst conditions possible. No roads, gutter or school here. Children have to travel 6 kms to school. others don't go to school at all." While six people were killed and 83 others injured in seven bomb blasts in Patna on Sunday, in Gujarat 59 Hindu karsewaks returning from Ayodhya is Uttar Pradesh from Sabarmati Express were killed when their bogie was set on fire near Gujarat's Godhra station which was followed by massive riots across the state in which hundreds of Muslims were massacred.

Danielle Fishel AKA Topanga Rocks A Bikini On Her Honeymoon In Hawaii

Just days after taking down body bullies who dared to criticize her weight, actress Danielle Fishel looks more than confident rocking a bikini.

Of course, those online bullies seemed to the farthest thing from the former "Boy Meets World" star's mind as photographers snapped photos of the actress and new husband Tim Belusko while on their honeymoon in Hawaii on Saturday.

The 32-year-old, who is about to reprise her role as Topanga Lawrence on Disney's "Girl Meets World," married her boyfriend of nearly five years on Oct. 19, and though it was a joyous occasion for the couple, it prompted online haters to spew their venom, making comments about Fishel's weight and criticizing her for marrying someone so young.

Fishel wouldn't hear any of it and hit back on Twitter, telling naysayers that her new husband is "mature, responsible, loving, & kind." And as for the comments about her weight, Fishel very poignantly had this to say:

he looks pretty damn good. For being so dang short, she has obviously worked hard to keep her body in shape. It would be silly to call her fat, can you imagine how that would make people who are actually fat feel? To think that someone weighing 107 pounds is obese? That’s just insane.

Anyway, hopefully the picture puts an end to some of the negative comments. If you find yourself about to make an insensitive comment, just stop yourself and think, “What Would Feeny Do?”

After Krrish 3, you won't be sure whether to desire or fear Priyanka Hrithik Roshan

Hrithik Roshan seemed to be in a jovial mood when he visited the national capital recently to promote his upcoming film Krrish 3.

    related stories

"Basically, her true nature will come out and you won't know whether to desire her or be afraid of her."

Later, when a kid asked if he can find Jaadu (a character from the Koi Mil Gaya, the first in series of Krrish films) in real-life, the actor cutely replied, "If you study well, eat well and become a strong boy, you will become Jaadu yourself." After the event came to an end, the actor got a picture clicked with the kid.

Talking about his experience working for the movie, Hrithik says he is excited that he got a chance to reprise Rohit's (from Koi Mil Gaya, 2003) role. "I was not sure if I will have the same tonal sound, body language as Rohit," (sic) the actor said.

Krrish has characters named and modelled after animals. We have Frog-man, Cheetah girl and Rhino-man, the actors adds.

Talking about the graphics in the film, Hrithik informs only Indian artists have weorked for the VFX for Krrish 3. He further said, "I am excited that our cinema has come to the stage where we can present such characters in almost one percent of what Hollywood films use."

Later, when asked about her alleged fight with Kangana Ranaut, Priyanka Chopra gets angry and replies, "I don't know why women's stature in movies are reduced to catfights. It's like they do not have anything better to do on the sets. Why does no one talk about the men? Nobody says how Hrithik or Vivek would have fought."

Austrailia PM declares end of 'longest war' on surprise Afghan visit

visit to Afghanistan. According to an ABC report, Abbott while speaking at a special ceremony at the Australian-run base in Tarin Kot in Uruzgan province on Monday, said "Australia's
longest war is ending. Not with victory, not with defeat, but with, we hope, an Afghanistan that is better for our presence here."

Describing the Afghan war as complicated, he further said that?the imminent withdrawal of Australian troops was "bittersweet".

"It's bittersweet because hundreds of soldiers will be home for Christmas; bitter because not all Australian families have had their sons, fathers and partners return," he said. "Sweet because our soldiers have given a magnificent account of themselves; bitter because Afghanistan remains a dangerous place despite all that has been done."

More than 20,000 Australians have served in Afghanistan 260 were wounded and 40 were killed in action. The war has cost over AUD 7.5 billion.

Under current plans, Australia will end all combat operations and withdraw some 1,000 troops from Uruzgan Province by the end of the year.

However, about 400 will remain in a variety of roles including mentoring the headquarters of the Afghan National Army (ANA) 205 Corps in Kandahar and assisting in training of ANA officer cadets in Kabul

Shiv Sena supports Rahul Gandhi over ISI remark

Though Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi is facing flak for his statement that Pakistani secret agency ISI was in touch with victims of the Muzaffarnagar riots, he has received support from unexpected quarters — the Shiv Sena.

On Monday, Sena mouthpiece Saamna, which is edited by party president Uddhav Thackeray, said Rahul, whose statements were mostly “laughable”, had “unknowingly spoken the truth”.

“There is no need to be shocked about the truth the Yuvaraj has spoken about the fundamentalist Muslims in the country,” said an editorial in the newspaper, adding that, earlier, Hindutva leaders like the late Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray had also pointed to ISI activities in India.

The editorial said that the ISI’s involvement was seen in every communal riot and terrorist activity in India and that it was also involved in turning Muslim youth into fundamentalists and using them for anti-national activities.

It pointed to examples such as the Memon brothers and their involvement in the Mumbai bomb blasts and added that terrorists Abdul Karim Tunda and Yasin Bhatkal were ISI affiliates.

“The ISI’s agents here undertake more machinations than fake secularists like the Congress and the SP (Samajwadi Party) to ensure that Muslims do not join the mainstream in the country,” the editorial said, adding that the ISI wanted another partition of India on religious grounds.

It rued that political strategies hinged on ensuring that Muslims became more fundamentalist and insecure.

Salman Khan explains his outburst on Bigg Boss 7

Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has taken to Twitter to explain his outburst against 'Bigg Boss 7' contestant Kushal Tandon.

Salman slammed Kushal for being rude to housemate Tanisha and his attempt to escape the reality show house over a fight during a task this weekend.

But, many of Salman's fans believed that the actor was a bit "unfair" on Kushal by taking Tanisha's side.

However, Salman, who had claimed that Kushal's action may force him to not return as Bigg Boss host next season, said his anger was genuine.

"You see one hour, I see the whole deal. Guess some of you guys may not react when someone speaks to your family's female members or women in that manner. But I do and most of us men and women stand up against men who run them down," Salman tweeted.

The 47-year-old actor said he decided to reply after seeing comments by 'Bigg Boss' followers.

"I am only answering your question about Bigg Boss because you are following me. This is a game. It's on TV so I like to keep a check on it."

He also explained why he did not say anything to Armaan or Andy for the fights they get into.

"According to what you saw on TV, both should have been out but there was a lot more to the fight than what you saw. There can only be that much put on TV," he added.

Many of Salman's followers said that the actor was 'unfair' to Kushal after his special 'Weekend Ka Wow' episode on Saturday.

"What most disgusting is how Salman Khan entirely supports Tanisha and her ways and then talk about being fair. How so Mr Khan? UnfairSalman," a fan wrote

"Ok, you are from a respected family, Tanisha. But UnfairSalman biased-ness is so not done! We love Kushal and Gauhar," fan Alok Trivedi tweeted.

Patna Blasts 40-Minute Delay in Modi's Arrival Proves Crucial

Officers of Intelligence Bureau and Gujarat Police made BJP's PM candidate Narendra Modi delay his arrival at the venue of his rally by 40 minutes to ensure that he stayed out of harm's way.

According to sources, Modi, who had touched down at Patna airport at 12.08 pm and insisted on addressing the rally even as bombs continued to go off, relented to the persuasion of the officers to defer his arrival at the rally ground.

The precaution was taken because of the apprehension that the bombers may have timed explosions to coincide with Modi's arrival at Gandhi Maidan, the crowded venue of the rally.

The precaution was justified as one of the bombs, planted closest to the dais, went off at 12.25, that is around the time Modi would have reached the ground had he set out immediately after touching down at Patna airport.

IB and Gujarat Police officers reckoned that a surge among the crowd for a closer look at the leader, a usual phenomenon at political rallies, and the panic caused by the explosions timed around that time would have led to a sudden rush.

Details available a day after the blasts suggest that the IB was sensitive to the threat to Modi from terror outfits. Sources in the district administration disclosed that the IB, at the urging of Gujarat Police, carried out an advanced security liaisoning ahead of the rally even though the drill was not mandated to be followed in his case.

Sources in the home department also confirmed that central intelligence agencies had advised the state government to take into account the threat that Modi faced from jihadi outfits, especially in light of the recently revealed facts about the reach of Indian Mujahideen's Darbhanga module.

It is learnt that governor D Y Patil has sought details from security agencies about the arrangements made for the rally addressed by a leader who figures on the top of the hit list of each jihadi outfit.

Tehsin Akhtar alias Monu, the mastermind of the terror attack, is a leading light of the Darbhanga module whose members have been found to be linked to terror attacks in different parts of the country and which helped Yasin Bhatkal and other terrorists like Pakistani national Waqas dodge police.

The details of a letter from IB to the state government can trigger a controversy in light of the statements of Bihar CM Nitish Kumar and state police chief Abhayanand that they had no intelligence input.

The state government is already on the defensive about the failure of police to sanitize the rally ground, use sniffer dogs, run anti-sabotage checks and ensure frisking. There was no evacuation plan either.

Justin Bieber may face CRIMINAL CHARGES for hocking a loogie

According to a new TMZ report, Justin Bieber’s inability to keep his bodily fluids to himself may land him in some hot loogie. After a recent tantrum in which the pop idol got so cranky that he spit up at his neighbor’s suggestion that he refrain from speeding in a cul-de-sac, the L.A County Sherrif’s Dept. will now most likely recommend that criminal battery charges be filed against the dyspeptic, droopy drawer-d, dipwad.

Reportedly, the 19-going-on-three-year-old took his Ferrari for a spin around the neighborhood at over 100mph and when his irate neighbor dared to step toe on Bieber’s property to complain, the wink-y, lip licking warbler cried out, “Get the f*ck out of here, I’m going to f***ing kill you!” and then promptly expectorated on the poor man.

Officially, no recommendation has been made yet, as the investigation is not finished, however, sources are spilling that Bieber’s salivary escapade is part of a larger picture that has emerged in the past few months concerning the singer’s all-around douche-tastic behavior, and the Sherriff sincerely feels he needs to be spanked repeatedly with a ladle of medium to heavy weight until he promises to be a good boy.

Now, I’m not even going to comment on the fact that I’m decidedly perplexed that this nozzle de douche’s popularity amongst the teenage throngs continues to rage on unabated, because…well…I’m not the target audience – I know this ok! In fact I haven’t been for decades…hell I don’t think I’ve ever been. So, although I personally believe that the white noise that this dim-witted drip blarrts out of his rectum is the auditory equivalent to contemplating the cobwebs in the corners of your ceiling at 3:47 am whilst battling a severe case of cholera induced constipation, I will relent that perhaps to some pea-brained, know-nothing tweener, his music – such as it is – might come off as pleasingly peppy. So no, I’m not going to comment on his talent – or lack thereof.

Left denies role in Attack on Kerala Chief Minister, 21 Arrested

The opposition Left in Kerala has denied that its workers were involved in the attack on Chief Minister Oommen Chandy, who is in a hospital following injuries after stones were pelted at his car yesterday evening.

"It is our belief that Left workers were not involved, but let's wait for a probe," the CPM leader MA Baby told NDTV.

"The attack is unfortunate, but out agitation against the state government in the solar scam will continue," Mr Baby said.

The ruling Congress alliance has rejected the denial, alleging that the attack was pre-planned. "The opposition has crossed all limits in its protests. Kerala's history has not seen such an incident," a senior minister in Mr Chandy's government told NDTV.

It was during a Left demonstration over the solar scam that protesters pelted stones at Mr Chandy at Kannur, where he had gone to attend a couple of engagements including the valedictory of the state police athletic meet.

The protesters, who sneaked into the venue despite heavy security, stoned Mr Chandy's car shattering its glass pane, splinters of which hit his forehead above the right eye. A stone also hit his chest.

21 people have been arrested for the attack, police said.

The solar scam - an alleged con job by a pair of entrepreneurs including a woman named Saritha Nair - has engulfed Mr Chandy for months now with records showing members of his office in frequent touch with the couple.

Ms Nair and her partner, Biju Radhakrishnan, are accused of swindling several people and companies by failing to deliver on solar energy solutions they had promised. They are in jail along with Teny Jopan, who was the chief minister's personal assistant.

41 Mkilled in Iraq’s continuing ‘war of genocide’

The Iraqi capital Baghdad continues to reel under a fresh wave of car bombings, adding to the carnage that the embattled city — once a showpiece of affluence and stability in the Arab world — has suffered in recent months.

At least 41 people were killed, following coordinated strikes during rush hour on Sunday, the first working day of the week in the region.

The attacks targeted areas where there was a heavy concentration of Shias, mainly markets and a bus stations. Apparently, these blasts were meant to further inflame sectarian strife, in a nation of 32 million, whose composite social fabric has already been stretched thin because of machinations that have pitted Sunnis, Shias, Christians and Kurds against each other, in the aftermath of the country’ s invasion by the United States and its allies in 2003.

Starting at around 9.30 a.m. local time, the frenzy of bombings tore through 10 locations within a space of 40 minutes. Over a 100 people were injured during the strikes. Separately, a suicide bomber in northern Iraq killed eight soldiers who had queued up to collect their pay packages.

Overwhelmed by the spiralling violence, Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki said on October 23 that Iraq is facing a “war of genocide”. “It has become clear... that Iraq is subjected to a war of genocide targeting all of its components,” said the Iraqi Premier during a press conference.

Mr. Maliki blamed the al-Qaeda for killing thousands of people in Iraq, asserting that the militant outfit is “destroying the houses of citizens and killing them, and blowing up government departments.” The daily, Al Hayat quoted Mr. Maliki as saying that the fall-out of the Syrian conflict has hit Iraq badly, on account of the free-flow of al-Qaeda linked extremists across the borders of the two neighbouring countries. He told tribal sheikhs in Kirkuk — an oil city dominated by Kurds — that the strife-torn situation in Iraq “is an extension of what is seen in Syria, Egypt and Libya”. Urging the tribal elders to rise, he added: “You cannot be controlled by small groups of Chechens, Afghans, Circassians and other powers that do not wish well for Iraq.”

Barack Obama 'approved tapping Angela Merkel's phone 3 years ago'

President Barack Obama was told about monitoring of German Chancellor in 2010 and allowed it to continue, says German newspaper
Obama 'approved tapping Merkel's phone 3 years ago'
Mr Obama was told of the secret monitoring of Mrs Merkel by General Keith Alexander, the head of the NSA, in 2010, according to Bild am Sonntag, a German newspaper.

President Barack Obama was personally informed about secret US monitoring of Angela Merkel three years ago, according to latest reports on the eavesdropping affair.

The President allowed the National Security Agency (NSA) to continue spying on the German chancellor, it was claimed.

Mr Obama was told of the secret monitoring of Mrs Merkel by General Keith Alexander, the head of the NSA, in 2010, according to Bild am Sonntag, a German newspaper.

“Obama did not stop the action at that time but allowed it to continue,” a US intelligence source close to the NSA operation told the Sunday newspaper.

The White House later commissioned an extensive NSA dossier about Mrs Merkel, according to Bild.

Patna serial blasts LIVE President's Rule be imposed in Bihar, demands BJP

Till now no one from the government has gone to see the victims of the Patna bomb blast. CM should resign and President Rule should be impose in the state," says Ashwini Chaubey of BJP.

7.45 pm: LJP chief Ramvilas Paswan has slammed Bihar government over the bomb blasts in Patna. He says the incident has "exposed" what law and order exists during the JD (U) rule. "Bihar earlier never witnesses this kind of bomb blasts. The incidents expose all his claims of "Susashan" (good governance). What kind of law and order exists in Bihar during Nitish Kumar's role is fully exposed now. He should answer to people to what level he wants to take the state now," Paswan said.

7.30 pm: In the wake of Patna serial blasts, BJP says JD(U) has lost the 'moral' right to govern the state.

"The person who was to address the rally is in the Z-plus security cover category and despite that there was no proper security arrangement," BJP national spokesperson Meenakshi Lekhi

Blaming intelligence bureau and the CID in Bihar for 'complete intelligence failure', Lekhi said President Pranab Mukherjee was to be in Patna but cancelled his visit "owing to the rally". "Had he come and such blasts occurred, what would have happened? Given the situation, JD(U) has no moral right to govern the state," she said.

6.55 pm: It is the criminal negligence of the state government. They have completely failed, says Bihar BJP chief Sushil Kumar Modi.

6.46 pm: Three out of the five deceased have been identified, namely – Vikas, Ram Narayan Singh, Munna Srivastav. Two are yet to be identified, says Bihar DGP Abhayanand

6.45 pm: Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) were planted. We have found some documents related to the blasts, but we cannot yet reveal the details just yet, says Bihar DGP Abhayanand.

6.40 pm: Patna serial blasts were an attack on Gujarat CM Narendra Modi, says BJP. "There is no doubt that the blasts were an attempt to disrupt the BJP rally. In fact, it's a direct attack on Modiji. We don't know who are behind this attack, but both the centre and Bihar governments are answerable," says BJP spokesperson Meenakshi Lekhi.

6.24 pm: Making a guess on who did it will be premature now. I rule out any political conspiracy. Bihar has no history of political confrontation, says Bihar CM Nitish Kumar.

6.22 pm: The serial blasts an attempt to disrupt law and order in Bihar, says Bihar CM.

6.20 pm: I assure everyone that no effort will be spared to solve the case: Nitish Kumar.

6.15 pm: "Ex-gratia payment of Rs 5 lakhs will be provided to the families of the deceased," says Bihar CM Nitish Kumar.

6.12 pm: "There was no intelligence input. Every possible security arrangement was in place," says Bihar CM Nitish Kumar.

6.10 pm: "Some police personnel were injured during defusing the bombs. It is important that efforts of such nuisance-creating elements be thwarted by remaining united," says Bihar CM Nitish Kumar.

6.06 pm: The serial blasts seem to be a pre-planned incident, says Bihar CM Nitish Kumar. One person fleeing from Patna railways station has been nabbed, he informs.

6.05 pm: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar condemns serial blasts in Patna. "83 people in total went to Patna Medical College & Hospital (PMCH) for treatment and 38 have been admitted," he says.

6.00 pm: UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi condemned the Patna serial blasts.

5.10 pm : Eighth bomb exploded at the Gandhi Maidan, fortunately no one was hurt, agencies reported.

Serial bomb blasts have rocked Bihar's capital on the day that Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) prime ministerial candidate and Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi's arrived in the city for 'Hunkar' rally.

Five people have reportedly been killed while 50 others have been injured in the explosion.

Police have detained three suspects in connection with the blasts.

Eight explosions have taken place today starting with a crude bomb blast at around 10 am at a public toilet outside the platform number 10 of the railway station.

Jankovic questions Serena's sportsmanship after losing their WTA semi-final match

Williams, who claims to be exhausted near the end of a long season, reacted with fretful worrying, and sometimes distracting behaviour while struggling to a 6-4 2-6 6-4 two-hour win over Jankovic.

It included weeping into her towel, gesticulating and arm-waving, bending over and slumping, yelling and calling out, and both moving during the rallies and conducting the game at different speeds.

"I never saw her do this when she's leading,'' Jankovic said of Williams' go-slow moments.

"You know, every time she has a lead, she's running for the balls and she's hitting those big serves.

"For some reason, every time she starts losing, she starts serving slower or not running for certain balls. That's something that as a player you have to pay attention.

"It's not the first time when we played that she's doing this. That's her way of playing - or maybe when she plays against me. I don't know.

"But when it's an important moment, a huge serve comes up, so you have to be on alert every time. You never know if she's going to come slow or really fast one.

"It's not easy to focus. It's important for me to focus on my game and not really let those kind of things affect me and not allow me to play my game, but it's the way it is.

"She's the number one player in the world, and she plays so well. She deserves to be in this spot. But I think also when you play, winning or losing, you have to be up there and be a good sportsman."

Nothing in the rules of tennis says a player shall not play at different speeds.

However Jankovic appeared to be suggesting there are ways of conducting yourself not covered in the rules but which are eloquent of your attitude to the game.

Williams plays her last match of the 2013 season against Li Na in the WTA Championships final on Sunday.

Chief Minister Narendra Modi with Rajasthan BJP president Vasundhara Raje at an election rally in Udaipur on Saturday. PTI

Three days after Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi made stinging allegations against the BJP for fanning communal violence and called himself a "victim of terrorism", BJP's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi in a massive rally in Udaipur said the "Shehzada" was spinning out "family serials" to win popularity and dismissed his revelation of ISI getting in touch with the relatives of riot victims in Muzaffarnagar as a "story" heard in passing.

In a rally organised by the tribal cell of the party, Modi raised a clarion call to uproot the "Delhi Sultanate" and announced that "only six months and less than 200 days were left" for change to be ushered in. Playing to a teeming crowd drawn from the tribal-dominated belts, Modi laid out a direct comparison of prices of essential commodities used commonly in the Mewar region. He alleged that these commodities have become unaffordable to the common man due to inflation, leaving the women in the audience nodding in agreement. "During Atalji's government, gur (jaggery) was sold at Rs 9, now it is not even available even at Rs 50. Similarly arhar dal used to be priced at Rs 26, now it has crossed Rs 70, chillies were Rs 50 a kg, now have crossed Rs 200," he said, quickly adding, "Kisne mirchi lagai?"

The atmosphere was electric as Modi connected with the crowd and frequently left questions to the audience. "Aapka jeena haraam karne wale Congress ka aap jeena haraam karoge? (Will you give Congress a hard time for giving you a tough time)," he asked.

Modi said that coal and 2G have caught the attention of the Congress-led government and not onions. "Now they are eyeing gold and they have got to know that every household in Rajasthan has at least 1 kg of gold. Dear friends they are out to get your gold, your mangalsutra," he cautioned.

Alternate Version Of 'Anchorman 2' In the Works Using '250 New Jokes'

Don't act like you're not impressed that "Anchorman 2" could receive an alternate cut made up of entirely new material.

That's what writer/director Adam McKay is planning in conjunction with the comedy sequel's hotly anticipated December release. McKay told Empire magazine that the project has so much to work with that there's enough for a second version.

“We did so much improv on this one that we can literally replace every single joke in the movie and put in alt scenes and alt improv runs," McKay revealed. "I think the editor’s working on it right now, with 250 new jokes. I think it would be really funny to put it in theaters for midnight showings. I know that I, personally, if I loved a movie and someone told me that, like, if 'Airplane!' had been released with all-new jokes, I’d be like, ‘You’ve got to be f--king kidding me!’ I’d see it in a second.”

That's just what "Anchorman" fans will be able to do, if this plan comes to fruition. No specific release details have been determined, so it seems likely that an alternate version could become fodder for the DVD's special features. Until then, we can all just cross our fingers for an impending double feature, as if 113 minutes of one "Anchorman" sequel won't suffice.

Box office update: 'Bad Grandpa' wins Friday with $12.6 million as 'The Counselor' flops with 'D' CinemaScore

Even without the rest of the Jackass crew, Johnny Knoxville scored with his latest irreverent prank movie, Jackass Presents: Bad Grandpa, which topped the chart on Friday with an excellent $12.6 million. The film, which cost Paramount about $15 million to make, is expected to gross $30 million this weekend. Not a bad return on investment! Audiences issued the film a lukewarm “B” CinemaScore grade.

Bad Grandpa‘s success meant that Gravity finally had to give up its spot atop the chart. Warner Bros’ $100 million space drama starring Sandra Bullock and George Clooney grossed $6.2 million yesterday, a drop of just 32 percent from the previous Friday, which sets it up for a $21.5 million weekend and just over $200 million total after four frames.

One rung below, Captain Phillips dropped just 29 percent from last Friday to $3.6 million, meaning it will sail away with nearly $12 million in its third box office voyage. By Sunday night, the $55 million Tom Hanks drama will have accrued about $70 million total.

All the way down in fourth place, Ridley Scott’s star-studded drama The Counselor failed to bring in crowds — despite the appeal of stars Michael Fassbender, Cameron Diaz, and Brad Pitt. Fox’s $25 million film grossed a measly $3.2 million, setting The Counselor up for a weekend in the $8.5 million range. Granted, that’s not as bad as The Fifth Estate‘s opening last weekend, but it’s surprisingly awful given the talent involved. Distressingly, audiences stamped The Counselor, which has earned weak reviews, with a dismissive “D” CinemaScore grade.

The Hunger Games actress (or perhaps a stuntwoman) is also seen showing off some impressive acrobatic skills as she balances on her hands, her legs in the air as she fights off an attacker.

Finally, Jennifer is seen being dragged along the ground by someone using just his hand from afar.

She shows off her slender figure in a skintight bodysuit, with more textured pieces to create a reptile effect.

Jennifer's real life boyfriend Nicholas Hoult, meanwhile, appears in blink-and-you'll-miss-it shot, baring his wolf fangs in his role as Hank McCoy/Beast.

Like Jennifer, his face his blue, including his hair, and he wears a rusty brown T-shirt and navy blue jacket.

As fans of the first X-Men sequel will know, Nicholas' character Hank McCoy tried to cure himself of his mutation, which causes him to have ape-like feet and super strength. However, the cure backfired, and Hank's transformation into Beast began.

David Herman, Former NYC Rock DJ, Arrested In Child Sex Sting

A retired New York radio personality has been charged in a sting operation with trying to transport a 7-year-old girl to the U.S. Virgin Islands for sex.

David Herman, 77, of Airmont, N.Y., and St. Croix, was arrested Thursday at the St. Croix airport, where federal authorities said he had expected to meet the girl and her mother flying in from New York.

Herman thought he'd been corresponding online with a woman about her child but was actually talking to an undercover officer from Bergen County in New Jersey, according to U.S. Attorney Paul Fishman.

The U.S. attorney's office confirmed Herman had worked at FM radio station WNEW, where he was a pioneering rock 'n' roll disc jockey. Herman was scheduled to make an initial court appearance Friday in St. Croix.

Prosecutors said they had not been notified as of Thursday afternoon whether Herman had a lawyer. No phone listing was found for him in Airmont.

Herman allegedly believed he was communicating with a 36-year-old single mother with a young daughter, according to court papers. He allegedly tried, in multiple telephone and online conversations, to arrange illegal sexual encounters with the child in New York and Bergen County, until indicating he wanted to fly the pair to St. Croix so he could engage in sexual activity with the child there, prosecutors said.

Herman purchased airline tickets Sept. 30 for the woman and her child to fly from LaGuardia airport to St. Croix, according to prosecutors. He arrived at the airport Thursday to pick up the woman and child, according to the U.S. attorney's office, but was instead met by special agents of U.S. Homeland Security and Immigration and Customs Enforcement, who placed him under arrest.

Herman is charged with a count of attempting to transport a minor in interstate commerce with the intent that the minor engage in illegal sexual activity. If convicted, the charge can carry up to life in prison and a maximum $250,000 fine.

A Gorilla Scares Actress Anna Friel Away!

Actress Anna Friel says she was terrified when while shooting a wildlife documentary in Africa, a gorilla charged at one of her crew members.

The 37-year-old headed to Uganda in August this year to make a film highlighting the plight of mountain gorillas, but the Trip almost ended in a nightmare for her when a silverback primate turned on one of the members, reports contactmusic.com.

A Gorilla Scares Anna Friel Away! "We got charged by a silverback, which was, erm... okay! We were told to act passive and submissive but it goes against every single instinct in the body when you see a huge thing making a loud screeching noise... and you are not allowed to run," Friel told Hello magazine. "You have to stay and go, 'I'm a tree and there's a big thing running at me'. "We heard this almighty sound as one crashed through the trees towards our photographer and came this close and then swung away again.

It was like someone going, 'Yeah? Come on then,' showing their power and that it's their forest. My heart was pumping." Friel made her debut in films in 1998 in David Leland's Land Girls.

She has since then made a number of films appearing with notable co-stars as Christian Bale, Gerard Butler, Colin Farrell, Keira Knightley, Robert De Niro, Will Ferrell, and Rachel Weisz. Outside of film, Anna Friel is probably best known in the USA for her work as Charlotte "Chuck" Charles in the ABC comedy series Pushing Daisies for which she was nominated for a Golden Globe Award in 2008.
