While Katie Holmes' theatrical split from Tom Cruise made celeb hounds' jaws drop, her latest move is sure to spread grins across the Great White Way. The 33-year-old actress will return to Broadway this fall in Theresa Rebeck's "Dead Accounts," it was announced Thursday.

"I am thrilled to be coming back to the Broadway community and honored to be a part of this team," Holmes said in a statement.

Holmes made her Broadway debut in the 2008 revival of Arthur Miller's "All My Sons." On its opening night, about 35 protesters from the group Anonymous carried signs reading, "Run, Katie, Run" and chanting "Scientology kills."

The actress has revealed a number of projects in rapid succession since her split from Cruise (and the church of Scientology), from a guest appearance on "Project Runway" to "Molly," a film she co-wrote and is co-producing. "Dead Accounts," however, will be her first major role.

The play, which premiered at Cincinnati's Playhouse in the Park back in February, follows a Midwestern family, with the drama circling around the prodigal son Jack who unexpectedly returns home from New York to Cincinnati. Holmes will play his sister, Lorna, who has been caring for their parents.

Rebeck was a creator and executive producer of "Smash" ("was" being the operative word) and her latest play, "Seminar," starring Alan Rickman, was a Pulitzer Prize finalist.

"Dead Accounts" will open on Broadway at the Music Box Theatre. Other casting for the play has not yet been announced.

"The Amazing Spider-Man" has been a welcome financial success for Sony -- the film has earned over $530 million worldwide thus far -- but in some quarters it was criticized for not being very coherent. As Devin Faraci pointed out on his site Badass Digest, whole chunks of storyline that Sony used while marketing "The Amazing Spider-Man" were not present in the actual finished film.

"It's completely false," director Marc Webb told HuffPost Entertainment when asked about jettisoning a rumored storyline about Peter Parker's parents. While that may very well be accurate, it's clear that Webb had quite an grueling time while making "The Amazing Spider-Man."

"I want to finish this up and go to a beach and think about the future," Webb said when asked about returning for another Spider-Man film. "People ask about the sequel and I'm like, 'Well, you know, I don't know if I want to do that, but I love the process.' I love Andrew and Emma. But it's like asking someone who has just given birth, 'Do you want to get pregnant again?'"

Now it appears Webb may not even have that option.

"We'd really like him back, but there are obstacles," Sony Pictures chief Douglas Belgrad told The Hollywood Reporter. "He has an obligation to Fox." As THR notes, Webb is under contract with Fox to deliver another film for the studio, following "(500) Days of Summer," his first film.

Of course, when asked about any "problem areas" with Webb's blockbuster, Belgrad was pretty honest. "The section where Rhys Ifans' character turns irrevocably into the Lizard. It took several months to figure out, and the filmmakers cut a bunch of scenes. In software parlance, it required a patch."

With or without Webb, Sony is going full-steam ahead with "The Amazing Spider-Man 2"; bockbuster writers Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci ("Transformers," "Star Trek") have come onboard for the sequel.

A revolutionary discovery is rewriting the history of underwear: Some 600 years ago, women wore bras.

The University of Innsbruck said Wednesday that archeologists found four linen bras dating from the Middle Ages in an Austrian castle. Fashion experts describe the find as surprising because the bra had commonly been thought to be only little more than 100 years old as women abandoned the tight corset.

Instead, it appears the bra came first, followed by the corset, followed by the reinvented bra.

One specimen in particular “looks exactly like a (modern) brassiere,” says Hilary Davidson, fashion curator for the London Museum. “These are amazing finds.”

Victoria’s Secret might get credit for reinventing the brassiere, but the earliest-known bras now date back to the Middle Ages,  according to Austrian archeologists at the University of Innsbruck.

The university said Wednesday that it found four linen bras in an Austrian castle dating back to the 1400s, proving that women wore bras more than 600 years ago. It’s such a revolutionary find because fashion experts thought the modern-day bra was only about 100 years old after women became tired of tight corsets.

One specimen in particular “looks exactly like a [modern] brassiere,” Hilary Davidson, fashion curator for the London Museum, told The Associated Press. “These are amazing finds.”

Some of the ancient bras were intricately decorated with lace, suggesting that they were meant to be seen by someone else other than the person wearing it.

Although the linen garments were discovered in 2008, they did not make news until now, says Beatrix Nutz, the archaeologist responsible for the discovery. Researchers said the bras underwent carbon dating and they had to make sure the look of the bras fit with the 1400s.

“We didn’t believe it ourselves,” Nutz said. “From what we knew, there was no such thing as bra-like garments in the 15th century.”

Among the more than 2,700 textile fragments that were found in the Lemberg Castle in Tyrol was a linen undergarment that looks like a pair of panties. Nutz said it is men’s underwear because women did not wear anything under their flowing skirts in the Middle Ages.

Police say a boy who was rushed to the hospital Tuesday after a sand tunnel collapsed over him at a beach in Long Branch, N.J., has died.


The 12-year-old, who has not been identified, was not breathing when he was pulled out of the sand late Tuesday afternoon, officials said. Lifeguards administered CPR on him, and he was taken to Monmouth Medical Center where he was placed in pediatric intensive care unit.


Witnesses at the beach said blood was coming out of the boy's nose when lifeguards were working on him.

Someone screamed for help from lifeguards, who were just 15 feet away, said Roebuck. The boy was pulled out, and lifeguards performed CPR on him as they waited for paramedics.

A beachgoer from Staten Island, N.Y., said the boy wasn't moving.

"They were pumping him, pressing on his stomach, trying to bring him back," she said. "They kept trying to revive him, pressing, pressing. There was blood coming out of his nose... He didn't move."

Sources said the tunnel was deep, and the weight of all the sand on the boy's chest made it impossible for him to breathe.

The boy was rushed to Monmouth Medical Center, where he was taken to the pediatric intensive care unit.

The boy is from Oakhurst, sources said, but his name is being withheld.

Authorities said a fire truck responding to the scene hit a man holding his infant son. The truck hit the pair as it pulled into Ocean Place near the beach, knocking them both to the ground.

Both were taken to the Jersey Shore Medical Center. The father suffered some broken limbs. The baby was injured but not severely.

An elaborate and illegal camouflaged residence, outfitted with bunk beds and a barbecue patio, has been discovered near a Los Angeles County animal refuge.

Eight months ago, Robert Downs, 51, set up a small structure in the woods near the Tujunga Ponds Wildlife Sanctuary in Sunland, Calif. To hide his home from police, Downs, who was previously homeless, sprayed it with camouflage paint and cut down nearby trees, said Johnie Jones, a deputy in the Parks Bureau of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

The structure, which Downs built with materials he bought at Home Depot, contained four bunk beds built into the walls, tables, shelves and fire extinguishers. Outside were a rock patio, a barbecue grill and more tables. An American flag was draped over Downs' bed.

Downs stood a chance of evading major legal trouble for his hidden house, but sheriff's deputies also discovered that he cultivated eight marijuana plants outside the structure, a felony because he did not have a permit to do so, Jones said.

When Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department deputies found Downs's residence while on patrol Monday, he told them he had been living in the 13.5-acre wildlife sanctuary for more than a year, Jones said.

"He seems like he had some skills," Jones said. "I've seen homeless sweeps before where people have brought tents or mattresses, but nothing this elaborate."

Downs was arrested on charges of marijuana cultivation and building a house on county property, Jones said. He is being held on a $30,000 bond, Jones said.

Downs was found with two others who were cited with infractions and then released, Jones said.

The Los Angeles County Department of Public Works will remove the structure from the park over the next two weeks.

Spencer and Hanna are on a mission to swap out Garrett's "April Rose has the proof" note under his mom's hospital bracelet with one they've written, thanks to Hanna's expert forging skills. Their note asks A to meet them by the organ at the deserted church that night and Hanna wants to be the messenger since she's still heartbroken that "this A" broke her and Caleb up.

But when Hanna enters Mrs. Reynolds room and lifts her hand to insert the note, she flatlines and Hanna jets out of there faster than Mrs. Reynolds will ever move again.

They text Aria, who is apparently living at Ezra's and doing an incredibly cheesy photoshoot to motivate her about her new assistant gig. He's also wearing pajama pants. Just so you know. Despite the literally "so happy" lyrics playing in the background as they snap away, I'm still not okay with this student-teacher relationship, former status aloud.

Over in another uncomfortable relationship, Spencer and Toby are at the Parentless Hastings House, where Spencer's googling "April Rose, PA." They start making out, I start to gag, and then, Papa Hastings arrives! (After months.) He's been out going for a run. Apparently, he's Forrest Gump because holy s--- that was a long run. "They make it seem like he's always been there," my mom laments, before asking, "When Spencer was googling April Rose--did it say ob/gyn?" The plot thickens.

Anyway, Toby leaves and Papa Hastings reveals the upsetting information that key evidence from the prosecution in Garrett's case may be dropped, which means Garrett would be free. Upon hearing the news, Spencer quickly leaves in a huff as her dad asks where she's going. "Um Peter, tell me you possibly care when you the most absentee Dad there ever was," my mom scolds. Z snap.

Over at The Brew, Hanna brings a hard-working Emily the pick-up location of the clothing donations that included the jacket she was wearing the night it (and she) went missing. Em wants to go check it out today, but Hanna says they have to focus on Operation A tonight, so they'll go tomorrow.

Meanwhile, Spencer has relocated to a bench and traded her laptop for an iPad, on which she is still googling April Rose. Jason appears and he's just the person Spencer wants to talk to. My mom also notes, "He's bow legged ... or maybe he was just riding a horse through the streets of Rosewood." He confirms the news Papa Hastings shared and she says he's their last hope at saving the case.

She asks if Jason knows April Rose and before we hear his answer, we see Papa Hastings looking -- no, glaring -- at them. Turns out, Jason doesn't remember April Rose, but could have met her with all the girls the NAT Club had hanging around and not even known it. Spencer does her best Chris Hansen and questions Jason about the videos they made. He reveals he thought Ian and Garrett were paying girls to set up their friends, and April Rose could have been one of those employees.

At the church, Hanna is sorting clothing items by season and Ted is talking about wanting to look like Cat Stevens and wanting to hang out with Hanna's mom. ("I liked Cat Stevens too," my mom says. Note the past tense.) For all Hanna's hard work, Ted also invites her to a thank you party, which will be held at the church ... tonight. Looks like there's a glitch with Operation A.

Sofia Vergara might have just celebrated her 40th birthday with a surprise engagement, but hopefully the "Modern Family" star has some more spare time in her schedule to celebrate being named the highest-paid actress on television.

Forbes estimates that Vergara raked in approximately $19 million between May 2011 and May 2012. At the same time, Latin WE, the media company she co-founded in 1996, pulled in a total of $27 million.

Vergara's face is seemingly everywhere these days: She endorses major brands like CoverGirl and Diet Pepsi and she even has her own clothing line at Kmart.

Ang’s husband Neil is getting a third chance, as Ang allows him to move back into her house.  He hopes his wife will welcome him home with a delicious dinner.  Ang is too busy being stressed by the amount of boxes he’s unloading.  She and her ginormous breasts tell Neil that third time has to be the charm or he’s done for good.

At her sister’s request, Ang goes to the cardiologist.  She says a lot of stuff that I think warrants subtitles.  I may have picked up on the fact that she has to monitor her stool at home, and Ang is appalled about having to place her poop (my word, not hers…duh) in the mail.  I hope I’m wrong.  She chats with her doctor and reveals that she’s there because someone mentioned that she looked like a heart attack waiting to happen.  Her doctor explains that her check-up was fine, but she really needs to quit smoking.  Judging on her voice alone, he can tell that she’s a longtime smoker.  Ang gets a huge kick out of this revelation and rewards him with a raspy laugh.  He warns her that a heart attack or cancer will be the least of her concerns if she doesn’t quit.  I think he may want her to lay off the tanning as well until I remember it’s of the spray variety.

Ang’s sister Janine comes to her house and is mortified with all the junk that Neil is trying to move into her house.  Janine is overwhelmed by Ang’s fur collection.  I am too.&
; Ang tells Janine that she is thinking about purchasing a new house so she and Neil can actually fit in their space.  She’s found the perfect house, so she and Janine make plans to check out the potential new digs.

After her doctor’s appointment, Ang has implemented a self-imposed detox.  No smoking, no drinking, and she will work out every day.  She enlists her bartender Anthony to help her get in shape.  I think she’d do better off with the cast of Jersey Shore.  At least she’d get some laundry done.  She can’t GT, much less GTL.  Janine and Ang tour the home Ang hopes to buy.  It is so much bigger and nicer than the duplex she currently occupies.  The realtor is frightened when Ang jokes about putting a stripper pole in the living room.  She is over the moon to find the indoor jacuzzi.

Lil Jen and Ang go shopping in search of workout clothes that will make her more apt to exercise.  Lil Jen is all about yoga, but Ang thinks it’s a “crazy cult.”  I love yoga, but I may love Big Ang more.  Ang decides that she and her tatas look best in tennis attire, so that is the sport she intends to try.  I guess that’s not the worst reason to take up tennis.  That night at the Drunken Monkey, Ang is bartending her face off…if one can actually do that.  Her friend Linda arrives and wants to know how Ang is faring not drinking or smoking.  Ang is having a very difficult time refraining.  Linda isn’t very supportive of Ang’s detox, and she tries to derail her at every turn.  Ang stays strong, and now she’s two days being smoke and booze free.

Big Ang and Lil Jen are trying their hand at tennis.  Ang doesn’t want to look like a fool in front of her instructor Sergio, but she feels more comfortable when he compliments her on her attire.  I think it’s safe to say that Ang won’t be the next Venus Williams.  Jen is in shock at how graceful Ang looks on the court.  Are we watching the same person?  After the lesson, Jen jokingly suggests a menage a trois, and poor Sergio looks like he may drop dead on the spot.  Ang does what everyone does after a day on the courts…she goes in for a colonic treatment.  I really don’t need to see the size or lubrication on the speculum being inserted into Ang’s bum.  Once it becomes clear that the attendant won’t even be getting the child-sized instrument into Ang’s “exit only hole,” she calls it a day.  She wants a drink and a smoke stat. Because two weekends with identical line-ups performing at each aren't enough, Coachella is rumored to be adding a cruise to its offerings.

UPDATED: It's official! The S.S. Coachella will make two voyages this December. From the 16-19, the ship will set sail for the Bahamas, followed by a jaunt to Jamaica from the 19-23. The line-up will include Pulp, Hot Chip, Yeasayer, Girl Talk, James Murphy (who will be DJ'ing), Sleigh Bells, Simian Mobile Disco and more. The cheapest rooms are for double-occupancy cabins which start at $750, though a $200 per-person fee will be added at checkout.

The rumors, which were reported in The Los Angeles Times, claim that Goldenvoice (the company which produces the festival in Indio, California) plans to set sail from Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Trips could begin as soon as December of this year.

Goldenvoice tweeted a photo yesterday which teased a 6 p.m. (PST) Tuesday announcement. Though sources cannot confirm the production company is unveiling cruise plans today, but Coachella would not be the first brand to expand onto the seas.

Holy Ship! debuted in January of last year. The dance music cruise features internationally known DJs and producers, and a second voyage has been set for January 4-7, 2013. As the Times notes, bands like Weezer, KISS and Kid Rock have also hosted cruises for their fans.

In any case, stranger things have happened. After all, Coachella provided the setting for Tupac's resurrection.*

Rumors that Coachella plans to leave its long-time home at the Indio Polo Field erupted after city council members hinted at a new ticket tax. Goldenvoice President Paul Tollett was quoted in The Desert Sun as saying, "If the tax initiative of putting $4 million to $6 million onto Coachella gets on the ballot we’re going to take off 2014; 2015 we’ll be at a new facility outside of Indio."

Same-sex marriages aren't recognized in most states, but Target stores nationwide are now selling greeting cards to celebrate them.

Placed on card racks under the headings of "For two special men" and "For two special women," the cards are adorned with phrases such as "Mr. & Mr." and "Two very special women, one very special love."

The cards hit shelves in mid-June, a month after the retailer began selling T-shirts with gay pride themes, and two years after Target drew a backlash for a $150,000 donation it made to a group backing Tom Emmer, the Republican gubernatorial candidate who opposed gay marriage.

Target offers a range of greeting cards that appeal to a variety of audiences, including the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community, spokeswoman Molly Snyder said.

"Target is focused on diversity and inclusivity," she said.

The cards are made by Carlton Cards, a unit of American Greetings, whose spokeswoman Patrice Sadd said the company and Target jointly decided to offer "wedding cards relevant for everyone."

More businesses are courting the gay community, even at the risk of alienating some customers. Other companies, including Minnesota-based food giant General Mills, have publicly backed same-sex marriage -- a step Target hasn't taken.

Hallmark has been offering cards for same-sex couples to retailers since 2008, though Target doesn't carry that brand.

In November, Minnesotans will take to the polls to vote on a proposed constitutional amendment to define marriage as a union between a man and a woman.

Minnesotans for Marriage, a group opposing same-sex marriage, denounced Target for its gay pride support. When asked about the greeting cards, spokesman Chuck Darrell said in an e-mail that "people can love whoever they want, however they don't have a right to force same-sex marriage on all of society."

Historically, companies have worried that marketing openly to gay people would drive away other customers, said Witeck Communications CEO Bob Witeck, who studies the gay community.

"What Target and other marketers have figured out is it's not a zero-sum game," he said. "The rewards of marketing to gay households are greater than the perceived risks."

In 2010, Target wasn't the only company that donated to MN Forward, which supported Emmer. The company has said it contributed because of the group's tax and jobs platform. But Target ended up drawing more ire than Best Buy and other companies that supported the group.

That's because the donation contrasted with the gay-friendly reputation the company held for so long, said Akshay Rao, a marketing professor at the University of Minnesota.

"All the actions Target has taken since the MN Forward kerfuffle have been friendly to the gay community," Rao said, "and this is one more in those long line of steps."

From a purely business standpoint, adding the cards is "a perfectly logical thing to do," Rao said.

Witeck's research indicates that the purchasing power of the country's LGBT population this year is $790 billion, or roughly $49,000 per adult.

Surveys shows that the groups most coveted by many retailers -- particularly the young and the educated -- tend to be accepting of gay people, Rao said, making some companies less averse to marketing to gay consumers.

In May, Target began featuring T-shirts with gay pride themes on its website, and donated proceeds from sales to the Family Equality Council, which supports LGBT families. Target has for years partnered with the council and sponsored the Twin Cities Pride festival. The T-shirts sold out last month.

President Barack Obama arrived courtside Monday night to loud cheers and Bruce Springsteen's "Born in the USA" as he took his seat to watch an exhibition basketball game between the Brazilian and U.S. men's national teams.

Obama was accompanied by Vice President Joe Biden and former White House aide Reggie Love at the Verizon Center in the nation's capital, according to White House pool reports. Some audience members later spotted another member of the presidential party.

"At USA-Brazil basketball, @Barack Obama & @MichelleObama were just on big screen kisscam but no kiss," CNN anchor Wolf Blitzer tweeted.

A pool report confirmed that the presidential spectator "smiled," but "didn't kiss" Michelle Obama when the couple were caught on the arena's giant Kiss Cam screens. The crowd booed in response.

The president, sporting a dark blue Under Armour zip-up, greeted American women's national team members after they defeated Brazil 99-67 earlier in the evening. Michelle Obama wore a navy blue sleeveless dress.

"Work up a sweat, ladies?" Obama asked before reminding the players that the U.S. "could not be prouder" of their athletic achievements.

During a halftime interview on ESPN 2, Obama said "there's no reason" the U.S. should not "bring home the gold" at the Summer Olympics in London later this month.

Tomorrowland, the biggest music festival in the world, is coming to you. Tomorrowland TV, a new partnership between concert organizers and YouTube, will feature eight hours of live streaming per day.

The channel will showcase the work of 173 staff members, working from an on-site studio and select spots throughout the 65-acre grounds in Belgium. Last year's festival drew over 180,000 dance music revelers, and this year looks to be even bigger, with 400 DJs and three full days of raving (festival dates: July 27-29). Organizers say over 2 million people digitally lined up to purchase a ticket, an encouraging sign for the streaming TV channel.

The lineup will include Skrillex, Swedish House Mafia (who are supposedly breaking up and will hopefully perform a set that doesn't include any stabbings), Steve Aoki, Afrojack, David Guetta and Avicii. Live performances will be a part of the coverage, but Tomorrowland is well-known for its extensive theatrics, wild stage designs and even more adventurous festival grounds (there's a Church of Love, where attendees are afforded time to ... consumate their love).

On its end, YouTube will host the content and rake in revenue from banner ads and pre-roll. Tomorrowland will reportedly receive a share of those earnings as well.

Miami's 2012 Ultra Music Festival also had a live-streaming channel. UMFTV broadcast from each day of the event, but focused primarily on live-sets.

As dance music continues to explode in the United States, many have looked toward festivals in Europe for adventures currently unavailable in America. Though Las Vegas' Electric Daisy Carnival comes close in production value and Ultra draws massive crowds, Tomorrowland remains in a slightly different class. (New York-area festivals are almost always limited by early curfews, so they can't really be compared to Europe's all-night affairs.)

Billionaire Mark Zuckerberg is giving new meaning to the term "the one percent."

The Facebook Inc. (FB) founder refinanced a $5.95 million mortgage on his Palo Alto, California, home with a 30-year adjustable-rate loan starting at 1.05 percent, according to public records for the property.

While almost all lending rates have reached historical lows this year, the borrowing costs available to high-net-worth individuals are even lower if the person is willing to bear the risk of monthly interest rate adjustments, said Greg McBride, senior financial analyst with Bankrate Inc., a North Palm Beach, Florida-based firm that tracks interest rates. Large increases are unlikely anytime soon with the Federal Reserve signaling it will keep interest rates near zero for at least two years.

"When you can borrow at a rate below inflation, you're borrowing for free," McBride said in an e-mail. "This is the concept of using other people's money and it preserves financial flexibility for the borrower."


"The one percent" is a phrase popularized last year by the Occupy Wall Street movement to protest growing U.S. income inequality. The top one percent of Americans earns a fifth of the country's income and controls more than a third of its wealth, according to Joseph E. Stiglitz, a Nobel Prize-winning economist, whose book "The Price of Inequality," was published last month.

The average rate on a one-year adjustable mortgage was 2.69 percent on July 12, up from a record low 2.68 percent a week earlier, according to Freddie Mac, the McLean, Virginia-based mortgage-finance company. The average rate for a 30-year fixed loan fell to a record low 3.56 percent on July 12. Freddie Mac doesn't survey rates for loans that adjust monthly.

Egypt is working with U.S. Embassy officials to secure the release of 61-year-old Boston pastor Rev. Michel Louis and two others who were abducted while on a church trip to the Middle East, U.S. officials told NBC News on Sunday.

The son of Louis told The Associated Press that his father was on a church trip to retrace Jesus' steps through the Holy Land with 23 other members of the clergy and worshippers when he was abducted. Along with him, a 39-year-old Boston woman in the group and a tour guide were kidnapped Friday.

The AP said an Egyptian Bedouin, Jirmy Abu-Masuh, was the captor – and that he was demanding police release his uncle from prison. It reported Abu-Masuh vowed to take more hostages of different nationalities if his demands were not met.

Gov. Gen. Tayeb Mabrouk of North Sinai said Sunday authorities are seeking to get the kidnapper's uncle released in exchange for the freedom of the three hostages, accoeding to NBC News. The kidnapper has refused to negotiate with three tribal Bedouin chiefs until his uncle is freed. He gave a 24-hour deadline to release his uncle but authorities have asked for more time, NBC News reported. The hostages are fine and being treated as guests, the kidnapper told authorities.

North Sinai authorities have been given orders by the ministry of interior to resolve the situation.


"He's been doing it for the past four years now, and this just turned out to be a little different from any other year," said the younger Louis, who works as a youth pastor at a church founded by his father. "He's a diabetic, so we'd like the person that, or the people that have him in captivity, to know that. We're just concerned for his health. But we know that the governments are working very hard negotiating."

A spokesman for the U.S. Embassy told NBC News it was in close touch with the Egyptian authorities as negotiations continue, and that Egypt was “working hard to resolve the situation and bringing about a safe release of the hostages.”

The abduction took place along the road linking Cairo to the sixth-century St. Catherine's Monastery, located at the foot of Mount Sinai where the Old Testament says Moses received the stone tablets with the Ten Commandments.

Nobody would talk about it publicly, but everybody whispered behind closed doors. Katrina Kaif’s sister’s alleged MMS clip became quite a rage when it came out. Delhi Metro will start inducting eight coach trains on its network by this December to tackle the ever-increasing rush and has begun conducting mandatory tests on a train that has been assembled.

The eight coach trains will be pressed into services on the busy Noida and Gurgaon corridors that record a combined daily footfall of over 13 lakh commuters.

Delhi Metro has already placed orders for procurement of 212 new coaches for conversion of six coach and four coach trains into eight coach trains.

By the year 2015, all the trains operational on Lines 2 (Jahangirpuri–HUDA City Centre) and 3/4 (Dwarka–NOIDA City Centre/Vaishali) will be either six coach or eight coach trains.

These additional coaches are scheduled to start arriving from September onwards and the first eight coach train is expected to be operational by the end of this year.

As part of the process, an eight coach train has been assembled at the Khyberpass Metro depot, on which various tests and examinations are currently being done.

"During the non-revenue hours in the night time, this train is also running from the Khyberpass to the Najafgarh Metro depot and vice-versa," Delhi Metro spokesman Anuj Dayal said.

Stringent 'Type Tests' are being done on this eight coach train, as part of which various aspects of Metro operations such as signaling, safety, speed pick up, jerking, breaking etc are being checked and observed.

These tests are expected to continue for another 15 to 20 days.

Dayal said the process of changing the number of coaches of a train involves lot of technical expertise for carrying out the necessary integration and commissioning activities.

A team of seven-eight dedicated DMRC engineers and contractors' engineers carry out several rounds of testing to make it ready for passenger service, he said.

The sudden and unexpected passing of Sage Stallone, 36, on Friday night is said to have "devastated" his father Sylvester Stallone.

The father and son duo had reportedly grown close in recent years, though their relationship certainly had its rough spots. In a 1996 interview with People magazine, Sage -- who was raised by Stallone's first wife, Sasha, after his parents divorced in 1985 -- discussed playing the son of Rocky Balboa in 1990's "Rocky V."

"When I was screaming, 'You never spent time with me! You never spent time with my mother!'—that was true," Sage said. "I was looking into my father's face and really saying that."

But eventually, "everything changed," and the two mended their relationship, he told People. They reteamed on big screen  in the 1996 action movie "Daylight." Stallone was his son's No. 1 advocate on that project. "I didn't realize how much of a stage mother I had become," he joked to People. Director Rob Cohen says the reinvigorated relationship between them was clear to everyone on set. "Between takes, Sly and Sage would roll around in the dirt like two puppies," Cohen told People.

Though the two may have shared the same handsome looks, they couldn't be any more different.

"Sage has chosen an entirely different route," said Stallone of his son. "He's interested in a different type of filmmaking. And he avoids the gym like the plague."

In 1996, Sage teamed up with film editor Bob Murawski to launch Grindhouse Releasing, which restores cult films and produces documentaries. More recently, he directed the 2006 short "Vic," which screened at the Palm Springs Film Festival.

"He was very respectful of all the actors in all the movies," Sage's attorney, George Braunstein, told the Associated Press. "You couldn't mention a movie that he didn't know everything about.

"He was a full of life filmmaker with his whole future ahead of him," Braunstein said of Sage (who was planning to wed for the first time). "He was just very up and enthusiastic and positive."

Added the attorney, "He was very proud of his father and proud to be his father's son."

Sage Stallone was found unresponsive in his L.A. home Friday. Police have found no signs of foul play or trauma, and the cause of death remains unclear.

It's recently been reported that Holmes has enrolled Suri in the prestigious $38,000 a year Catholic all-girls school in Manhattan, Convent of the Sacred Heart, once attended by Lady GaGa, Paris and Nicky Hilton and Caroline Kennedy. The move to put Suri in school most likely could not have happened, if the former Dawson's Creek star hadn't filed for sole custody in her divorce from the dedicated Scientologist. Holmes now has primary custody of Suri under the terms of the settlement and the Mission: Impossible star will have visitation rights, but the actress was given the lead role in choosing how Suri will be educated. Her parents may have officially split, but Suri's life appears to be taking a turn for the best!

The CEO of Denver-based internet start-up FullContact API said in a market that is competitive for top talent, he wants to keep his employees happy and refreshed.

The flip-flop wearing founder offers his employees $7,500 for what he calls "paid, paid vacation," however there are rules.

"One, you actually have to take a vacation to get the money," Lorang said. "Two, you have to disconnect from work, so that means no calls, no emails, no tweets, no work of any kind."

Even Lorang admitted he has trouble following his rules.

"I suck at it," he said.

Geraldo Rivera stuck his foot in his mouth again on Friday while discussing Chicago murders on Fox & Friends. He said that some of the homicides occurred because victims wore "thug wear." He then patted himself on the back and resurrected his controversial comment that unarmed Florida teen Trayvon Martin's hoodie was as much to blame for his death as the man who shot and killed him, according to Mediaite.
"I was right about the hoodie wasn't I," said Rivera. "I hate to brag, but I got criticized by every pundit in America when I said Trayvon Martin would be alive today but for the fact that he was wearing thug wear -- he was wearing the hoodie. Turns out now that we look at George Zimmerman's interviews with the police; he didn't profile Trayvon Martin because he was black, he profiled him because he was wearing a hoodie."

Salma Hayek plays a ruthless drug cartel queen in Oliver Stone's "Savages," and the director says that she brought some of that intensity to the set of the film as well.

"This woman gets what she wants. She knows what she wants," Stone said of Hayek during a press conference in Mexico City. "She told everybody on the set, 'I want a blue dress. I want it to be pinned this way. I'm not going to go on the set unless my dress is right.' She was tough. And sometimes we had to wait in the sun."

Hayek normally brings her daughter, Valentina, on to film sets, but she didn't for "Savages."

"This was the only movie that she was not on the set,” Hayek told Jay Leno on "The Tonight Show." Based on Don Winslow's novel of the same name, "Savages" is filled with violence and sex, things not necessarily appropriate for a 4-year-old like Valentina.

“I usually bring her on the set and she always likes to sit right next to the monitor and she bosses everyone around," Hayek joked.

Not that Valentina's behavior would have been tolerated. Stone runs a tight ship, as co-star Blake Lively told David Letterman. The actress bought the crew "I Survived Oliver Stone" t-shirts when the shoot ended, because "they needed something nice after working with him for that long."

Police in India have recovered the skeletal remains of half-a-dozen people from a pit at missing Bollywood starlet Laila Khan's luxury Igatpuri farmhouse.

According to Mumbai's Joint Commissioner of Police, Himanshu Roy, the pit containing the human remains -- a pit they believe was initially intended for an underground water tank -- was 12 feet long, 8 feet wide and 6 feet deep. Inside it, three sets of remains were found covered with mud and stones on top of a blood-soaked mattress. Beneath the mattress, authorities recovered three additional sets of skeletal remains, another mattress, and possible murder weapons.

"We recovered one iron rod with blood stains on it and two knives with bloodstains on them," Roy said at a Thursday press conference.

Roy added that "substantial injuries, including head injuries" were observed on the victims.

A positive identification of the victims -- one male and five females -- is pending DNA testing; however, Roy said it is "reasonably likely that these skeletons belong to Laila Khan and her family."

Laila Khan, born Reshma Patel, was best known for her role opposite Rajesh Khanna in the 2008 Bollywood film, "A Deadly Love Story." At the time of her disappearance, she was in the process of shooting a film with Bollywood film director Rakesh Sawant.

Khan, 30, her mother Saleena Patel, older sister Hashmina, twin siblings Imran and Zara, and cousin Rehshma have been missing since February 2011. The family had been staying at Khan's farmhouse -- a holiday home -- since late the previous month.

The family was reported missing by Sawant and Patel's ex-husband, Nadir Shah Patel. Authorities were unable to find any trace of Khan or her family and the case soon went cold.

On June 21 of this year, authorities got their first break when they questioned Khan's stepfather, Parvez Iqbal Tak. During the interview, Tak allegedly told police several stories, including one that he and the house watchman, Shakir Hussain, had killed Khan and her five family members and buried their bodies behind her holiday home.

Tak, who claims to be Patel's third husband, allegedly said he was jealous of her second husband, Asif Sheikh.

Dwight Howard isn't the only big man on the minds of the Los Angeles Lakers' front office staff these days.

One source familiar with the trade negotiations said Thursday that calls between the Houston Rockets and Lakers discussing a three-way trade have cooled, while the Atlanta Hawks appear to be gaining steam in their pursuit of Howard.

With Howard's eventual destination still anybody's guess, the Lakers are turning their attention to adding a backup big man or two.

The Lakers remain in negotiations with Jordan Hill, who averaged 4.7 points and 4.4 rebounds in seven regular-season games with L.A. after being acquired from the Houston Rockets at the trade deadline in March. Hill's agent, Bill Duffy, told ESPNLosAngeles.com on Wednesday that there was still some distance between the two sides, but he planned to circle back with Lakers general manager Mitch Kupchak before Hill made his final decision. The Lakers hold partial Bird rights to Hill and can offer him a maximum of $3,632,450 per season for up to five years.

Aside from Hill, appearing on the Lakers' "short list" of names they are hoping to add to the roster for the veteran's minimum are Antawn Jamison, Elton Brand and Jermaine O'Neal, according to a source familiar with the team's thinking.

The Lakers also have the "mini" mid-level exception available to them, beginning at $3 million a season, but prefer to hold off on using that in case a Howard deal goes down involving multiple players and they are left needing to fill a glaring void.

Not only is adding a backup big man a priority because signing Hill might not work out, but because Josh McRoberts and his expiring $3.1 million contract have drawn interest from other teams in potential Howard trade scenarios.

Jamison, 36, averaged 17.2 points and 6.3 rebounds last year for Cleveland in his 14th season in the league, but shot a career-low 40.3 percent from the field.

He was acquired by the Cavaliers via trade in 2009-10, the last season Lakers coach Mike Brown was at the helm for the Cavs. The Lakers are in competition with several other teams for Jamison's services, including Brooklyn, Golden State and Charlotte, and a source close to Jamison said on Thursday the Nets appeared to be his preferred destination at the moment.

The final one-year, $18 million remaining on Brand's contract was amnestied by Philadelphia on Thursday. Brand, 32, averaged 11.0 points and 7.2 rebounds for the 76ers last season. Brand will be first made available to teams under the salary cap through the waiver process, with under-the-cap teams able to bid on him. Dallas is under the cap and has interest in Brand, according to ESPN.com's Marc Stein.

Stevie Nicks has confirmed that Fleetwood Mac will get back together in 2013. During a segment on "CBS This Morning," the Fleetwood Mac frontwoman revealed that everyone was on board.

"It's the plan," she added. "Because that's what we do. I do my thing. And Lindsey [Buckingham] is out doing his thing now." Fleetwood Mac's last tour, 2009's “Unleashed,” featured a set of the band's greatest hits.

Nicks also opened up about the recent suicide of Fleetwood Mac guitarist Bob Welch. She said she was shocked to learn of his death last month, adding, "I can't even tell you what in the world would have pushed him to do something that crazy."
