Demi Lovato Calls Out Lady Gaga's SXSW Performance As 'Glamorizing' Eating Disorders

Following Lady Gaga's interesting, and debatably disturbing, SXSW performance, Demi Lovato took to Twitter to criticize the bit involving performance artist Millie Brown.

Lovato's struggles with eating disorders and addiction are well-known, and so she was quick to point out that Brown forcing herself to vomit all over Gaga was unacceptable. She stated that Gaga was glamorizing eating disorders and that the performance wasn't "cool" in any way whatsoever.
"Putting the word ART in it isn't a free card to do whatever you want without consequences," she tweeted.

Despite some passioned reactions from upset Gaga fans, Lovato continued to warn of the negative ways pop culture can impact others, especially someone with as much clout as Gaga.

However, in the end, Lovato reminded everyone that was still a Little Monster at heart. Read her tweets below.

'I became a little brat': Demi Lovato opens up to Ryan Seacrest about Joe Jonas, self harming and her troubled past

She has suffered through a troubled year after being very publicly admitted to rehab for 'emotional and physical issues.'
And now Demi Lovato, star of Disney Channel's TV show Sonny With A Chance, has revealed the extent of the problems which led to her seeking treatment last November.
'I became like a little brat on set,' she told Ryan Seacrest on his KIIS FM radio show this morning.

New single: Demi's single Skyscraper is about her recent struggles'I just had so much growing up to do, not that I ever intended to be that way. I just had so much going on in my head. It all just boiled up and I ended up doing things that I regret to this day.
The 18-year-old singer and actress ended up seeking help after allegedly punching a back up dancer during the South American leg of the Jonas Brothers tour.
'It was the elephant in the room,' she told Seacrest of her eating and cutting disorders.
'Everyone knew about it. It was affecting every aspect of my life. I was cranky, I was irritable, I was not pleasant really to work with.'
Demi, who is currently promoting her new single Skyscraper, entered a treatment centre last November in Illinois.
'My family’s known that I’ve had issues with food and eating for about six years now,' she said.
'I was able to check in with them but it got to a point where I just was lying, to everyone about eating and about being happy.
There’s a lot of pressure these days. I feel like I live in a city where no woman eats.'

Selena Gomez Talks Parents' Divorce: 'I Blamed My Mom A Lot'

n an E! Entertainment special that aired Wednesday night, teen queen Selena Gomez opened up about her parents' divorce.
Gomez, who was 5-year-old when her parents split, blamed her mother for the divorce--something she deeply regrets.
"I blamed my mom a lot [for the divorce] because I wanted a family so bad," Gomez said. "I wanted to have my mom and dad together. I remember just being angry with my mom. I still feel really bad about that."
Her mother Mandy Teefey, who became pregnant at age 16, recounts her daughter's difficulty coping with the split. "[Selena] would vent and yell at me and all I could do is just say, 'I'm sorry--but you'll understand someday,'" she said.
Today, Gomez defends single-parenthood and is grateful for her mother's many sacrifices.
"Having me at sixteen had to have been a big responsibility. My mom gave up everything for me and had, like, three jobs. She supported me, sacrificed her life for me," she said.
