  • Women Who Survived Theater Shooting Grieve for Hero Boyfriends

Of the 12 people killed in the Aurora theater shooting, four of them were men who made the ultimate sacrifice to protect their girlfriends. Now, each of these women are struggling to come to terms with both their grief and their gratitude.

Alexander Teves, 24, attended the midnight screening of "The Dark Knight Rises" with his girlfriend Amanda Lindgren , 24,and another friend.

When suspected gunman James Holmes opened fire in the sold out theater, Teves immediately lunged to block Lindgren from the gunfire.

"I was really, really confused at first about what was going on, so confused," Lindgren told ABC News. "But, it's like Alex didn't even hesitate. Because I sat there for a minute, not knowing what was going on, and he held me down and he covered my head and he said, 'Shh stay down. It's ok. Shh just stay down.' So I did."

Teves blocked the bullets from Lindgren but he was shot and killed. She was not hit.

"He was my angel that night, but he was my angel every day I knew him," Lindgren said. "I'm broken."

Lindgren reflected on the profoundly close relationship she had with Teves, saying that the couple would not go an hour in the day "without missing each other terribly."

"My other half was just ripped apart from me and so for me it's still unreal," she said. "I can't picture my life without him. How do you? When someone loves you that much and you love somebody that much…how do you believe that this is real? And of all places. We were in that theater, that specific room. We were just supposed to watch a movie."

When asked if she thought Teves knew he was putting himself in danger for her, Lindgren said, "I know he did. He'd do anything for me. He always told me that, too. I just wish I could have protected him the same way he protected me."

Teves' father Tom Teves is also devastated, but said that his son is still with him.

"I'm hollow. But Alex has come and brought me…from heaven, he's been bringing me hope," Teves told ABC News. "He's still my inspiration. And I know now more than ever that there is a God. Because of Alex. Because Alex is still coming through. Because that's the kind of man he is."

Elsewhere in theater nine, John Larimer and his girlfriend Julia Vojtsek went through a similar situation.

U.S. Navy Petty Officer 3rd Class John Larimer, 26, and his girlfriend Julia Vojtsek, 23, were sitting int the middle of the theater when the shooting began.

"John immediately and instinctively covered me and brought me to the ground in order to protect me from any danger," Vojtsek wrote in a statement. "Moments later, John knowingly shielded me from a spray of gunshots. It was then I believe John was hit with a bullet that would have very possibly struck me. I feel very strongly that I was saved by John and his ultimate kindness."

Andy Coulson and Rebekah Brooks to be charged over phone hacking

Prosecutors are to charge eight people, including Andy Coulson and Rebekah Brooks, in connection with the phone-hacking scandal at the News of the World.

Coulson, a former aide to the prime minister and ex-editor of the defunct Sunday tabloid, and Brooks, News International's former chief executive, will face charges in connection with the hacking of the phone of the murdered schoolgirl Milly Dowler.

The Crown Prosecution Service announcement means some of Rupert Murdoch's top former aides have been charged with criminal offences.

Among those charged were Stuart Kuttner, former managing editor of the News of the World, Ian Edmondson, former news editor, Greg Miskiw another former news editor, Neville Thurlbeck, former chief reporter, James Weatherup, former assistant news editor, and the private investigator Glenn Mulcaire.

Alison Levitt QC, principal legal adviser to the director of public prosecutions, announced the decision on Tuesday.

She said the charges related to allegations of phone hacking from 3 October 2000 to August 2006. The CPS will bring 19 charges in all, and say that 600 people were victims, ranging from victims of crime to politicians and celebrities.

Levitt said: "All, with the exception of Glenn Mulcaire, will be charged with conspiring to intercept communications without lawful authority, from 3 October 2000 to 9 August 2006. The communications in question are the voicemail messages of well-known people and/or those associated with them. There is a schedule containing the names of over 600 people whom the prosecution will say are the victims of this offence."

The CPS said victims included the former home secretaries David Blunkett and Charles Clarke, Tessa Jowell MP and her husband, David Mills, and Professor John Tulloch, a victim of the 7 July 2005 terrorist attacks on London.

The allegations that Milly Dowler's phone was hacked led to the News of the World's closure. Charged in relation to that were Coulson, Brooks, Kuttner, Miskiw, Thurlbeck, and Mulcaire.

In the years following the 2007 conviction of one of its journalists for phone hacking the royal household, News International insisted the practice was limited to one rogue reporter.

The charging decisions follow a Scotland Yard investigation that began last year, after police had repeatedly said for over a year that there was no need to reopen the investigation.

UFC 148: Silva vs. Sonnen 2 – Main Card Preview And Predictions

The Nation went 5 for 5 in his last set of predictions, and is now 23 of 32 overall.

Ivan Menjivar (24-8) vs. Mike Easton (12-1) – No strong opinion on this really. So uhm, Menjivar by decision.

Chad Mendes (11-1) vs. Cody McKenzie (13-2) – This is Mendes’ first fight since he lost his title match vs. Jose Aldo, Jr. He has a strong wrestling background, and trains with Team Alpha Male. McKenzie is a former TUF contestant who finishes most of his fights via the guillotine. That seems like a recipe for success for McKenzie – he is fighting  a wrestler who likes to shoot for the takedown and he can counter with a killer guillotine choke. The crazy thing about McKenzie’s guillotine is that everyone knows it’s coming (he’s won 11 of his 13 fights via the guillotine) and yet he still gets it on his opponent somehow. I don’t think he’ll be able to get it on Mendes though. Prediction: Mendes with a Mendes-like grinded out decision win.

“The Stun Gun” Dong-Hyun Kim (15-1-1-1 NC) vs. Demian Maia (15-4) – This marks Maia’s 170 lbs. debut, and he drew a tough one in Kim, who’s lost only once in his career. Maia’s a wizard on the ground, and the fight will probably end up there, either through Kim’s judo or Maia pulling guard. Kim’s a big welterweight, but Maia ha been fighting at 185 before this, so that might not be as much of a factor. Maia has not been able to submit anybody in his last 8 fights,  7 of which have gone the distance. This one should go that direction as well. Prediction: Kim via decision

Cung Le (9-2) vs. Patrick “The Predator) Côté (17-7):  Côté returns to the UFC after a year and a half of fighting in other leagues, due to being cut by UFC after 3 straight losses. Le – part time fighter and actor – will fight in the UFC for the second time after coming over from Strikeforce. Le has flashy kicks and good standup, but its effectiveness is very dependent on stamina. And at 40, that stamina is pretty much not what it was. Côté will have to fight a smart fight to avoid getting picked off by Cung’s kicks; I do think there’s still some life left in those legs of Cung and that’ll give him the win. Prediction: Cung Le by KO

Tito Ortiz (16-10-1) vs. Forrest Griffin (18-7): After splitting their first two fights, this battle will not only mark the end of the Ortiz-Griffin trilogy, but it will be Tito’s retirement fight as well. Ortiz, one of the most dominant champions in UFC history, is calling it quits after this fight. While he is well past his physical prime, he was one of the best ever at 205. And no one could sell a fight like Tito in those days. Unfortunately, his body is too broken down nowadays, and while Forrest’s is not that much better, it’ll be enough. Prediction: Forrest by decision

For The UFC Middleweight Championship: The Champion – Anderson “The Spider” Silva (31-4) vs. Chael Sonnen (27-11-1): Anderson Silva arrived in the UFC just a bit more than 6 years ago. He won the title in his 2nd fight there and has completely dominated the competition and has not even come close to losing, except on one occasion. And that one occasion was the first time him and Sonnen fought. Sonnen dominated Silva for the better part of 4  and a half rounds, before getting caught in a triangle and tapping out. Silva supposedly fought through a serious rib injury suffered in training, but it was a close call for the champ nonetheless. This fight has taken a very heated dimension as well, as Silva seems to have taken personally Sonnen’s pro-wrestling sytle taunts and interviews; these taunts started before the first fight and has continued in the buildup to the rematch. Sonnen’s mouth and Silva’s response will help sell this fight to the stratosphere and put millions in each man’s pockets. I don’t think it’ll be nowhere near as close as the first one though. Prediction: Silva by KO

Pregnant Snooki comes out with her own soda

How many times have we said to ourselves that we just don't have enough Snooki in our lives? Never? Me neither. But if people who think that way do exist, they're going to be very happy to learn that "Jersey Shore" star Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi has added to her empire. The eight-months pregnant reality star has debuted ... Snooki's Wild Cherry Soda. As the 24-year-old explained to "Extra" at the launch of the soft drink at the Rocket Fizz Soda Pop and Candy Shop in L.A. on Thursday, the venture is "another adventure in my branding process." The entrepreneur has already come out with Snooki slippers, perfume, bronzer, and tanning lotion. When — if? — fans go to their grocery stores looking for the drink, they won't have any trouble finding it. The soda will definitely stand out, thanks to its Snooki-inspired, zebra-print packaging.

The "Snooki and JWoww" star had another high-profile appearance Wednesday night, when she was a guest on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno." During her interview, Snooki chatted with another one of the show's guests, and an unlikely fan of hers, former House Speaker and presidential candidate Newt Gingrich. Check out this clip, where Gingrich is kind to the pint-sized star, but admits - gasp! - that he's never seen "Jersey Shore." Do you believe him?

3 Boyfriends Die Shielding Girlfriends During Aurora Massacre

In the wake of Friday's devastating theater shooting in Aurora, Colo., President Obama remarked that it will be the "good people" -- the heroes who took action -- that remain in our memories long after James Holmes, the alleged gunman, has been forgotten.

And as stories from the darkened chaos begin to emerge, three among many share similar heroic stories: they all died shielding their girlfriends from bullets.

Jon Blunk had served in the Navy and was planning to re-enlist. On Friday, the 26-year-old took his girlfriend, Jansen Young, to see the "Dark Knight" -- when the assault began, Young says he saved her life. "Jon just took a bullet for me," Young said in an interview on "Today". "He knew and threw me on the ground, and was like, 'We have to get down and stay down.'"

While Holmes walked up and down the aisles shooting, Young says her boyfriend was a constant presence, pushing her further under the seats and out of the line of fire. Finally, as the shots slowed, she crawled out and attempted to pull up Blunk by the shoulder, but he didn't move.

"I guess I didn't really know he had passed, up until I started shaking him and saying, 'Jon, Jon, we have to go... It's time for us to get out of here,' '' she told the Denver Post.

Reached for comment by the NY Daily News, Young's mother described Blunk as "loving, the kind of guy you want your daughter to be with."

Madonna & Guns: Singer Brandishes Fake Pistols & Machine Guns Despite Warnings, Recent Events

Maybe she really just doesn't read the news, but Madonna's managed to do it again: Despite being warned by police, the singer -- who named her album after a thinly veiled drug reference -- defied a ban and waved fake machine guns and pistols on stage at her show in Scotland on Saturday.

Her performance drew the ire of Mothers Against Guns, who said the 53-year-old singer "should know better."

"Madonna and her dancers using replica guns was always in bad taste but given what happened in Colorado it is even worse," a representative for the organization told the Saturday Morning Herald.

The singer's camp remained defiant. "Madonna would rather cancel her show than censor her art," a member of her tour staff told HuffPost's Rob Shuter. "Her entire career, she has fought against people telling her what she can and cannot do. She’s not about to start listening to them now."

HuffPost Entertainment has checked in with Madge's tour developments from time to time. Whether she was flashing her nipple, putting swastikas on politicians' faces or knocking Lady Gaga, many fans were able to dismiss her antics as typical attempts at staying relevant. It's unclear if the fallout from Saturday's gun-toting show will be met with a similar, "Oh, Madonna."

In the days since the early Friday shooting at a showing of "The Dark Knight Rises" that left 12 dead and a total of 71 people sprayed with bullets, President Obama has traveled to Aurora, Co. to meet with victims and their families. Mayor Michael Bloomberg of New York has relentlessly framed the massacre as indicative of the need for better gun laws. Flags around the nation were lowered to half-mast. But because nothing says "edgy" like writhing around on stage with plastic machine guns, Madonna's show must go on.

HEALTH BENEFITS OF GUAVA and MY FAVORITE STRAWBERRY GUAVA

I saw my Guava Soup recipe on my 'popular post' list, last week. I am surprised to saw my 2 yrs old post got your attention but it also hit me to one of my post drafts that been been queuing since...uhm well since.. 2010?! X_X. How time flies! LOL.
To make it worst, I said on that post that I will talk about the health benefits of Guava on the next post too! Big time. I should finish the post draft before the Guava recipe appears again on my popular post list and you read what I promised you there. Haha.
Well, I sure tried that for the last couple days and am glad I finally can post it today. So aye aye captain, lets go to the topic right meow. YAY.

Guava is one of my fav fruit and since I live in tropical country, it easy to find it.

From all types of Guavas, my fav are "Red" guava like shown in the picture above- bought them in the traditional market this morning and couldn't get the bigger size and as you read on my title, another type of Guava on my favorite list is definitely the strawberry Guava.

Its called Strawberry guava because this red-fruited variety has an excellent strawberry like flavor

I used to call them Jambu England- as the seller told me.I was kinda raised my eyebrows when I heard how they named them-makes these tropical fruits comes from a non tropical country so to my curiosity I decide to investigate more and found out that Strawberry guava was originate from Colombia and Brazil, I found out also that Psidium cattleilanum  a.k.a Strawberry Guava named in honor a notable English horticulturist Sir William Cattley. Still according to my source, the strawberry guava also commonly known as Cattley Guava or Peruvian Guava- I guess those names are a bit hard to be spelled for local so they just call them Jambu England or England Guava in English for practicality reason.

Anyway, if you are not familiar with strawberry guava. Here's how they look like.

I have the tree at my front yard besides the mango tree and also Durian tree- my brother Rio, just planted last week.

I bought the Strawberry guava tree about 3 years ago, it cost almost $40. Glad it grows on the new soil I also bought along with the tree coz me and my family like the taste very much, even the kids in my neighborhood likes them. Those kids like to pick the fruits even when they are not ripe yet and yea so its everybody's tree now. Its okay, hehehe.

As you can see the fruits are  small, to 1-2 inch around. The strawberry guava I have at home is the 'Longpipes' variety so the fruit turns red when ripe. The fruit will fall and disappear quickly into the soil if it is not picked.

Here's the strawberry guava my other brother Angga picked for me- fresh from the tree. Sorry for the poor quality pic. I took the pic when I type this with my webcam and forgot to clean the lens. D'oh.

Because the tree and the fruits looks pretty, some might prefer to use the tree just for their house ornament but we like the fruit so its not just an ornament at our house.

This dark red skinned guava tastes sweet, a bit sour and very juicy with very soft and sweet pulp - excellent strawberry like flavor . The seed are small and white in color.

You might ask why I like and fav Guava. Its because of its richness in nutrients. Guava has brilliant health benefits.

"A few guavas in the season keeps the doctor away for the whole year"

Guava is very rich of vitamins, protein and minerals with no cholesterol and less digestible carbohydrates is very filling and satisfies appetite very easily.

Because of its richness in nutrients, Guava also helps people who want to lose weight but ironically it helps gaining weight in lean or thin people. They keeps your metabolism right helping proper absorption of nutrients.

When I am doing my research for guava a.k.a browsing :D, it said that guava leaf extract helps control diabetes. From another source, it said that Guava was used for century to treat diabetes in China.

I am not diabetic but I have diabetes gen in the family so I always interesting with how to treat and most importantly how to prevent diabetes  and that sounds like a good news for me so again to my curiosity I investigate it more and found out that recent study conducted in rats shown eating guava with its skin increase blood sugar  91% so if you have high blood sugar make sure you peel off its skin and eat before it too ripe. (research published in the Indian Journal of Medical Research and conducted by researchers at the Medicinal Research Laboratory of the University of Allahabad blood sugar levels in rats injected with guava peel extract rose by 91% in sub-diabetic rats within two hours of administration and by 27% in normal rats after eight hours of administration)

ISLAMIC FASHION [part 1]- Hijab Trend in Indonesia.

Hello visitor. We are in April already, how time flies!

Its been a long time I did not update my fashion feed. and yep, as you read in the title, Hijab has catched my attention. Today I want to share about Hijab Trend in Indonesian [ part 1] and also How To Wear Hijab Indonesian Style Tutorial [Part 2].

Many muslim woman in Indonesia choose to wear hijab or jilbab in local term and so with some of my friends and family.

I myself don't wear hijab but I amazed with how hijabbers- common local term for hijabi, make the symbolic headpiece become a way to express not only their beliefs but also their styling ability. The creativity of hijabbers in Indonesia has also inspired and influence the way other muslim woman in other countries wear their hijab and the world of Islamic fashion in general.

The limited option in term of wardrobe when wearing hijab seemed could not stop many young woman in Indonesia experimenting with fashion option and ways of wearing their hijab with attitude.

Combining various colors, pattern and texture into the typical hijab attire is how to wear a hijab Indonesian style makes the hijab colorful, form- fitting and incorporates different fabrics simultaneously.

Natural fiber is more preferable. Breathable, soft and cool materials as you see in these pictures above and below, are definitely intended to suit Indonesian climate.

Some list of materials often used for these hijabs in the market I often found are Cotton, Paris Cotton, Rayon Cotton- I like it myself very comfortable to wear and I like its hand's feel, Cotton Jeans, Denim, Combed cotton, All type of Spandex; spandex rayon, spandex cotton also lycra, Chiffon, Sateen, Jersey, Slumb Jersey, etc etc

Angela Simmons has taken the "itsy-bitsy bikini" battle to a whole new level.

Rev. Run's daughter showed off her toned body on the sands of a Miami beach, wearing a gold bikini, body chain and a tangerine head wrap. The 24-year-old former reality show stunner staved off the national heat wave with a dip in the ocean before catching some rays on a reclining beach chair.

"Fresh off a workout! You can't reach a goal without trying! :) xo," Simmons tweeted Sunday.

From these photos, it certainly looks like Simmons' body mission has been accomplished.

Audrina Patridge Strips Down To Just Panties To Wash Even

Before I reverse my assessment that hot bikini pictures are all that's left of Audrina Patridge's career, I must mention that these Ralph magazine sexy panties pictures are previously unpublished photos from before The Hills was canceled. Therefore, I stand by my assessment that Ms. Patridge is a talentless hack whose career has now come to a merciful end. Yet, I'm man enough to admit that my eyes are blowing out of their sockets, staring at Audrina Patridge's amazing body of work, just happily washing her panties, in her panties, in a perfect combination of feminine allure. Enjoy.

Forget 'The Bachelorette'! Love is where you least expect it on reality TV

Another season of “The Bachelorette” is over, and once again, true love -- or a reasonable facsimile -- prevailed. Yes, after weeks of cycling through suitors, (spoiler alert!) Emily Maynard gave her final rose to Jef Holm and he gave her a proposal (and a great big diamond too). And of course, she said yes.

Now they’ll live happily ever.... OK, who are we kidding? If Emily and Jef go the way the vast majority of couples from the “Bachelor” and “Bachelorette” reality TV franchise have, they’re far more likely to say “I don’t” than “I do” to each other.

In fact, with 24 seasons and 24 potential pairings between the two shows, only two season-ending couples ever swapped vows.

Trista Rehn and Ryan Sutter, from the first season of “The Bachelorette,” were married on an ABC special (aptly titled “Trista and Ryan’s Wedding”) in 2003. Today they’re still together and have two children.

And while Jason Mesnick gave his final rose to Melissa Rycroft on “The Bachelor’s” 13th season finale, he married his last-minute switcheroo pick, Molly Malaney. They too were married on an ABC special (aptly titled “Jason and Molly’s Wedding”) in 2010.

Two other couples can kind-of-sort-of chalk up their marriages to the shows, but they didn’t actually share any on-screen time together. Jesse Csincsak, of “The Bachelorette’s” fourth season and Ann Leuders of season 13 of “The Bachelor” walked down the aisle after meeting as show alums. It was much the same story “Bachelor 10’s” Petyon Wright and her now-husband “Bachelorette 6’s” Chris Lambton.

    But that’s it!

Now don’t let those results lead you to lose faith in finding real love on the boob tube. Just because the shows that aim for a happily-ever-after often fail to find it, that doesn’t mean reality TV is lacking in love. You just have to know where to look.

    “Survivor”

Somewhere in between their attempts to outwit, outplay and outlast their tribemates, a few “Survivor” castaways managed to out-romance the competition and walk away from the game with the ultimate reality TV alliance -- marriage.

The first and probably best known “Survivor” union is the one between “Boston Rob” Mariano and Amber Brkich, two past players who found love during the “All-Stars” season, got engaged on finale night and made it official months later. They’re now the proud parents of three children.

Jaime Dugan and Erik Huffman met during “Survivor: China” and tied the knot less than two years later. Alex Bell and Kim Powers, of the “Amazon” and “Africa” editions of the show respectively, also found love on “Survivor.”

At least 11 killed in single truck crash in Texas

GOLIAD, Texas - Authorities say a pickup truck has crashed in South Texas, killing 11 people in the vehicle and injuring 12. All 23 passengers were in the same Ford F-250 truck, according to officials.

Louann Presas, a spokeswoman for the Texas Department of Public Safety, says the crash occurred about 7 p.m. CDT Sunday near Berclair when the truck ran off the highway and crashed into some trees. The unincorporated community is about 100 miles southeast of San Antonio.

"The truck left the roadway and struck two very large trees," Texas Department of Public Safety spokesman Gerald Bryant told The San Antonio Express-News.

According to Bryant, a total of 23 people of "a variety of ages," including some children, were in the vehicle. The victims have not yet been identified, he said.

The alleged driver of the truck was ejected but is alive, Bryant said. Six others from inside the cab of the truck were pronounced dead at the scene. Another five victims outside of the pickup also died at the scene, he said.

She says the extent of the injuries to the surviving victims wasn't immediately clear. Crash investigators were still at the scene around 11 p.m. CDT.

A Goliad County sheriff's dispatcher deferred comment to a department spokesperson, who did not immediately return a message left by The Associated Press.

Anne Hathaway On Aurora 'Dark Knight Rises' Shooting: 'Unfathomably Senseless Act'

As the world learns the faces and names of the victims of the Aurora, CO shooting during a midnight screening of "The Dark Knight Rises," another one of the films stars, Anne Hathaway, has expressed her feelings about the tragedy.

"My heart aches and breaks for the lives taken and altered by this unfathomably senseless act," Hathaway, who plays Catwoman in "The Dark Knight Rises," said in a brief statement. "I am at a loss for words how to express my sorrow. My thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families."

Earlier, Batman himself, Christian Bale, broke his silence about the Aurora shooting, releasing the following statement: “Words cannot express the horror that I feel. I cannot begin to truly understand the pain and grief of the victims and their loved ones, but my heart goes out to them.”

The Aurora gunman James Holmes reportedly claimed to be portraying The Joker, played by the late Heath Ledger in "The Dark Knight," leading Ledger's father to speak out on tragedy as well. "We can't blame Heath or the character,'' he said. "I think that's the least of my worries ... I'd be more worried about the families and other people involved in the tragedy rather than anything else.''

"The Dark Knight Rises" director Christopher Nolan was the first to speak out about the shooting. "I would like to express our profound sorrow at the senseless tragedy that has befallen the entire Aurora commun
ity," Nolan said. "The movie theatre is my home, and the idea that someone would violate that innocent and hopeful place in such an unbearably savage way is devastating to me. Nothing any of us can say could ever adequately express our feelings for the innocent victims of this appalling crime, but our thoughts are with them and their families."

First Video of Colorado Shooting Suspect James Holmes Emerges

Federal authorities and local police today are scouring James Holmes' apartment for evidence as a newly released video gives some insight into the man who allegedly killed 12 people and injured 58 people at a packed screening of the latest Batman movie, "The Dark Knight Rises."

Overnight, ABC News obtained exclusive video and photos of Holmes. The video was recorded six years ago when Holmes was 18.

In the video, he is standing among his peers at a science camp at Miramar College in San Diego talking about "temporal illusions."

"Over the course of the summer I've been working with a temporal illusion. It's an illusion that allows you to change the past," Holmes said in the video.

He appears slightly nervous speaking to the group but also extremely intelligent.

By most accounts, Holmes lived the life of a normal teen – with a particular interest in science.

This was how he was introduced at the seminar: "His goals are to become a researcher and to make scientific discoveries. In personal life, he enjoys playing soccer and strategy games and his dream is to own a slurpee machine."

Though Holmes was apparently a gifted scientist who had received a federal grant to work on his Ph.D. at one of the most competitive neuroscience programs in the country, he was a loner who -- oddly for a young scientist -- seemed to have no Internet presence.

Officials Saturday said they now have "evidence of calculation and deliberation," in the way he allegedly planned and prepared for the shooting, beginning to buy weapons and ammunition two months ago.

Holmes is originally from San Diego, where he once reportedly worked as a camp counselor for underprivileged children. He was an honors student at Westview High School, but did not walk in his graduation ceremony.

Holmes, 24, is currently in custody for Friday's massacre in Aurora, Colo.

Dressed in full riot gear, Holmes allegedly entered from an emergency exit in the front right corner of the theater before releasing something that witnesses identify as tear gas or a smoke bomb. From there, he allegedly sprayed the sold-out theater with a storm of bullets, injuring and killing both adults and children.

Among the dead include: Micayla Medek, 23; Alex Sullivan, 27, who was attending the movie for his birthday; Ohio native Matt McQuinn; Alex Teves, 24; Alexander J. Boik, 18; Rebecca Ann Wingo, 32; and Gordon W. Cowden, 51.

Two other people died at the hospital, including 24-year-old aspiring sportscaster Jessica Ghawi. Police said 30 people remained hospitalized with 11 of them in critical condition. Bullets from the shooting spree tore through the theater and into adjoining theaters, where at least one other person was struck and injured.

John Larimer, a member of the Navy, was also confirmed by his family to be among the dead. The family said they were notified at their Illinois home around midnight today by a Navy notification team that Larimer was dead.

Staff Sgt. Jesse Childress was an Air Force reservist assigned to units at Buckley Air Force Base in Colorado was killed in the shooting. He was 29. Air Force Lt. Col. Pat Walsh said that Childress was respected in the 310th Force Support Squadron.

Military veteran Jonathan T. Blunk of Aurora, Colo., was killed as he threw himself over a friend to keep her from getting shot. The 26-year-old worked at a hardware store.

It's A Family Day Out For Jessica Alba And Hilary Duff

Jessica Alba and Hilary Duff - two of our favourite Hollywood mums - were spotted out and about with their kids in LA yesterday.

First up, we have Jessica who hit a local restaurant in Bevery Hills with her husband Cash Warren and two daughters Honor and Haven. We love her printed vest and boyfriend jeans. And that pink cross-body bag is beautiful. It's those cute little girls, however, who steal the show.

Meanwhile, Hilary was snapped carrying her son Luca Cruz Comrie in long black skirt, knitted top and bandage wedges. We love her sunnies too - aviators are always a classic.

And, just in case you wanted to see more Jessica, we have a gallery for you.

How one Kenyan village dominates the Olympics

Even before the sun has risen, hundreds of Kenyan runners pound the roads around Iten -- perhaps not yet fully awake, and still dreaming of future glories. The men and women hardly seem to notice the thin, crisp air -- the town is 2,400 metres above sea level -- as they seemingly glide up and down the steep hills. Most, but not all of the runners here are from the same ethnic group, the Kalenjin.SOUNDBITE 1 Renato Canova (man), Athletics coach (English, 21 sec):"They can be like similar to Formula One, where the engine is very very strong, and the weight of the body is very very light. This is the main attitude for long distances."Iten, with a population of just a few thousand, has produced a staggering number of world and Olympic champions and they’re expecting a healthy crop of new medals from the London Games. The village's high altitude pushes the body to produce more oxygen-rich red blood cells so that when they run at sea level, they can go faster, for longer.Last year, the 20 fastest official marathon times were all clocked by Kenyans, the majority of whom train in Iten. SOUNDBITE 2 Elias Kiptum Maindi (man), Linz Marathon winner, 2008 and 2009 (English,
14 sec):"We ran to school from a very long distance so everybody is actually a runner, and the people around here are very encouraging, the community keeps encouraging everyone to run, to make a living."Runners from all over the world are drawn to the magic of the place, and come here to benefit from the high altitude and try to uncover/learn the secrets. Johana grew up in Kenya's lowlands -- on the edge of the Maasai Mara. From a family of animal herders, he learnt to run by chasing away lions and elephants. He now has bigger dreams and funds his sporting ambition by selling souvenirs to tourists.SOUNDBITE 3 Johana Kariankei (man), Runner and owner of Olympic corner (English, 13 sec):"I was thinking that I cannot achieve being in the Olympics because these guys are very far from me, but now when I see them, when I train with them I know I'm very close now."The sign at the entrance of town leaves no doubt as to what lies within. No one really knows why so many Olympians come from here, but the conveyor belt of talent shows no sign of stopping.SHOTLIST:ITEN, KENYA, JULY 9 AND 10, 2012. Ryan Jimmo ties UFC fastest knockout record in debut at UFC 149

After a decorated career with the Canadian promotion MFC, Ryan Jimmo made a memorable UFC debut. He knocked out Anthony Perosh in seven seconds at UFC 149 in Calgary on Saturday.

Light heavyweight Jimmo took two steps in at Perosh before unloading a massive right hand that knocked Perosh right against the fence. He followed up with a strike on the ground, but it wasn't needed. Referee Josh Rosenthal stopped the fight, and Jimmo's win streak was extended to 17.

"I'm very happy, Joe. I'm very happy," Jimmo said to commentator Joe Rogan. "He's a big strong guy, so I went at him."

UFC president Dana White was pleased with Jimmo's debut.

"WOW!!! Ryan Jimmo just tied the fastest KO in UFC history!" White tweeted.

Jimmo is now 17-1 and 1-0 in the UFC. Before fighting with the UFC, Jimmo showed why a fighter shouldn't give up after one loss. He was knocked out in his first fight, but has won 17 bouts since then. Though he was impressive in Canada, Jimmo was only known in the U.S. to the most fervent of fight fans, but now he will be known for a seven-second debut.

Perosh was on a three-fight win streak before ending up on the wrong end of an MMA record. He is now 13-7, and 3-2 in his most recent streak in the UFC.

The Who 1979 Tickets: Providence Ticketholders Get Reprieve 33 Years Later

Fans still holding tickets for a canceled 1979 show in Rhode Island by British rock band The Who can finally use them.

The Who's 1979 concert in Providence was canceled by then-Mayor Buddy Cianci, who cited safety concerns after a stampede before a show in Cincinnati, Ohio, killed 11 people. The band hasn't been to Providence since.

The Who this week announced it will end its latest tour in Providence on Feb. 26 at the same venue where its show was canceled 33 years ago, now called the Dunkin Donuts Center.

General Manager Lawrence Lepore said on Thursday the venue will honor tickets from the canceled 1979 show. Lepore said many ticketholders got refunds for the canceled show in 1979, but others may have held on to their tickets as memorabilia.

"Somewhere, someplace, someone's got it stashed," he said. "The question is, are they willing to give that up? If they are, we're willing to take it."

He first made the offer on WPRO-AM, which then asked listeners to call if they still had a 1979 ticket. No one did.

The highest price ticket at the 1979 show was $14, Lepore said. Tickets for February's show range from $57.50 to $127.50.

Lepore said 1979 ticketholders can call his office to make the exchange. Any 1979 tickets redeemed will be donated to help raise money for the Special Olympics of Rhode Island.

6-year-old girl confirmed to have been killed in Colorado theater shootings

As victims and relatives began to return Saturday to the theater where a gunman killed 12 people in Aurora, Colo., a 6-year-old girl was confirmed to have been among the victims.
    M. Alex Johnson is a reporter for NBC News. Follow him on Twitter and Facebook.

Veronica Moser, 6, died in the shooting rampage Friday morning, her great-aunt, Annie Dalton, told NBC News.

Fifty-eight other people were injured in the shootings. Twenty-eight remained in area hospitals Saturday afternoon, seven of them in critical condition. James Eagan Holmes, 24, a graduate student at the University of Colorado-Denver, was arrested outside the theater, clad in black body armor and armed with three weapons.

Veronica's mother, Ashley Moser, 25, was shot in the throat and the abdomen. She remains paralyzed in critical condition and hasn't been told of her daughter's death, Dalton said.

"This is just a nightmare right now," Dalton said. "It's a nightmare.

    "Eveything's surreal. It's just surreal."

People who attended the midnight screening of "Batman: The Dark Knight Rises" were allowed to return to the theater Saturday to retrieve their automobiles, which were left behind during the evacuation and subsequent investigation. Some of them left flowers and flags as tributes.

Victims of Colo. shooting include sailor, aspiring sportscaster

Military authorities identified two victims Saturday, confirming that Petty Officer Third Class John Larimer, 27, Air Force reservist Jesse Childress, 29, assigned to the 310th Force Support Squadron at Buckley Air Force Base in Aurora, died from their injuries sustained in the shootings.

The Arapahoe County Coroner's Office confirmed the identities of 11 fatalaties and tentatively confirmed the 12th who died in the shooting rampage and its aftermath.

In Colorado and across the country, friends and family members of missing moviegoers anxiously awaited word on their loved ones, hoping for good news but fearing the worst.

The final bodies were removed from the theater a little after 5 p.m. Friday (7 p.m. ET), Aurora police chief Dan Oates said. He said police met with about 70 family members and friends to give an accounting of bodies that had been identified.

Police said families of the dead were being notified Friday night.

Survivors said gunman was calm and purposeful as he opened fire from the front of the theater about 12:39 a.m. (2:39 a.m. ET).

"He shot once, and it just lit up the theater," said Pierce O'Farrill, who was attending the film with a friend. O'Farrill was wounded in the shoulder and the leg, and friend was also shot. Both are expected to survive.

After barely escaping a mall shooting last month, aspiring sports reporter Jessica Ghawi did not survive the theater shooting. Her brother spoke to reporters about her remarkable spirit. NBC's Kristen Dahlgren reports.

"He cocked and shot again," O'Farrill said. "At that moment, I grabbed my buddy, and we just hit the deck you know. I said, 'Get down! We have to get down!' And so I just buried my head down just in the aisle and just started to pray."

'Just too close to home': Aurora residents mourn shooting victims

Twelve candles, a birthday card and flowers placed in popcorn boxes.

Mourners created a makeshift memorial Saturday across the street from a movie theater where 12 people were killed and dozens injured in an attack, with some shedding tears and sharing embraces as they grappled to understand the deadly assault on their community.

A birthday card with a photo of victim Alex Sullivan stood amid the stuffed animals and balloons. “Gone not forgotten,” read one poster. A group held hands in a circle and said a prayer, and a girl placed 12 red heart-shaped balloons at the empty lot.

“Our heart goes out to everybody. We grew up in the community here and it’s in our backyard. It’s just too close to home,” Shawn Quintana, 40, whose sister lit 12 white candles for the victims, told NBC News.

The memorial appeared a day after James Holmes allegedly attacked the theater after Friday midnight with four weapons and tear gas, killing 12 people and leaving 58 injured.

The people of Aurora are seeking comfort during a time of tremendous pain. NBC's Kristen Dahlgren reports.

Some motorists honked their horns at the well-wishers as they passed by along the large roadway across from the theater.

Terry Jackson, 50, his wife, Donna, 58, and their 20-year-old son brought a bouquet of yellow and white flowers to pay their respects. Terry said he felt “very angry” about what had happened.

“I’d like to say that I felt peace in my life but I don’t,” he said, elaborating that he was “just angry that somebody could come in and be this evil and cause this much devastation.”

The Most Important People on The Internet: Volume 2.30

Welcome to this week’s installment of The Most Important People on The Internet coming at you later than usual to give The Dark Knight Rises review room to.. spread its wings? (Innocent people were senselessly murdered in a movie theater, yet I’m alive to make that pun. That’s how you know there isn’t a God.) So keeping that ball of horrible going, here are the comments from throughout the week that broke through my jaded heart and brought brief joy where there was only dick jokes and hate. Also, a special shout out to mismy on the TDKR thread for literally suggesting the government caused the Colorado shooting because it can control our minds via fluoride in the water and now Obama’s all set to sign a treaty with the U.N. in six days and take our guns. That’s the funniest shit I’ve read all week, and I’m not just saying that because the nano-bugs in my Starbucks told me to. (Those mostly just make me shop at Target instead of Walmart and act all prissy about it.)

Kaitlyn Leeb's Three Breasts Give Her The Weirdest Cleavage We've Ever Seen

In our awe over the wild costumes at Comic Con 2012, we skipped over perhaps the wildest one of all: Kaitlyn Leeb's sexy red costume and her daring cleav -- wait a second. Does she have... three breasts?

Indeed, Leeb showed up to Comic Con sporting triple cleavage, thanks to prosthetics. Leeb, a Toronto-based model and actress, stars as a "seductive woman" in the upcoming "Total Recall" remake starring Colin Farrell, Kate Beckinsale and Jessica Biel.

Schwarzenegger fans will recall that the original movie features a prostitute with three breasts, who famously causes one suitor to remark, "Baby, you make me wish I had three hands!" Hot? And you guessed it -- Leeb will be playing the woman in the film's remake, and she decided to show up in full costume.

Fans of the look shouldn't get too excited, though: the whole shebang is fake.

"There were a bunch of people at Comic Con asking if I had surgery for the third one,” Leeb told the Calgary Herald. “Others thought that the two on the side were real. I guess that’s the one thing that bothers me the most is that they think I’m out there prancing around Comic Con with my breasts out. They really are not mine."

Leeb, who's of Chinese and Irish descent, has modeled in print for Dentyne Ice and Virgin Mobile; she also won the Miss CHIN Bikini pageant in Toronto in 2009.

And now, the moment you've been waiting for... check out her three-breasted costume below.

Olympian and fighter Ronda Rousey calls out Michael Phelps’ behavior in Beijing

Before becoming an MMA fighter and the Strikeforce bantamweight champion, Ronda Rousey made her name by winning a bronze medal in judo at the Beijing Olympics. In a recent interview with Elie Seckbach, she talked about how great it was for all Olympians, no matter the stature, to get together and have fun.

Well, almost all Olympians. There was one Olympian who didn't want to mingle: Michael Phelps.

Rousey said while at a party for all American Olympians, the athletes happily mingled together. NBA players hung with the rest of the group, but Phelps had his own area that was just for his group.

"These NBA players are a bigger deal than this guy, and they're hanging out with us. We're teammates. We're not a bunch of groupies. Come hang out with us," Rousey said.

She said it was a similar set-up when Team USA visited "The Oprah Winfrey Show," which rubbed her the wrong way.

"I don't like being somebody's teammate and being treated like I'm a groupie.
swimmer before I did this stuff, and you can't tell me that swimming is OH MY GOD, because it's not."

Rousey isn't the first athlete to criticize Phelps, who can break Larissa Latynina's all-time medal record with three medals in London. Fellow swimmer Tyler Clary questioned Phelps' work ethic after the Olympic Trials.

Rwanda's B-Boys: From the streets to break beats

Sporting a black t-shirt proudly proclaiming "Live 2 Break," a group of grinning boys form a slightly jagged circle inside a dusty yard on the outskirts of Kigali, Rwanda's capital.

Inside the circle a bandana-wearing dance instructor spins from his back onto his chest flaring his legs high in the air in a V-shape. The boys respond to his virtuoso dance moves with claps and cheers before taking to the floor themselves, twisting and turning as they try to perfect their breakdance moves.

They are part of an uplifting dance project at Les Enfants De Dieu, a residential care center working to transform the lives of former street children in Rwanda.

The center accommodates 126 boys aged six to 18 who, apart from their tough upbringing, share a deep passion for an art form that also originated in the streets: Hip-hop.

"Once their basic needs are fulfilled, they need to nourish their spirit, their self-esteem and their pride in themselves," says Nicola Triscott, co-founder of Catalyst Rwanda, a UK-based group that organizes art programs for vulnerable youth.

"I think hip-hop really helps to do that, because it's such a young person's art form -- it came off the streets and it's about one-on-one teaching. There's this great spirit of sharing in hip hop," she adds.

Authorities plan to enter apartment of suspect in Colorado movie theater massacre

Authorities plan to enter the booby- trapped apartment of the suspect in the deadly shooting spree at an Aurora, Colo., movie theater Saturday.

The suspect, James Holmes is accused of going on a shooting rampage at the movie theater during Friday’s midnight showing of “The Dark Knight Rises.” He was packing as many as 6,000 rounds of ammunition with the ability to shoot up to 50 a minute, police said.

Holmes’ apartment is believed to be loaded with explosives. Attempts to enter the apartment Friday were unsuccessful and police postponed efforts until Saturday.  The FBI, ATF and local authorities are working together to enter the apartment.

Sgt. Cassidy Carlson of the Aurora Police Dept. said that authorities have broken the mission down into three phases and plan to carry them out throughout Saturday.

"There are still unknowns, we're not exactly sure of everything that's in there," Sgt. Carlson said. The unknown includes jars that are believed to contain accelerates.

The first phase will be to render the area safe and address the immediate threat of the wire trip booby trap, which may include a controlled detonation. The public has been warned that parts of these phases may cause loud booms and have planned for reverse 911 calls for the area so that the public may remain informed.

Authorities say they will send a robot into the apartment.

The second phase will be to dispose of the aerial shells which will include placing the devices into sand trucks and taken to a disposal site for a controlled detonation. Authorities believe there may be up to as many as 30 shells.

The third phase will be the investigation of the apartment itself.

"There is no timeline, I can't give you an end time," Sgt. Carlson said. "We don't need to rush anything," she said.

After day of agony, families in Colorado get tragic confirmation

Amidst the terror and fear inside the movie theater as a gunman sprayed bullets, there were also moments of heroism, as emerging stories show.

Matt McQuinn was one of the 12 killed in the mass shooting in Aurora, Colorado.

McQuinn was attempting to provide cover for his girlfriend when he was hit, said a family attorney, Robert L. Scott.

He saved Samantha Yowler's life, though she was hit by a bullet, Scott said. She is recovering at the hospital.

More stories are expected to surface Saturday morning when police publicly release a list of the victims.

With song and prayer, shooting victims remembered

Grief counselors were available Saturday to help the bereaved in the Colorado shooting, hours after authorities started the dreadful task of notifying relatives of the victims of the movie theater massacre.

"It took about 19 hours to hear from law enforcement, which was agonizing and I thought just outright cruel to all the victims' families," said Anita Busch, who said her cousin, Micayla Medek, was among those killed. "We had been desperately trying to find her."

Families of the deceased had not been notified until Friday night because an active investigation was under way at the crime scene in Aurora, police said.

Alex Sullivan's relatives were also among those who got the dreaded news.

"The Sullivan family lost a cherished member of their family," a representative for the family said in a statement. "Alex was smart, funny, and above all loved dearly by his friends and family. Today was his 27th birthday."

The Voice mentor says that he had zero qualms about stripping down for the sexy photoshoot:

Adam Levine drops all of his clothes in the new issue of Cosmo UK, a publicity shot meant to raise awareness for prostate and testicular cancer for Everyman.

This time, it was his girlfriend Anne Vyalitsyna getting her hold on him, with her hands the only things covering Levine's privates from the camera.

Levine is no stranger to nudity, telling the magazine: "I spend most of my life naked. In fact, I often have to be told by the people around me that it's inappropriate to be as naked as I am. But I live in California, where it's always warm, so why not?"

Tom and Suri were last spotted in public together on June 16, when they dined at Sushi Samba in Reykjavik, Iceland, along with Katie. It was no doubt an emotional reunion for father and daughter, who have been keeping in touch via phone and video chat in recent weeks. It would have been even more poignant given last night's scare which saw Katie and Suri involved in a car accident, capping off a tumultuous time for the little girl. The former Dawson's Creek actress and her six-year-old child were riding in the back of a black Mercedes sedan when it was struck by a garbage truck in New York yesterday evening. No one was reported hurt in the incident, which onlookers say was minor. One source said: “It was nothing major other than the fact that it was Katie Holmes." Police arrived on the scene and noted the actress' chauffeur-driven vehicle had sustained a large dent and several scratches to the rear driver side panel after the Volvo truck - from Classic Sanitation Recycling New York Corp - had apparently backed into the luxury vehicle. Katie - who filed for divorce from her daughter's father, actor Tom Cruise, last month - and Suri were not seen at the scene of the crash. Following her split from Tom, Katie has secured primary custody of their little girl in an undisclosed divorce agreement.

Michelle Jenneke: Australian hurdler, dancing sensation

The 100-meter hurdles and the Internet just got a little sexier thanks to a racy pre-race warmup routine by Australia's Michelle Jenneke.

If her goal was to get the blood pumping, it apparently worked (and for Jenneke, too), as the 19-year-old dominated the IAAF World Junior Championship in Barcelona last weekend. Along the way, she became a viral video sensation (videos such as the one you no doubt just played -- be honest -- are getting clicked as fast as, well, as fast as Michelle Jenneke runs the 100-meter hurdles).

According to Bleacher Report, sports blog With Leather posted raw, live-stream footage of Jenneke's prerace routine, then went back and edited it with an "overt celebration of Jenneke and her dancing and running presented in gratuitous slow motion, and with an awful song over it."

But then, that's just their opinion.

What seems clear is that this is one athlete who embraces the joy of running, and given some of the high-strung language accompanying track athletes these days, a little fun is a welcome thing.
In the 2010 Youth Games in Singapore, Jenneke took silver in the 100-meter hurdles. But after her gold in Barcelona, her star is on the rise.  She won't be competing in the London Games -- much to the chagrin of many Internet users -- but she might just be loosening up for a samba in Rio in 2016.

Speed Up Weight Loss by Eating Slow

Very often you will see me write stories on our Health Channel that are technical in nature and often built around some study recently performed at a major research institution. Today, I would like to start something a little different. What I would like to do puts me in a very vulnerable position. I hope for some of you that this will be helpful and that I build my credibility with you not only as an author, but as a real person going through some of the same challenges that many of you face. You see, I struggle with being overweight and have for a while now. It has been a steady increase and is a result of many factors, but mostly inactivity and over eating are to blame. Why do I say all of this? I say this because I am in the trenches just like many of you and I want you to know you’re not alone. I also want to be able to share, from time to time, some of the things that have worked for me and some that haven’t. I’d like to call this segment “Just One More Bite” because that seems to be a very big problem for me. Maybe I could call it “I’ll Have Another”, hmmm…, but I digress. Before I go any further, I must add a disclaimer. I am not a doctor, so please consult your doctor before you take any advice that I, or any health publication for that matter, might give. There’s a lot of pseudoscience out there, so please be careful!

I came across some good advice lately, that has really been a big help for me. When it comes to eating, slow and steady wins the race!
    Put the Fork Down

I am sure some of you probably heard things like “chew your food 32 times”, or “don’t inhale your food” from your Mom at the dinner table. It turns out, there is quite a bit of wisdom in those words. Paul McKenna, author of I Can Make You Thin, introduced a concept to me in his book. Basically, he says to “eat consciously and enjoy every mouthful”. This is one of his 4 golden rules that he lays out in his book. The gist of this statement is that you put the fork down between every bite.

Anti-Nicotine Vaccine Could Prevent Cigarette Smoking Addiction

Cigarette smoking is one of the major addictions prevalent in modern society and a vaccine may be on the way to cure it. Unlike other addiction treatment options which attempt a gradual replacement of nicotine with a similar chemical, this treatment removes the pleasure that cigarette smoking provides, by preventing nicotine from reaching the brain. Why Smoking is Addictive The nicotine in cigarettes crosses the blood-brain barrier and facilitates the production of the hormone dopamine. Dopamine is the ‘happy hormone’ of the body, also released when we’re in love. With regular smoking, the body gets used to a certain level of dopamine being present, and experiences withdrawal when the frequency of smoking drops. Cigarette Smoking Cigarette smoking is a common addiction, and accounts for 1 in every 5 deaths in the United States (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention). Inserting Nicotine Binders in the Body
Anti-nicotine vaccines have been on the market for a few years now. These contain antibodies which bind to nicotine in the blood and prevent it from reaching the brain. Smokers who have been administered this vaccine would not experience the pleasure associated with smoking, and could wean themselves off the habit more easily. However, the vaccines used so far have to be administered so frequently that the costs are prohibitive. Researchers at Cornell have now discovered a new method of planting these anti-nicotine antibodies in a patient’s blood. They have used a non-infectious virus which contains the gene for this antibody. Once the virus enters the body, it enters liver cells. The genetic sequence of the virus inserts itself into the liver’s genetic sequence, and the liver turns into a factory that manufactures the anti-nicotine antibody. This means that body is engineered to produce its own antibodies. While infectious viruses use this very mechanism to invade the host body, this is now being used to produce the chemicals that we want inside the host cells. ‘Immunity’ For a Lifetime This vaccine has been tested on mice, and it has been found that a single dose of the vaccine is enough to prevent nicotine entering the brain for an entire lifetime. Safety trials on humans are now needed before it can enter the market. Besides curing addiction, this vaccine has great potential in preventing addiction to cigarette smoking by being administered to non-smokers. Read more
