  • Postman: Ayers family put 'foreigner' Obama through school

Did Ayers’ mother believe Obama was a foreign student?

And was the young Obama convinced at the time – long before he even entered politics – that he was going to become president of the United States?

A retired U.S. Postal Service carrier who delivered mail to Tom and Mary Ayers in a Chicago suburb in the late 1980s and early 1990s and claims to have met Obama in front of the Ayers home emphatically says yes to all three questions.

Allen Hulton, who was commended for 39 years of honorable service with the USPS, has given a sworn affidavit to investigators commissioned by Maricopa County, Ariz., Sheriff Joe Arpaio to determine whether Obama is eligible for Arizona’s 2012 election ballot. Hulton has recorded about three hours of video interviews with WND.

Hulton says that in conversations with Mary Ayers while on his route he learned of the couple’s enthusiasm and support for a black foreign student. One bright, warm Chicagoland day, he recounts, he met the student who fit Mary Ayers’ description in front of the Ayers home in Glen Ellyn, Ill. That young man, Hulton is convinced, was Barack Obama.

Hulton delivered mail to the Ayers, who are both deceased, when he was stationed at the post office in Glen Ellyn, an upper-middle class suburb 25 miles west of downtown Chicago, from late 1986 to 1997. He was a USPS employee from March 28, 1962, through March 30, 2001. (Editor’s note: Although the Ayers family no longer lives there, WND is withholding the Glen Ellyn street address for the sake of the current residents’ privacy.)

“It was a beautiful neighborhood – one of the nicer routes any of the letter carriers would have liked to have had,” Hulton recalls. “It had some large and very beautiful homes.”

As WND reported yesterday, Obama’s relationship with Bill Ayers – whom he dismissed in a 2008 debate as “just a guy who lives in my neighborhood” – plagued him in the 2008 presidential campaign and could resurface in this year’s election, as many questions remain.

Over a period of years in the late 1980s and early 1990s, Hulton estimates he spoke with Mary Ayers about 18 to 20 times and once to Tom Ayers, who died in 2007. Mary Ayers died in 2000.

“Sometimes Mary would be out when I delivered the mail, and we would exchange a few words on occasion,” he says, recalling that she liked to talk about her family.

“One day, Mary came to the door when I came up to the house with the mail,” he remembers. “After a greeting, she started enthusiastically talking to me about this young black student they were helping out, and she referred to him as a foreign student.”

Canada Lesbian Couple's Engagement During Toronto Maple Leafs-Ottawa Senators Hockey Game

In what is likely the most heartwarming video you'll see all day, a Canada-based lesbian couple took to the ice of a hockey game during intermission for a crowd-thrilling marriage proposal.

As Yahoo Sports is reporting, a Toronto Maple Leafs fan named Alicia was escorted onto the ice wearing a blindfold. When the blindfold was removed, she looked up at the video scoreboard and read a message from her girlfriend, an Ottawa Senators fan named Christina.

The pair embraced before Christina got down on one knee and slid the engagement ring onto Alicia's hand. After the couple shared a kiss, the Senators mascot raised a sign that declared: "SHE SAID YES."

Two-Year-Old Sings Adele's 'Someone Like You'

Two-year-old Makena is the newest pint-sized, pop-song-covering Internet super star thanks to her heart-filled rendition of Adele's "Someone Like You."

Making the Internet rounds over the weekend, the video sees the adorable Makena singing along with the hit song, occasionally missing a word here and there, but bringing it home during the chorus. Her parents' barely contained laughter behind the camera adds an additional layer to the cuteness.

Obama Raises Eyebrows with Executive order Revising Authority to Nationalize Resources for Defense

President Obama's signature on an executive order that updates presidential authority to take control over national defense resources in time of emergency has legal minds arguing over whether the White House is trying to expand power or merely organize rules 18 years in the making.

The executive order, signed late Friday, revokes an earlier order put in place by President Bill Clinton in 1994 and says any other previously issued orders or rulings by previous presidents shall remain in effect unless they are inconsistent with the new order.

The purpose of the order, according to its contents, is to make sure the U.S. is prepared to mobilize technological and industrial resources "capable of meeting national defense requirements" and ensure "technological superiority of its national defense equipment in peacetime and in times of national emergency."

It orders Cabinet agencies to determine military and civilian staffing and evaluate access to resources like suppliers, materials, skilled labor and professional and technical personnel. It also is intended to ensure the U.S. government is prepared "in the event of a potential threat to the security of the United States."

The executive order gives the homeland security secretary authority to issue guidance to other department heads to establish and activate a National Defense Executive Reserve (NDER) composed of experts in the private and public sector -- though not full-time federal employees -- to fill executive positions in the federal government in the event of a national defense emergency.

That includes employing consultants or other experts without compensation. The labor secretary can also begin training workers to help address national defense requirements.

The order scopes out the different roles of the National Security Council, Homeland Security Council and National Economic Council in advising the president -- giving the secretary of homeland security authority to provide for the central coordination of the plans and programs delegated under the order.

It also gives authority to the secretary of Commerce to determine how to get the industrial base to support the national defense and meet defense program needs. The Agriculture Department will take care of food resources while the Defense Department will handle water resources in addition to its military role. The heads of the Energy, Health and Human Services and Transportation departments also are responsible for their jurisdictions.

The order notes that unless determined otherwise by the president or his national security adviser, the authority "may be used only to support programs that have been determined in writing as necessary or appropriate to promote the national defense."

This order came on the heals of another presidential order a few days prior that reiterated the United States' "national emergency" stance toward Iran -- a rather routine measure that has been repeated every year since 1995 but that might have caused some confusion.

Several legal eagle bloggers say there's nothing to fear.

"There is enough that Obama actually does wrong without creating claims which do not hold up to scrutiny," wrote William Jacobson, associate clinical professor of law at Cornell Law School and blogger for the Legal Insurrection blog.

FBI, Justice Department to Investigate Killing of Trayvon Martin by Neighborhood Watchman

The FBI, the Justice Department's Civil Rights Division, and the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Middle District of Florida will investigate the killing of Trayvon Martin, an unarmed 17-year-old Florida high school student, who was shot by a self-appointed neighborhood watchman.

"The department will conduct a thorough and independent review of all of the evidence and take appropriate action at the conclusion of the investigation," a statement released by the Justice Department this evening said. "The department also is providing assistance to and cooperating with the state officials in their investigation into the incident."

George Zimmerman, who claimed self-defense in shooting Martin, has not been charged with any crime in the fatal shooting of the teenager on Feb. 26.

Outrage over the incident has only grown, as irregularities in the police investigation have been uncovered and 911 tapes released last week showed Zimmerman ignored a dispatcher's directive not to pursue the teen.

Zimmerman also blatantly violated major principles of the Neighborhood Watch manual, ABC News has learned.

The manual, from the National Neighborhood Watch Program, states: "It should be emphasized to members that they do not possess police powers, and they shall not carry weapons or pursue vehicles. They should also be cautioned to alert police or deputies when encountering strange activity. Members should never confront suspicious persons who could be armed and dangerous."

Yet Zimmerman made a nonemergency call to police and pursued him anyway, even though 911 dispatcher told him not to, before fatally shooting the teenager.

The Sanford, Fla., Police Department, relenting to massive public pressure, released parts of these 911 tapes pertaining to the shooting.

On the tapes, Zimmerman, claiming Martin looked intoxicated, says he saw the teenager cut through from the main street in the tidy Retreat at Twin Lakes, onto a path between two blocks of townhouses, and decided to gave chase. Zimmerman told a police dispatcher, "These a**holes, they always get away"

    Dispatcher: "Are you following him?"

Dispatcher: "OK, we don't need you to do that."

Zimmerman didn't stop and ultimately confronted Martin, who was carrying a package of Skittles and a bottle of iced tea. The two allegedly scuffled. In a series of seven 911 calls, eyewitnesses reported that they heard a sort of howling. One caller said, "they're wrestling right in the back of my porch, one man is yelling help."

Then a gun shot rang out. The howling and yelling stopped.

Zimmerman wasn't arrested at the time, and ABC News has learned he was not given a drug or alcohol test that night -- standard in most homicide investigations.

    Sweden Moving Towards Cashless Economy

Sweden was the first European country to introduce bank notes in 1661. Now it's come farther than most on the path toward getting rid of them.

"I can't see why we should be printing bank notes at all anymore," says Bjoern Ulvaeus, former member of 1970's pop group ABBA, and a vocal proponent for a world without cash.

The contours of such a society are starting to take shape in this high-tech nation, frustrating those who prefer coins and bills over digital money.

In most Swedish cities, public buses don't accept cash; tickets are prepaid or purchased with a cell phone text message. A small but growing number of businesses only take cards, and some bank offices — which make money on electronic transactions — have stopped handling cash altogether.

"There are towns where it isn't at all possible anymore to enter a bank and use cash," complains Curt Persson, chairman of Sweden's National Pensioners' Organization.

He says that's a problem for elderly people in rural areas who don't have credit cards or don't know how to use them to withdraw cash.

The decline of cash is noticeable even in houses of worship, like the Carl Gustaf Church in Karlshamn, southern Sweden, where Vicar Johan Tyrberg recently installed a card reader to make it easier for worshippers to make offerings.

"People came up to me several times and said they didn't have cash but would still like to donate money," Tyrberg says.

Bills and coins represent only 3 percent of Sweden's economy, compared to an average of 9 percent in the eurozone and 7 percent in the U.S., according to the Bank for International Settlements, an umbrella organization for the world's central banks.

Three percent is still too much if you ask Ulvaeus. A cashless society may seem like an odd cause for someone who made a fortune on "Money, Money, Money" and other ABBA hits, but for Ulvaeus it's a matter of security.

After his son was robbed for the third time he started advocating a faster transition to a fully digital economy, if only to make life harder for thieves.

"If there were no cash, what would they do?" says Ulvaeus, 66.

The Swedish Bankers' Association says the shrinkage of the cash economy is already making an impact in crime statistics.

The number of bank robberies in Sweden plunged from 110 in 2008 to 16 in 2011 — the lowest level since it started keeping records 30 years ago. It says robberies of security transports are also down.

"Less cash in circulation makes things safer, both for the staff that handle cash, but also of course for the public," says Par Karlsson, a security expert at the organization.

The prevalence of electronic transactions — and the digital trail they generate — also helps explain why Sweden has less of a problem with graft than countries with a stronger cash culture, such as Italy or Greece, says economics professor Friedrich Schneider of the Johannes Kepler University in Austria.

Michael Bay Upsets Turtles Nerds With New Film Details

The release of producer Michael Bay's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles big-screen reboot has already been announced for December 2013.

But while you might expect fans to be happy with the news there will soon be more Turtles films to watch, more Turtles toys to buy and more Turtles-branded fast food to scarf, it turns out the fans are actually furious.

(And yes, there really are still hardcore Turtles in the world.)

So why are the fans so hot and bothered in their half-shells? Because the Transformers director has announced that the Turtles will be aliens in the new film, not mutants.

Speaking at a Nickleodeon event at the Jazz at Lincoln Center in New York, Bay said: "When you see this movie, kids will believe one day that these turtles do exist, when we're done with this movie.

"These turtles are from an alien race, and they're going to be tough, edgy, funny and completely loveable."

Michael Bay talks Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles by stuffwelike

Aliens? Until now the Turtles were regular Earth turtles mutated into humanoids by green goo, which is what gave them their powers. For those who weren't nine years old in 1992, those powers basically comprise martial arts, the ability to make wisecracks and an obsession with pizza.

In any case, messing with one of the four words in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles hasn't gone down well.

Steps Star Claire Richards Lands TV Cake Show On ITV's 'Lorraine'

Steps star Claire Richards joked she didn't plan to eat everything she makes as she was unveiled as the host of a new cookery slot on ITV's Lorraine.

The 34-year-old singer and mother-of-two - who is currently a size 16 after her latest weight-loss drive - will present Lorraine's Cake Club on the ITV1 morning show.

Claire, who has publicly slimmed down only to pile on the pounds three times said: "Apparently it's not a good idea for me to be hosting a cake club because clearly I'm going to eat everything! So silly."

The Tragedy singer - who has competed in Celebrity MasterChef in the past, revealed it was her dream to become a TV cook as she made an apple cake on the show.

Claire said: "It's a little dream come true, I can't believe it's finally happening. It's really exciting, I'm a bit nervous though.

"I did used to bake as a child all the time. On a Saturday I used to get all my ingredients, I used to put them in all my mum's bowls - which used to drive her mental because I'd dirty everything - and then I would pretend I was on a cooking show myself."

"Let's face it, who doesn't like cake? I think most of us like some kind of cake somewhere along the line."

Viewers are being asked to send in their own recipes in the hunt for Britain's best cake.

Claire said cooking was a great thing to do with her two young children Charlie, four, and two-year-old Daisy.

Tulisa Contostavlos Sex Tape? Video Claims To Show X Factor Judge Performing Oral Sex

A tape allegedly showing X Factor Judge Tulisa Contostavlos performing oral sex on an unidentified man has emerged online.

The video was featured on several websites, including one called NotTulisa, but it has since been taken down.

A cached version however remains, with the following text: “Not Tulisa and an ex-boyfriend recorded themselves having sex in a public place, shot backstage at a music gig, on his Blackberry.

“This crystal-clear movie is in no way is a hidden camera! Just look at Not Tulisa playing to the camera, smiling and laughing... the naughty little minx!

“The fact it is filmed in a PUBLIC PLACE makes the whole sex act even more risky, as anyone could have been watching or taking pictures.”

Huffington Post UK was waiting for comment from Tulisa’s representatives at time of press.

In August last year a sex tape which allegedly revealed the N-Dubz singer “in a raunchy romp” was dismissed as 100 per cent fake by the 24-year-old and her management.

The clip, filmed on a Blackberry, was being offered for sale for £500,000, the Sun revealed.read more

Tennessee Abortion Bill Would Make Abortion Providers' Names Public

A new bill moving through the Tennessee House of Representatives would require the state to publish the names of each doctor who performs an abortion and detailed statistics about the woman having the procedure, which opponents worry will spur anti-abortion violence in the state.

The Life Defense Act of 2012, sponsored by state Rep. Matthew Hill (R-Jonesboro), mandates that the Tennessee Department of Health make detailed demographic information about every woman who has an abortion available to the public, including her age, race, county, marital status, education level, number of children, the location of the procedure and how many times she has been pregnant. Each report would also have to include the name of the doctor who performed the procedure.

Several health organizations, including the Tennessee Medical Association and Planned Parenthood, are concerned that the bill will make doctors and women vulnerable to attacks, especially considering the murder of Dr. George Tiller, a Kansas abortion provider, by an anti-abortion activist in 2009.

"We live in an environment where there is a lot of violence against abortion providers, clinics, and clinic staff," said Jeff Teague, president and CEO of Planned Parenthood of Middle and Eastern Tennessee. "We've had physicians who provide abortion care murdered in the past few years. This is an attempt to intimidate physicians who provide abortion care and the women who seek abortions and to terrorize them."

Rep. Gary Odom (D-Nashville) called the bill "very dangerous," and said the Republicans who voted it out of a House subcommittee offered "no explanation as to why this was something that needed to be done."

"It puts a target on women's and physicians' backs," he told HuffPost. "I think it's a very dangerous piece of legislation and serves no purpose I can tell other than trying to intimidate women and physicians."

Hill, the bill's sponsor, did not respond to a request for comment. Nor did Tennessee Right To Life, the anti-abortion group that first suggested the bill to conservative state lawmakers. But at a subcommittee hearing on the bill earlier this month, Hill said, "I think it's fair for folks on both sides to see how prevalent abortion is in our counties and in our communities."

Lana Del Rey 'Blue Jeans': Singer Premieres New Music Video

Lana Del Rey has released her new music video for "Blue Jeans," the third single off her first major-label album "Born to Die," which debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 chart.

Wearing only a white vintage-looking bathing suit, Del Rey unleashes her sensual side in the monochromatic video, directed by Yoann Lemoine, who also directed her video for "Born to Die."

In "Blue Jeans," Del Rey is seen going in and out of a swimming pool, while wrapped in the arms of a tattooed man, played by model Bradley Soileau, who also starred in Del Rey's "Born to Die" video. However, the singer's tattooed model isn't the only one joining her for a swim. Halfway through the video, two alligators are seen swimming past the couple underwater.

Del Rey also self-released a video for "Blue Jeans" in 2011. In the first video, Del Rey gathered old video clips online, including footage from Australian photographer Nirrimi Joy Firebrace's "tender hearted" project, and filmed herself in front of her webcam.

Extra Girly Genes Boost Male Sex Drive

Women may not be known as the gender with the highest sex drive, but it turns out, at least in mice, males with an extra "girly" sex chromosome seemed to have an insatiable appetite for sex.

In mammals, gender is determined by "sex chromosomes," the X and Y. If you have two X chromosomes, you are a female. If you have one X and one Y, you are a male. (Chromosomes are long strings of DNA that hold many genes; humans have 23 pairs of chromosomes, one set inherited from each parent.)

The study was done in mice, not humans, but the genes that determine sex are similar in mammals, so the results might be applicable, especially in males with Klinefelter's syndrome, who are genetically XXY.

"Whether this is a specific phenomenon to mice, or even to this particular inbred background strain of laboratory mice, is still an open question, but we did find similar results in two different genetic models of mice," study researcher Paul Bonthuis, a graduate student at the University of Virginia, told LiveScience in an email. "To know how general the finding is to other mammals one would have to do studies with other mammalian species directly."

The researchers studied two special lines of mice.

In the first, they were able to separate the effects of the X and Y chromosomes from the mouse's sexual development (which is dependent on one gene on the Y chromosome). This means that even lab mice with odd numbers of sex chromosomes — for instance males with two X's or females that have a Y — still developed normally; they had normal genitalia and sexual behaviors for their gender.

In another genetically engineered mouse model the researchers linked the X and Y chromosome so this pair could be matched up with an X chromosome, resulting in genetically XXY males.

These two models provided different parts of the puzzle, with the first one revealing developmental differences created by genes on either the X or Y chromosome that aren't involved in normal development. The second model would reveal how an extra X chromosome affected the male mice.

Sex hormone levels were normal in all of these special lines of mice.

When they studied these mice, they found that the males with two X chromosomes (the XXY males) were about twice as fast to ejaculate and ejaculated nearly twice as often than those with only one. They also mounted females more often and during sex showed more pelvic-thrusting motions.

Kendall Jenner vs. Kim Kardashian – Fashion Faceoff

Perhaps Kim Kardashian should've thought twice before loaning little sister Kendall Jenner a dress. The reality star, 31, blogged that her 16-year-old sibling borrowed her sleeveless black- and-white frock by Azzedine Alaia this week. Kim and Kendall had to know, however, that sharing clothes would leave the rest of us with quite a style showdown. Sounds like it's time for our very first sister edition of who wore it best!

More than a year ago, Kim made the design just part of her look for the NYC soiree celebrating the season finale of E!'s "The Spin Crowd" - remember that show?! - way back on October 6, 2010. Big sis Kim styled her hair the same way as Kendall's, but she also added black tights, an oversized belt, and, of course, plenty of makeup.

This is one frock that we shouldn't be surprised to see any of the Kardashian gals wearing, because they obviously adore it. "It's such an amazing dress!" Kim gushed on her blog. "I got it when I was in Paris with my mom in 2010 when we met Mr. Alaia himself. I remember I always used to try on my mom's Alaia dresses when I was younger, so I'm glad I have younger sisters I can share my favorite pieces with." While Kim's sentiment is sweet, the truth is, sisters or not, only one woman can emerge victorious. In this case, the clear winner for me is Kendall, thanks to her simple styling. Kim's tights and belt are just too much to add when she's already wearing a busy pattern. Do you agree?

Report: 'I am the real dictator,' wife of Syria's Bashar Assad says

The wife of Syria's President Bashar Assad declared that she was the family's "real dictator," according to an email leaked to regime opponents, a British newspaper reported Monday.

British-born Asma Assad's messages imply that she occupies an important spot the dictator's inner circle, the Daily Telegraph reported.
This and a slew of other alleged email exchanges among members of the Syrian elite have been spilling out for days, shedding light on the workings of the embattled government as it continues its violent crackdown on protesters. More than 8,000 people have been killed since the start of the Syrian uprising just over a year ago, according to U.N. figures.

Syria email hack points to new 'information war'

Late Sunday, a firefight broke out between Free Syrian Army rebels and forces loyal to Assad in Mezze, a main district of the capital Damascus, witnesses told Reuters, while a car bomb ripped through a residential area of Syria's second city Aleppo, a day after twin blasts killed 27 in the capital Damascus.

One Direction Show Coming To Nickelodeon

The five boys of the British-Irish pop group that have been making girls swoon will soon have tweens screaming from the comfort of their own living rooms.

One Direction has landed its own Nickelodeon TV show, the network has confirmed via Twitter.

The boy band, known for their hit "What Makes You Beautiful," got their big break when they came in third on "The X Factor" in the U.K. in 2010. But many fans want the group to stick to music. After the Nickelodeon news hit the web, the hashtag "#1DPleaseDontGoToNick" started cropping up all over Twitter, Us Weekly reported.

The Nickelodeon audience will be well-acquainted with One Direction (or 1D, as they're often referred to) since Niall Horan, 18, Zayn Malik, 19, Liam Payne, 18, Harry Styles, 18, and Louis Tomlinson, 20, will soon appear on "iCarly"" and will be performing at the Kids Choice Awards.

"It's going to be scream-worthy," Paula Kaplan, an executive producer of the Kids' Choice Awards, said of the 1D performance at the KCAs, according to Pop Crush. "We have seen their popularity explode, and we are excited to introduce them to our audience."

'Dancing With The Stars' Season 14 First Meeting: Exclusive Sneak Peek

"Dancing With the Stars" Season 14 is upon us (two-hour premiere airs Mon., Mar. 19, 8 p.m. ET on ABC), and we'll finally get to see Sherri Shepherd, Jack Wagner, Gavin DeGraw, Maria Menounos, Jaleel White, Melissa Gilbert, Gladys Knight, Martina Navratilova, Roshon Fegan, William Levy, Katherine Jenkins and Donald Driver take to the dancefloor to battle it out for the coveted mirrorball trophy.

We've got an exclusive sneak peek at the premiere with ABC's annual fan-favorite video, "The First Meeting." Watch below to see all the jumping up and down, screaming and unedited first impressions when the stars met their pros, plus a few hilarious "Who are you?" reactions.

Maria Menounos and Sherri Shepherd both welcomed their partners (Derek Hough and Valentin Chmerkovskiy, respectively) with a lot of screams. "I can't hear," Valentin told Sherri with a laugh. "You can't hear?," Sherri replied. "Oh, cuz I scream a lot." But Sherri will also certainly keep us laughing with gems like this: "Dr. Oz says that you can prevent dementia by dancing ... So for 10 weeks, I won't be demented."

But which pros had no idea who their stars were? (We know Maks Chmerkovskiy had to ask Melissa Gilbert who she was when they first met, but there was another big questions mark that's pretty cute.) And which pair admits that they're "already like an old married couple"? And what did Jack Wagner do for his partner Anna Trebunskaya that none of her other celebrity partners have ever done? It's all in the video.

If we're using the early practice footage to handicap the season, consider these moments:

Madonna 'I F****D Up': Hear The Newest Track Off MDNA

Madonna's back with one hell of a mea culpa. Her new track from the upcoming MDNA album, "I F****D Up," begins with everyone's sorriest excuse and continues with more self-pitying words made strangely catchy by the song's heavy bassline.

"I F****D Up" is the latest track to be released in the steady drip of songs leading to the album's drop date, March 26. They include "I Don't Give A," thought to shed light into her split from ex-husband Guy Ritchie, and "Give Me All Your Luvin," featuring Super Bowl cohorts Nicki Minaj and M.I.A. Madge's 15-year-old daughter Lourdes also takes a turn on the track "Superstar," though she remains uncredited.

MDNA has been hailed as the 53-year-old pop legend's return to music made for the dance floor.

    Dumbbell Hot Potato Squat
The hot potato squat may sound like a kid's recess activity, but don't be fooled -- it’s also a cutting-edge fat-loss exercise that will get your heart pumping and your muscles burning in almost no time, says Gaddour. It starts with one of the most effective exercises invented: The squat. When done correctly, a squat trains a lot of muscles, particularly big ones like your quadriceps, hamstrings and glutes. In fact, it burns more calories per rep than almost any other exercise.

The Strangest Things You Can Buy Online

In rough economic times, people used to resort to selling blood or apples.

Now, thanks to the Internet, they are selling nail clippings, dead mice and the naming rights to their unborn children to help make ends meet.

It's not just people taking advantage of the Internet's potential as a global flea market who are showing that pretty much anything someone could want -- from the mundane to the bizarre -- can be found online. Companies can now connect directly to buyers of their esoteric and exotic wares.

The scientifically minded, for example, can now easily buy skeletons (human, animal or fossilized), owl vomit, snake venom and scorpion poison -- items even the best Wal-Mart can't be expected to keep on its shelves.

Looking to intimidate that smug neighbor with a new Prius? Mortar Investments, a Web site based in Prague, lets you add, for example, a $72,000 SU-100 soviet tank destroyer to an online shopping cart (don't count on an Amazon Prime type of shipping discount).

Sites such as DudeIWantThat.com offer a portal for the cool and extravagant. Those looking for the downright strange might find more success hunting on Amazon or Etsy. eBay goes the extra step of categorizing nearly 22,000 head-scratching items as "Weird Stuff," "Slightly Unusual," "Really Weird" and "Totally Bizarre."

DudeIWantThat.com is run by the brother and sister team of Ryan and Erin Carstens. It launched last summer with its first featured product, a see-through canoe.

Erin Carstens says their hope for the site is to be the "definitive curator of everything from slick gadgets and sick oddities" and highlight "truly innovative designs and ideas that merit making it big."

Narendra Modi features on Time's cover; Congress angry

Gujarat Congress today termed as "biased, partial" the articles by Time magazine as well as the Brookings Institution's on chief minister Narendra Modi, which praised him for state's development, and claimed that they "highlight wrong facts" about Gujarat.

Time magazine, in its March 26 issue, published an article on the Mr Modi, with the heading: "Modi means business", along with a strap: "But can he lead India?"

"I am deeply distressed by two recent articles on Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi. One is by Time magazine and the other is by Brookings Institution. Journalism or reporting is supposed to be balanced and impartial. I am surprised why only those, who have praised Modi, have been quoted," state Congress leader Shaktisinh Gohil told reporters here.

Brookings Institution also recently published an interview of Modi, praising him for the work done by his government for the development of Gujarat.

"These articles are an injustice to Gujarat and India, because they are biased, partial and highlight wrong facts about Gujarat," Mr Gohil said.

"All those with values, all those, who respect Gujarat for it is this land that gave birth to Gandhi and Sardar Patel need to protest against it strongly," he said.

"Modi thinks that by repeating a lie, it becomes the truth. Modi's Goebellian propaganda is once again reflected through these articles," Mr Gohil further alleged.

In a personal attack of Mr Modi, Mr Gohil said, "The Time article, of course, has some correct facts and I have to acknowledge and congratulate the magazine for at least acknowledging that Narendra Modi is a married man, because, to begin with, his long strings of lies, masks and manipulation, Modi has never ever acknowledged his marriage."

"Modi's career began with a lie. For as we are told, the RSS constitution clearly says that their full-time pracharaks have to be unmarried, bachelors, who can devote their life to RSS. Modi began as a RSS pracharak. And so far, has never acknowledged his marriage," Mr Gohil said.

"I sincerely wish Time magazine would have checked the facts doled out by Modi and his government. There are several factual inaccuracies in the article of Time magazine," Mr Gohil said.

"The article says: Gujarat has progressed like never before in Modi regime and is now most industrialised state of India. Right now, Gujarat's growth rate is about 12 per cent growth. Now, in 1992-93, please remember there was no liberalisation and economic reforms at that point of time, Gujarat's growth rate was 16.75 per cent," Mr Gohil said.

"Modi alone has been taking credit for Gujarat and its growth when Gujarat has traditionally been the growth centre of the nation. Time or Brookings should have mentioned that," Mr Gohil said.

Ridley Scott Talks 'Prometheus' As Extended Trailer Debuts

The trailer is a slick piece of work, teasing a mystery (which includes an "invitation" from another civilization) and an expedition featuring co-stars Noomi Rapace and Michael Fassbender, then slowly ratcheting up the tension. Cries of "Get it off! Get if off" suggest a return to the face-hugging alien creatures that have starred in four Alien movies, including Scott's 1979 original. Images in the trailer definitely harken back to that first movie.

Scott, who received scattered standing ovations when he showed up on stage, revealed few details of the plot. He played down the Alien connection, saying that while there has been talk of the movie having "DNA from Alien," once he and Lindelof began story meetings, it morphed into something else.

"It evolved into another universe," he said. "If we're lucky, there'll be a second part. It does leave you with some nice open questions."

Scott talked about how making sci-fi movies has changed since he last tackled the genre. A man in a rubber suit played the alien in Alien, "but today you can pretty much do anything you want" with digital technology, he said. And it's harder to engage audiences these days. "We're almost action-filmed out, almost science fiction-filmed out," Scott said. "So the baseline question is: how original are you going to be?"

Scott didn't really talk about the original aspects of Prometheus, continuing the secrecy around the project that has extended to the actors. "This the closest we'll feel to CIA spies, where we can't tell our loved ones what we are working on," Theron said.

VIDEO: Ridley Scott and Michael Fassbender Explore an 'Alien' Landscape in an International 'Prometheus' Trailer

Unfortunately, the sense of secrecy left the fans gathered in the Convention Center wanting more. In a major departure of convention tradition, the panel didn't take any questions from the audience, instead answering a few questions that were said to have come from Twitter. The move seemed designed to avoid unwanted fan queries.

That development--and the fact that a roughly minute-long IMAX trailer was leaked online in the previous 12 hours, making the trailer Scott introduced not an entirely exclusive reveal for the WonderCon crowd--left some a little disappointed. But, of course, they'll all be in line to see what Scott has come up with on June 8.

Porn industry to Rick Santorum: Butt out

The porn industry has an X-rated reaction to Rick Santorum’s vow to crack down on pornography if he’s elected president: Butt out.

Two giants in the industry contacted by msnbc.com scoff at the Republican presidential candidate's claims that porn is causing “a pandemic of harm” in America and contributing to violence against women.

Nonsense, says Hustler publisher Larry Flynt. Absolutely no proof, says Steven Hirsch, founder and co-chairman of Los Angeles-based Vivid Entertainment, one of the largest makers of erotic movies.

Flynt notes that a 1969 commission set up by President Lyndon Johnson spent millions of dollars studying the impact of porn and concluded there was no evidence such materials were harmful.

“You have guys like Santorum come along and they bring out the bogeyman every chance they get,” Flynt said. "You will be hard-pressed to find anyone that can point out to you a study that shows harm is caused to anyone exposed to porn materials."

“I find it ironic that Republicans (like Santorum) are out there wanting less government and government intruding into our lives, but when it comes to moral issues they want government to legislate morality," says Hirsch. "It doesn’t work. It will never work.”

Santorum, a former Pennsylvania senator who is trying to woo social conservatives, says on his presidential campaign website that if elected he will hire an attorney general who will “vigorously” enforce federal obscenity laws curtailing distribution of hardcore por

State Bank of India (SBI) Recruitment 2012

The State Bank of India (SBI) is going for mammoth recruitment in 2012. The largest bank has announced to recruit as many as 8500 assistant (clerk) vacancies this year. For this massive recruitment, the SBI has invited online applications in its latest drive.

The SBI-North East has also also invited applications for its project-2012. The notification for this was published in the last week of December 2011.

To facilitate the interested candidates, the SBI has also started a blog named sbirecruitment2012.blogspot.in

Since the SBI holds all-India examination for its recruitment, a large number of candidates appear in the test.

It may be noted that in year 2009, the MNS had issued threats to disrupt the SBI examination organised in the Maharashtra, as large number of candidates from others states were participating in the examination.

Peyton Manning Will Workout For the Titans in Knoxville Tomorrow

Jonathan Hutton has been all over it tonight. He has now learned that Peyton Manning's throwing session for the Titans tomorrow will take place in Knoxville. This is another really good strategic move for the Titans having him do his throwing session in a place that he really loves. In the end it probably will not make much of an impact in where he decides to sign, but it cannot hurt.

My goal for this weekend is to step away from all of this a little bit. I will be checking to see if there are any updates after the session in the morning, but after that I am going to try and unplug from everything for a little bit. Get outside and get some fresh air for my mental health.

There will be a couple of contests that are designed to take the mind off of Manning Watch 2012 because there will be plenty of that to go around on Monday.

Kony 2012 director Jason Russell hospitalized after being detained for bizarre behavior, wife blames exhaustion

Jason Russell, the director of the Kony 2012 video and the co-founder of Invisible Children, was detained by San Diego police Thursday for bizarre behavior, although they did not arrest him. His wife, Danica Russell, released a statement Friday blaming exhaustion for what she called his “irrational” behavior.

According to NBC San Diego, said that Russell was detained for allegedly masturbating in public and vandalizing cars, the San Diego Police Department said. The SDPD also said that he seemed to be under the influence of a something, but did not specify what. "Due to the nature of the detention, he was not arrested. During the evaluation we learned we probably needed to take him to a medical facility because of statements he was saying,” SDPD Lt. Andra Brown told the media.

TMZ actually posted a video of what appears to be the incident described by police.

Police added that the 33-year-old was described as only wearing his underwear and that people were trying to calm him down. When they arrived, Russell was completely cooperative with police and an SDPD spokesperson said that there will likely be no criminal charges because this is more of a medical situation.

Invisible Children CEO Ben Keesy later issued a statement on the organization’s blog Friday, acknowledging that Russell was hospitalized “... yesterday suffering from exhaustion, dehydration, and malnutrition. He is now receiving medical care and is focused on getting better.” Keesy added that, since the Kony 2012 video became an Internet sensation, “The past two weeks have taken a severe emotional toll on all of us, Jason especially, and that toll manifested itself in an unfortunate incident yesterday.”

Keesy said that the organization is “devastated to see him dealing with this personal health issue. We will always love and support Jason, and we ask that you give his entire family privacy during this difficult time.”

MSNBC reports that wife Danica released a statement noting that Russell has been overwhelmed by the publicity the video has received. “We thought a few thousand people would see the film, but in less than a week, millions of people around the world saw it...While that attention was great for raising awareness about Joseph Kony, it also brought a lot of attention to Jason -- and, because of how personal the film is, many of the attacks against it were also very personal, and Jason took them very hard,” she said.

Bethenny Frankel Bares Booty on Anderson

You've gotta give Bethenny Frankel props for being a good sport.

The reality star, entrepreneur and possible future actress appeared on Anderson this week and was challenged by the host to a push-up contest after he said he heard that was Bethenny's frequent go-to move at parties.

The two then jumped down into position... only for Frankel's dress to ride up and for half the audience to get an unexpected few of her bare buttocks. Pretty funny stuff, and handled very well by Bethenny who stammered with excuses for a bit and then finally just asked:

    How did it look?

‘Don’t Re-Nig,’ the racist anti-Obama bumper sticker, appears real

An image purporting to show a racist, anti-Obama bumper sticker on the back of a vehicle has been garnering lots of attention on Facebook in the past 24 hours.

The bumper sticker reads, "Don't Re-Nig in 2012." And in smaller print below, "Stop repeat offenders. Don't' reelect Obama!" The sticker also features an image of the Obama campaign logo crossed out.

Several viewers have claimed the image has been digitally altered. After all, it seems shocking that someone would proudly display an openly racist image on their vehicle in 2012. So, is the image authentic?

It's still unclear is the image of the vehicle has been altered in any way, but a website called "Stumpy's Stickers" offers the bumper sticker for sale for $3. And as The Root points out, the site also several other racially insensitive items for sale as well. The urban myth debunking site Snopes says it cannot yet determine the origins of the photo, but also points out the availability of other similar t-shirts and bumper stickers.

There is even an eponymous "Dontre-nig.com" website that appears to have crashed. Going to the page brings up a "Bandwith Limit Exceeded" warning message. I checked the domain registration service site WHOIS, which listed the site as belonging to an anonymous owner who purchased the URL through the company DomainsByProxy.com, based in Scottsdale, Arizona. The company specializes in keeping the names of Internet domain owners private.

Sex: 3 Reasons Why You May Not Be Enjoying It

When I decided to become a professional sexuality educator, I had one particular goal: I wanted women to speak honestly about sex in order to maximize their physical and emotional pleasure. Sure, that may seem like a tall order, but I'm an optimist. Why is this an important issue? There are lots of women engaging in sex (of all kinds) but not having pleasurable experiences. That seems silly to me. If you're having sex (of any kind), it should be fulfilling on a number of levels. So here is just a small sample of the physical and emotional issues that can affect your ability to enjoy sex and in many cases, you can do something about it. But the first step is figuring out what is going on.

    1. You're Just Not Ready

In order to really enjoy sex, your body needs to be ready. Not just mentally or emotionally ready, but physically, biologically ready.

Before a woman can experience orgasm, her body goes through a sexual response cycle (Masters and Johnson). During that cycle, a woman gets aroused, blood pools in her genitals and breasts, there is increased muscle tension, vaginal lubrication and expansion of the vagina. And that's not all: the labia spread and her breasts and clitoris swell. As the cycle continues, women develop a "sex flush" (a reddish blush over the breasts and genital area) and the labia spread even further ... basically the labia are saying "I'm ready!" Now, that's great, but most of us have intercourse before we get to that point. And you know what your body is saying then? "Wait -- a little more foreplay, please! Soon ... just not yet." But if we are not voicing that to our partners, we're not maximizing our sexual pleasure. Foreplay isn't just something that we like; foreplay is something that we need. If a woman isn't lubricated enough (and not all women produce enough vaginal lubrication; this is why we buy some at the drug store or specialty sex boutique), sex isn't going to be as enjoyable as it could be if we were really ready.

    2. You're Guilty

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. Other than our skin, our brains are our biggest sex organ. If our brain isn't into sex, it's extraordinary difficult for our bodies to be. Perhaps the biggest contributor to our brain's inability to fully engage and enjoy sex comes from years of mixed and unhealthy messaging about female sexuality. If during your childhood you were told about the "loose" girls or the (ugh, I hate this term) "promiscuous" ones, you were getting some insidious messages about female sexuality. You were being told (deliberately or inadvertently) about the sexual double standard. You were not supposed to want sex; you weren't supposed to enjoy sex. (Sadly, with the "slut" banter and anti-contraception movement going on today, it still seems like demonizing female sexuality is acceptable and a means of achieving political success.)

Guilt and shame surrounding sex creates a mindset where it's very difficult to be fully engaged in sex (of any kind). Perhaps if we stopped shaming we could get to a place of enjoying.

    3. You're Not Into Your Partner

Okay, so no one really wants to be the one to say it, but if you're not enjoying sex, it may be because you're not really interested in the person you're having sex with. Maybe they are selfish lovers; maybe their hygiene is questionable. For whatever reason, if your partner isn't getting you excited, sex isn't going to be all that exciting. Of course, there's always the chance that your lack of interest isn't that extreme. Maybe you've had a fight with your partner and you're angry. In some cases, no amount of make up sex is going to make it okay. Think about your relationship and if it is playing a role in whether or not sex is satisfying for you.

Body Image: The Danger Of A Single Body Ideal

Recently, I came across a blog post by a personal trainer in which she explored one of my least favorite terms as applied to women's bodies -- the word "bulky." Any weight-training woman is familiar with this term, as it is often the first thing other women will say as their reason for refusing to lift weights. The idea is that lifting weights will lead to the development of big muscles, and the development of big muscles means a woman will no longer be beautiful and will instead be manly, unattractive, scary and doomed to a sex-free, love-free life.

The comments on the blog post illustrated this line of thought clearly, as woman after woman expressed dismay that she had taken up heavy lifting and was horrified to see that her body had developed muscles. Some even clearly articulated their belief that in doing so, they had crossed a very bright line in which women were meant to be weaker and protected by the men they loved.

The women had set out in pursuit of the slender, compact body most often displayed by female celebrities, and instead they found themselves becoming muscular. It didn't matter that they were also stronger and that they were most likely healthier, with tougher bones and a stronger heart. What mattered was that they were bigger.

As I read through those comments, I reflected on a TED talk given by writer Chimamanda Adichie (watch below) in which she spoke about the "danger of the single story." She described growing up in Nigeria and yet writing stories in which her blonde-haired, blue-eyed characters ate apples and played in snow. Every book she had read was written by British authors about British life, and as a result she hadn't realized it was possible to write books about her own life. She thought the only way to be worthy of literature was to be a foreigner.

I thought about her words and I realized that we as a culture had accepted the single story of the "ideal body" so thoroughly that no room remained for alternate definitions of female beauty. Take the comments on the aforementioned blog post. The "ideal female body" -- a slim figure with breasts that aren't too big and thighs that don't touch and a butt that isn't too flat and nothing that jiggles too much -- is desired with such single-mindedness that the non-cosmetic benefits of weight training are dismissed without a second thought.

I use the example of women and muscles because that is what I, as an athletic woman who lifts weights, am most familiar with. However, the story of the single ideal body manifests itself in breast augmentation and pumping parties, in gimmicky diets and weight-loss gadgets bought on installment plans, in firming creams and treatments meant to zap cellulite into non-existence. Fortunes are spent and made in pursuit of the "ideal body," and yet the only thing that has happened is that the ideal has become even more unattainable than ever before.

It's not hard to see how this happened, either. Look at our culture, at the bodies represented on television and in magazines and in movies and in advertising. Just as Adichie only thought she could write stories about white children in snowy climates, we as a culture have trouble envisioning a standard of beauty that is not tall, thin, able-bodied and European. Even when we do embrace someone who does not fit that standard, we tend to be very self-congratulatory about it, thus undoing whatever progress was gained by reducing that person into little more than a symbol of our open-mindedness.

Kobe Bryant: Derek Fisher's exit hard

Los Angeles Lakers guard Kobe Bryant spoke to reporters on Friday for the first time since the team traded his longtime backcourt running mate, Derek Fisher, following the Lakers' 97-92 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves.

His words were measured. While some expected Bryant to unleash a tirade after management parted ways with Fisher, considering the pair won five championships together and came into the league together as rookies in 1996, Bryant's message to the media was more somber than sharp.

"Very difficult," Bryant said. "I'm not used to it because I've been with him my entire career, aside from that little stint that he had away from us. So, it's very different for me. It's pretty weird."

Added Bryant in his ESPN 710 Radio postgame interview, "I think I was shocked just like everybody else ... We've always been close and we'll continue to be close."

For more news and notes on the Lakers, check out the Land O' Lakers blog from the Kamenetzky brothers. Blog

When asked if he was angry about the trade that sent Fisher, along with a first-round pick to the Houston Rockets in exchange for forward Jordan Hill, Bryant said, simply, "No."

"I've been here for awhile and I've had some of my closest friends go, starting with Caron [Butler], Ronny Turiaf, Lamar Odom and Derek," Bryant said. "So I've been through it so many times before."

However, Bryant did not hide his irritation when asked when he was informed the Fisher trade had occurred.

"Don't start no [expletive]," Bryant said. "I'm not even going to answer it. Everybody would be too shocked."

Bryant said he had been in contact with Fisher on several occasions since the trade occurred Thursday.

"I don't get that sentimental about it," Bryant said. "I texted him [Thursday] and we kind of had a laugh about it because he knows how I am. We just talked about the good times and what a fun time it was to go to battle together and things like that, but that's about as sentimental as I'm going to get."

When asked to describe Fisher's mood following the trade, Bryant said, "You guys got to ask Derek. He's much more politically correct than I am ... Talk to Derek about it. I'm sure he'll answer it the way he best sees fit."

Bryant said the hardest thing to replace about Fisher will be his championship experience.

"That doesn't happen by accident," said Bryant. "There's a reason why players that have multiple championships have multiple championships. There's a certain characteristic and an understanding and knowledge and that's not something that's easily taught. You kind of have to go through it and it kind of has to be part of your DNA from the beginning. So, that's something that's obviously tough to replace but we believe that [Ramon] Sessions has that DNA."

'American Idol' Recap: Top 10 Revealed After One More Contestant Goes Home

After the semi-shocking Jermaine Jones disqualification last night, I had some doubts that "American Idol" would eliminate another contestant this week, but apparently sentimentality wasn't going to get in the way of a good show.

Though it was a sub-par week that saw plenty of contestants finding loopholes for the "song from the year of your birth" theme by using covers of older tunes, there were a few standout performances -- most notably Joshua Ledet's rousing rendition of "When a Man Loves a Woman." Tonight's results were, again, all filler and no thriller, complete with a cameo from Tommy Hilfiger -- who is apparently tasked with being the show's "image advisor," poor thing -- and performances by Demi Lovato and Chris Daughtry.

But all you really want to know is who was shown the door, and that contestant was ...

    Shannon Magrane.

Her performance of Mariah Carey and Boyz II Men's "One Sweet Day" was weak and pitchy on Wednesday night, but in true "Idol" fashion, the judges loved it. "I was honestly terrified for you, but you did a beautiful job with that," Jennifer told her last night, while Randy called her "fearless." Luckily, America and Jimmy Iovine weren't half as tone-deaf as the judges apparently were, and after an encore performance designed to tempt the judges into using their coveted "Save" on her, the statuesque 16-year-old was sent packing. She kept a smile on her face, but I'm sure she was crying on the inside.

All the other contestants will be making the rounds on the "Idol" tour once the season is over, and now I'm sure the systematic removal of all the women in the competition will resume, as it does every season. Still, Shannon was a smart choice to go home since she's still young and vocally immature, and she clearly needs to overcome her confidence issues before taking on such big songs on such a huge platform. Joining her in the bottom three were Erika Van Pelt and Elise Testone, because a pretty male face is apparently far more important than vocal range or stage presence.

Christopher Nolan Screens 'Dark Knight Rises' for Warner Bros

The Hollywood Reporter that Nolan on Friday presented his first cut of 2012's most-anticipated film to top Warner Bros. executives, including film chief Jeff Robinov and production president Greg Silverman.

The movie doesn’t open until July 20, but Nolan has allowed himself plenty of time to fine-tune the film as he and the brass see fit. Sources say Nolan has been a fixture on the Warners lot during the past few days after finishing a monthslong shoot and editing process. The follow-up to 2008's $1 billion-grossing The Dark Knight was filmed in locations as diverse as Los Angeles, New York, New Jersey and Pittsburgh as well as in parts of India and the U.K.

The Batman tale returns most of the cast from Dark Knight, including Christian Bale, Morgan Freeman and Gary Oldman, along with a new crop of luminaries including Anne Hathaway, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Marion Cotillard and Tom Hardy as villain Bane.

The movie opens a week after July's Comic-Con convention, which Nolan has never attended. Nolan’s previous tentpole movies – Batman Begins, The Dark Knight and Inception – have opened before Comic-Con during their respective summers, but in light of the latest movie’s release date, speculation has already begun that this year will be different.

    Gallagher Suffers Heart Attack

Gallagher's manager, Christine Scherrer, has told The Huffington Post that the comedian is currently in an induced coma and will remain so for the next 24 hours to relax and recover. She said his family is with him and, according to his doctors, all signs are good.

His performance dates for this weekend and next have been rescheduled but upcoming dates remain in place. Scherrer also said that Gallagher had been in excellent health since his previous heart attack last year. This is the first incident since that time.

On Wednesday night, Gallagher did a meet-and-greet with his fans prior to his scheduled show at Hat Tricks in Lewisville, Texas, and suffered a heart attack in his green room before taking the stage.

    Previously:
According to his management company Too Fun Promotions, Gallagher, the iconic and often polarizing comedian who made a name for himself by smashing watermelons with a sledge hammer during his shows, is currently hospitalized after suffering a heart attack.

The comedian was scheduled to perform at Hat Tricks in Lewisville, Texas, when, shortly before his performance, he began to suffer severe chest pains and was rushed to the hospital, where he remains for the time being, according to TMZ.

The comedian has become a somewhat controversial figure in the comedy community in recent years, coming under fire for some of his material, and famously walking out of his appearance on Marc Maron's beloved WTF Podcast. Despite that, he still commands sold-out audiences across the country and tours continuously.

Gallagher suffered an earlier heart attack almost exactly a year ago while performing on stage at Whiskey Bone's Roadhouse in Rochester, Minn. In a video of the incident, Gallagher is seen collapsing immediately after smashing what appears to be a bottle of ketchup.

Two weeks later, at a performance in Boca Raton, Fla., he explained to his audience, "I almost died two weeks ago ... these are extra days that I've been given. I guess God said, 'Wait a minute, Boca ain't had their show yet.' So it's not me, it's God's will we have this show tonight." He continued, "You can like God all you want to but I'm pissed at him ... I had a heart attack while I was doing sledge-o-matic, which is gonna look great in the paper. But now I could die doing something stupid and my story won't be as cool."

'The Vampire Diaries' Recap: The Killer Is Revealed!

Do not read on if you have not seen Season 3, Episode 16 of The CW's The Vampire Diaries, entitled, "1912."

Well, that was interesting. As any fan of "The Vampire Diaries" knows, you have to be ready for anything -- to expect the unexpected -- but was anyone actually expecting that?

The mystery of the Mystic Falls serial killer was finally solved, resulting in one of the most shocking moments in the series' history. Alaric was the one killing off the council members. He killed Meredith's jerk of an ex-boyfriend, Caroline's father, and ironically, he nearly killed himself.

In an effort to "hang" with Stefan -- you know, "brother bonding" -- Damon takes his baby bro on a walk down memory lane, where they recall a similar string of murders happening throughout Mystic Falls in 1912.

The only factor linking the two cases was the magical Gilbert ring that Alaric and Jeremy wear now. Hopefully, this means that we'll finally get to understand more about the ring and its powers. And should we be worried about Jeremy? After all, we haven't seen him in a while. How do we know that his ring isn't making him go completely bonkers?

But perhaps the biggest question is whether or not Alaric is curable? With actor Matt Davis heading to The CW's "Cult" pilot, things don't look good for Alaric's diagnosis. And since we know how Alaric likes to get himself into trouble, if he takes the ring off, is his death imminent?

I hope not. Alaric and Elena's brother-sister relationship is quite honestly one of my favorites on the show, and I would hate to see what kind of an emotional -- and dangerous -- wreck Elena would be without him.

Now that our brains have all been thrown for a loop -- and with the mystery finally solved -- let's focus on some of my favorite parts of the episode, all of which involve the Salvatore brothers. I have to be honest. My favorite "Vampire Diaries" relationship is the one between Damon and Stefan. This season, the Salvatore brothers have come closer than ever to repairing their relationship, and Damon's heartfelt confession to Stefan by the episode's end proves that maybe they can finally be brothers again.

In 1912, their roles have been reversed. It's Stefan who reaches out to his brother and tries to convince him that he's changed. Fast forward 100 years, and it's Damon who invites an obviously thirsty Stefan on a hunt to find the killer.

911 calls detail neighbors' terror during shooting of Florida teen

Terrified neighbors implored dispatchers to send police as a voice in the background screamed for help in 911 recordings released after the shooting of an unarmed Florida teen.

Trayvon Martin, 17, was returning from the store to the Sanford home of his father's fiancee when he has shot last month.

Authorities released seven 911 calls Friday, all of which describe hearing a gunshot.

The teen's parents broke down when they heard the recordings detailing the last moments of his life, said their attorney, Benjamin Crump.

"They are completely devastated, and they are in unbelievable grief," Crump told CNN affiliate WKMG.

Martin was carrying a drink and candy when George Zimmerman, a neighborhood watch captain, called 911 to report a suspicious man, authorities said.

The 911 dispatcher told Zimmerman not to confront him. But by the time police arrived, Martin lay dead with a gunshot wound in the chest, according to Sanford Police Chief Bill Lee.

911 tapes released Friday detail moments of terror in the neighborhood as residents made a flurry of calls describing a gunshot and a teen wailing for help.

In some of the recordings, a voice screams "Help, help!" in the background.

"There were gunshots right outside my house. There's someone screaming, I just heard a guy shot," a neighbor says. "Hurry up, they are right outside my house."

Recordings mirrored the same details: A man outside was crying for help, followed by the sound of a gunshot.

"Hurry please ... there's someone screaming outside," a neighbor whispers. "There's a gunshot, hurry up ... there's someone screaming. I just heard a gunshot."

In another call, a woman begs the dispatchers to send help, saying someone is "screaming and hollering" for help.

Rare Marilyn Monroe photos hit auction block

A collection of never-before-seen photos of Marilyn Monroe — and their accompanying copyrights — are going up for auction.

Celebrity auctioneer Darren Julien says more than 100 images of Monroe will be sold the highest bidders later this month.

The photos come from the estate of Allan "Whitey" Snyder, Monroe's personal makeup artist for 15 years. One image shows Snyder applying makeup to a lingerie-wearing Monroe on the set of "Let's Make Love" in 1960.

Letters, telegrams and a money clip from Monroe to Snyder are also among the lots set to be sold during Julien's Auctions' Hollywood Legends sale on March 31 and April 1. The auction also includes memorabilia from Frank Sinatra, James Dean, Charlie Chaplin and Sammy Davis, Jr.

    Vladimir Putin's Tiger Encounter Questioned

Questions are emerging over Vladimir Putin's famous encounter with a tigress three years ago.

Environmentalist Dmitry Molodtsov says the animal that Putin shot with a tranquilizer gun and tagged with a GPS collar in 2008 is different from the one later photographed in the wild by a government-financed institute.

Molodtsov said Friday photos posted on the website of the Amur tiger conservation project show different coat patterns of the animal that Putin tagged and the tigress photographed later in the wild.

A coordinator at the Amur tiger conservation project dismissed his claim as untrue.

Molodtsov also alleged that the tigress Putin shot with a tranquilizer was taken out of a local zoo, and did not live in the wild. He cited photographs of the zoo animal as proof.

Hans Sachs Art Collection Seized By Nazis Must Be Returned, Court Orders

A Berlin museum must return thousands of rare posters to an American man, part of his Jewish father's unique collection that had been seized by the Nazis, Germany's top federal appeals court ruled Friday.

The Federal Court of Justice in Karlsruhe confirmed Peter Sachs, 74, was the rightful owner of the posters collected by his father Hans and ruled he is entitled to receive them back from the German Historical Museum.

The ruling ended seven years of legal battles over a vast collection dating back to the late 19th century that is now believed to be worth between euro4.5 million and euro16 million ($6 million and $21 million).

The court said if the museum kept the posters it would be akin to perpetuating the crimes of the Nazis.

"I can't describe what this means to me on a personal level," Peter Sachs, who recently moved to Nevada from Sarasota, Florida, told The Associated Press in an email. "It feels like vindication for my father, a final recognition of the life he lost and never got back."

The case ended up with the Karlsruhe court because of the posters' unique and tumultuous journey through more than 70 years of German history. The posters were collected by Sachs, stolen from him by the Nazis' Gestapo, became the possession of communist East Germany for decades, and then moved to the Berlin museum after Germany's reunification in 1990.

The court acknowledged that Peter Sachs did not file for restitution of the posters by the official deadline for such claims, and that the postwar restitution regulations instituted by the Western Allies could not be specifically applied in his case. But the judges ruled that the spirit of the laws was clearly on Sachs' side.

Not to return the posters "would perpetuate Nazi injustice," the judges wrote. "This cannot be reconciled with the purpose of the Allied restitution provisions, which were to protect the rights of the victims."

Hagen Philipp Wolf, a spokesman for Germany's cultural affairs office which oversees the public German Historical Museum, said the decision would be respected.

"The Federal Court of Justice has decided, we have a clear ruling, the German Historical Museum must return the Sachs posters," he said.

A total of 4,259 posters have been identified so far as having belonged to Sachs' father. They were among a collection of 12,500 that his father owned, which include advertisements for exhibitions, cabarets, movies and consumer products, as well as political propaganda – all rare, with only small original print runs. It is not clear what happened to the remainder.

The German Historical Museum rarely had more than a handful of the posters on display at any given time, though it had said the collection was an invaluable resource for researchers.

Taxi Driver Saksi Ketsikaew Returns Gold Worth $450,000

A Thai taxi driver has returned gold worth $450,000 to a customer who left the jewelry behind three days earlier.

Police Col. Naradet Tiprak said driver Saksi Ketsikaew turned in 8.2 kilograms (289 ounces) of jewelry in cardboard boxes Friday.

He said gold seller Ekarat Kanokwannakorn bought the gold Tuesday in Bangkok but forgot it in the taxi while he was helping his sick wife.

Naradet said police were skeptical about the delay but that Ekarat was happy to get back the gold and didn't seek to press charges. The loss had been widely publicized.

Ekarat rewarded the driver with two necklaces together worth about $10,000.

Homs Killings: Family Found Slaughtered In Horrifying

The men in the video move from room to room, stumbling upon bodies heaped in a corner, blood-spattered walls, and a dead child's faces wrenched in terror. As the camera pans over a pile of bodies, a tiny squeal is heard. A small child suddenly crawls over a body toward the filmmaker. According to CNN, he must have been hiding among his deceased family for days.

Although it is nearly impossible to independently verify the information posted online by activists in Syria due to the regime's restrictions on media access, CNN is "confident of the video's provenance." The footage is reportedly from early February in Al-Sabeel, a neighborhood in Homs, Syria.

As activists and citizen journalists continue to disseminate information from Syria to the outside world, horrifying footage has flooded the international media. On Tuesday, a video purporting to show a boy shot in the back by sniper fire was posted on YouTube. Earlier this week, at least 45 women and children were stabbed and burned in Karm al-Zeitoun, Homs, according to a grassroots opposition network.

    How Are Celebrity Cellphones Hacked?

Celebrities are a perfect target for hackers -- they're highly visible, spend lots of time on their smartphones and they know next to nothing about security. It's no wonder they're often victimized by hackers -- from lone hackerazzis like the alleged Christopher Chaney to hacker groups like the Anonymous offshoot 'Hollywood Leaks.'

But how do these hackers actually hack a cell phone?

Many people seem to think it requires a great deal of computer skill to hack a phone; that you have to be some type of hacker mastermind. But the reality is, it's not that hard.

    Here are a few ways:

    # 1 -- Physical Access to the Phone -- Obviously, if a person can get physical access to a cell phone, even for a few seconds, it's game over. The person can clone it, place a remote spying tool on the phone or download the pictures and information directly to their own account.

TIPS -- Make sure your phone has a strong password lock to prevent unauthorized access. Sign up for a mobile phone recovery service -- like Where's My Droid, Find My iPhone, McAfee's WaveSecure, etc. -- that offers GPS tracking, remote freeze and remote wiping in case the phone is ever lost or stolen.

#2 -- Hacking Email, Twitter and Apps -- Most celebrities are hacked through email, Twitter and other accounts that they use on their phones. This is what happened to Scarlett Johanson, Kreayshawn, Mila Kunis and Christina Aguillera, among others -- and it may also be the reason for the more recent hacks on Heather Morris and Christina Hendricks.

Hackers get in by guessing a weak password or bypassing the password altogether by answering a series of cognitive security questions such as mother's maiden name or what high school they attended. This technique is what is alleged to have been used by Chris Chaney and Hollywood Leaks.

To beat a password, hackers can use special password cracking programs that attempt to "dictionary attack" or "brute force" the account, or they can simply do their homework on the celebrity and use that to guess the passphrase or security questions. Once the hacker gets in to one account, especially email, he can use it to get into other accounts (for example, request the Twitter password reminder be sent to Gmail or other web-based email account).

Woman Drinks, Bathes in Own Urine on “My Strange Addiction” Finale

TLC’s “My Strange Addiction” will spotlight on its season finale Sunday a woman who drinks, bathes, brushes her teeth and washes her eyes in her own urine.

Carrie, 53, believes that her urine obsession will help in her cancer fight, according to MSNBC.

"I like warm pee. It's comforting," she says in TLC's sneak peek of the episode that's heavy on close-ups of her drinking her favorite beverage.

Carrie says she has become a connoisseur of sorts since she first gulped her own urine four years ago and didn’t vomit.

"Sometimes it's salty, sometimes tastes like plum champagne," she says before taking another drink of the stuff. “Mmm, maybe a little lemony.”

Carrie says that she no longer eats asparagus because it doesn’t taste good “recycled.”

The clip shows her daughter Cassie saying that she fears the obsession isn’t good for Carrie's health. The family’s story airs in full Sunday at 10 p.m.

Other obsessions from Season 3 have included a man who claimed to be in an intimate relationship with his 1998 Chevy Monte Carlo, a woman addicted to snorting baby powder, a nail polish drinker, an adhesive tape eater, and a woman obsessed with having super-sized breasts.

    Invisible Children Co-Founder Detained

A co-founder for Invisible Children was detained in Pacific Beach on Thursday for being drunk in public and masturbating, according to the San Diego Police Department.

Jason Russell, 33, was allegedly found masturbating in public, vandalizing cars and possibly under the influence of something, according to the SDPD. He was detained at the intersection of Ingraham Street and Riviera Road.

An SDPD spokesperson said the man detained was acting very strange, some may say bizarre. Video: SDPD statement

"Due to the nature of the detention, he was not arrested," Lt. Andra Brown said. "During the evaluation we learned we probably needed to take him to a medical facility because of statements he was saying."

Police said they received several calls Thursday at 11:30 a.m. of a man in various stages of undress, running through traffic and screaming.
Police described Russell as "in his underwear." He allegedly took off his underwear at one point, but it was back on by the time officers arrived, said police.

Several people attempted to calm him down and when officers arrived police said he was cooperative.

"He was no problem for the police department however, during the evaluation we learned that we probably needed to take care of him," said an SDPD spokesperson. "We determined that medical treatment was a better course of action than arrest."

Russell was taken to a medical center after the incident.

The World's Best Gourmet Pizza: 'Tropical Pie' Wins Highest Honor

To make the world's best pizza you'll need dough, mozzarella cheese and some top shelf tequila.

On Thursday, top pizza-makers from around the globe competed for the title of "World's Best Pizza" at the International Pizza Expo in Las Vegas. At stake was $10,000 and the highest honor in the industry.

Photos: more from the International Pizza Expo

This year's big winner was anything but traditional. The "Tropical Pie" - a blend melted asiago and mozzarella cheese, topped with shrimps, thinly sliced and twisted limes, a fresh mango salsa, all resting on a rich pineapple cream sauce infused with Patron.

The recipe, devised by mad pizza scientist Andrew Scudera of Goodfella's Brick Oven Pizza in Staten Island, was months in the making.

"I came up with idea to use tequila, but it was a collaboration," Andrew tells Shine. "Everyone here at the restaurant dived in and gave their input, helping to perfect the recipe by the time we brought it to the show."

The competition in Vegas was steep-particularly in the "gourmet" category, where the Tropical Pie was entered. Unlike the "traditional" competition where standard two topping pies are tossed around, "gourmet" competitors go rogue. The only rule is that there are no rules.

"A lot of different types cuisines compete in the gourmet challenge," says Andrew. "It's a culinary phenomenon." His fiercest competitor: a Japanese chef who made a rice crust topped with sushi-grade raw fish.
Andrew and his Goodfella's team celebrate their win at the Pizza Expo. Andrew and his Goodfella's team celebrate their win at the Pizza Expo.
For Andrew, it's been a long road to Vegas. At 16, Andrew got his first job pushing pies at Goodfella's. Now, 18 years later he's a full-fledged partner in the restaurant. As chef and engineer of the Expo challenge, Andrew wasn't just competing for the cash, he was protecting the honor of his second home.

"We've won the title twice, but this is the first one I've been responsible for," he says. "I've been trying to win it for the past 10 years."

Jennifer Lawrence, 'Hunger Games' Star, On 'Twilight' Comparisons, Fame, And Her 'Karate Hands'

Jennifer Lawrence landed on the A-list earlier than most. Oscar-nominated for "Winter's Bone" at just 20 years old, the Kentucky-born actress won the role of Katniss Everdeen in "The Hunger Games," meaning her meteoric rise should only increase, provided the film cashes in as expected the box office. It's certainly an exciting time for J.Law, though -- at the moment -- she's a little concerned with her awkward "karate hands," which only come out when she runs. "I'm a weird runner," Lawrence told Moviefone when asked about her training for the future blockbuster. "So, that was unfortunate."

In "The Hunger Games," Lawrence is forced to do a lot of running: she plays Katniss Everdeen, the District 12 tribute sent to compete in the annual Hunger Games, a barbaric event where the citizens of Panem, the post-apocalyptic name given to what's left of North America, watch their children kill one another for sport. For fanatics of Suzanne Collins's best-selling book series, the actress is Katniss incarnate (this despite her naturally blonde hair, which was dyed for the film). Lawrence, however, wasn't so sure -- she almost turned down the role of her lifetime, before her mother convinced her otherwise.

Moviefone chatted Lawrence about what "The Hunger Games" means to her, what moment she can't wait to replicate onscreen, and what she thinks about the "Twilight" movies.

When you read the books, did you imagine yourself playing Katniss?
No [laughs]. When I read them, it was before there was any talk of the movie or anything, so I definitely didn't picture myself. That would be slightly narcissistic, anyway. By the time there were talks of the movie, I was so turned off by the idea -- because we've watched so many people destroy our favorite books [by turning them into movies]. There was interest in me for it, so I had a meeting with Gary Ross, and just loved everything he was saying. I knew the movie was being made by people who are fans of the book and wanted to stay true to its story, and understood that it's a sad story, not a cool action flick. There was hesitation, of course, over the size of it and what my life would be like if I were to say yes, but I slowly came around to the idea. I'm happy I did [laughs].

How did you overcome that hesitation about signing on. A lot of actors seem to bristle at the idea of leading these big franchises.
It was funny because I've always been asked why did I always do indies, why didn't I do a big studio film. I always said, "Because it's not about the size of the movie, it's about the script." When I was almost going to turn this down because it was too big, my mom told me I was being a hypocrite, because I loved the story, loved the characters and I truly believe in the message that these films are bringing. I really don't feel like I'm being tied down to it -- especially after filming the first one, where I had the time of my life. I actually can't wait to go back. It's a character I would love to revisit. I think if you sign on to the right franchise [you're OK]. I don't feel like a slave to anyone. I feel like I'm very passionate about this story and what it means about our world and about humanity. It's something I want to talk about, I want people to see, and I'm proud to put my name to it.

OK, well: What does "The Hunger Games" say about humanity?
I took away that, over time, we're just becoming so desensitized to death. Humanity is becoming dulled to itself. We can watch people die on TV; we can watch a snowboarder fall off a mountain and die. We watch it as entertainment. The world is obsessed with reality television, and in a world where history repeats itself, it's plausible, really, that our world could get there.

Battered and burned Baby Falak gave up her two month battle for life.

Falak, the two-year-old battered baby girl, who had to undergo five painful surgeries, faced two heart attacks and fought against all odds for nearly two-months, finally lost the battle for life and passed away after she suffered a cardiac arrest on Thursday night.

Intense efforts by the doctors of AIIMS Trauma Centre and millions of prayers could not save the two-year old minor whose harrowing ordeal had left the nation stunned.

Amid prayers for her soul to rest in peace, the overwhelming view of those who prayed for her, cared for her, being that the death has only done good to the poor girl as she could not have led a normal life due to the damage done to her brain had she survived.

She has also left millions rattled about the level of cruelty a person can subject a fellow human to. Falak was also a stark reminder of the growing lack of empathy in our society and its implications for the coming generations.

A post-mortem will be conducted on Baby Falak - since it is a medico-legal case - today.

The tragic case of baby Falak, who was admitted to the AIIMS on January 18 with severe head injuries, broken arms, bite marks all over her body and cheeks branded with hot iron, left the country in utter shock and forced all to think about the growing insensitivity in our society.

For Deepak Agrawal, Assistant Professor of Neurosurgery at the AIIMS Trauma Centre, who has been attending on her from the day one, the "unexpected" heart attack has come as a huge shock.

"It was unexpected. She was fit to be discharged. All of a sudden, she had a cardiac arrest at nine and we tried to revive her. But then she gave up at around 9:40pm," said an emotionally charged Deepak Agrawal.

During her treatment earlier, she contracted meningitis and underwent five surgeries and had also suffered two heart attacks. "She was doing well. We removed her from the ICU and shifted her to the ward after we found that she had recovered well. The whole day she used to spend time playing with the nurses at the hospital,” he added.

The child was brought to the hospital by a girl, who had falsely claimed to be her mother. Investigations revealed the shocking story of Falak, her two siblings and their mother who were all separated after falling victim to human traffickers.

Falak's mother Munni was tricked into a second marriage by three women out of whom two -- Laxmi and Kanta Choudhry --were arrested. The trio had promised that her three children will be taken care of but they were left to different people.

Ten people were arrested in the case. Police traced Falak's five-year-old brother from the house of a vendor in West Delhi's Uttam Nagar locality while her sister Sanobar was traced by Delhi Police to Muzaffarpur in Bihar.
