Canada Lesbian Couple's Engagement During Toronto Maple Leafs-Ottawa Senators Hockey Game

In what is likely the most heartwarming video you'll see all day, a Canada-based lesbian couple took to the ice of a hockey game during intermission for a crowd-thrilling marriage proposal.

As Yahoo Sports is reporting, a Toronto Maple Leafs fan named Alicia was escorted onto the ice wearing a blindfold. When the blindfold was removed, she looked up at the video scoreboard and read a message from her girlfriend, an Ottawa Senators fan named Christina.

The pair embraced before Christina got down on one knee and slid the engagement ring onto Alicia's hand. After the couple shared a kiss, the Senators mascot raised a sign that declared: "SHE SAID YES."

After the glitz of Hollywood Kate flies back to 'just enjoying being a newly-wed'

The Duchess of Cambridge has signalled that she will be taking a step back from public life, despite her hugely successful first foreign tour.

She has told royal aides that following the 11-day trip to Canada and the U.S. – her inaugural trip as a member of the Royal Family – she intends to spend the rest of the summer ‘just enjoying being a newly-wed’.

Kate and William arrived at Heathrow yesterday after flying from Los Angeles on a British Airways scheduled flight. They had received a rapturous reception in Canada and California, with Kate’s regal glamour stealing the show at a party for Hollywood A-listers on Saturday.

They will travel to Scotland with the rest of the Royal Family for the Queen’s annual holiday at Balmoral.

After a long summer break Kate and William will undertake a handful of engagements in the run up to Christmas – just one or two a month.

A source said: ‘The past few months have been a whirlwind and she just wants to take a step back and spend some time with her new husband.
‘She has even joked that people will probably be glad to see the back of her given the number of photographs that have been taken over the past couple of weeks.’
A St James’s Palace spokesman yesterday confirmed the couple’s plans and stressed that William, too, was keen for a break from public duties.
‘The Duke is going for his flying captaincy which he hopes to get in early 2012. He needs to keep up his flying hours and there are some exams to get through, a lot of work needs to done and he has to dedicate himself to that,’ they said.

Could Lady Gaga be running out of ideas for her stage shows?

Could Lady Gaga be running out of ideas for her stage shows?
The pop superstar emerged from a cocoon during her performance at the MuchMusic Video Awards in Toronto, Canada this weekend, a stunt she has pulled twice already.
Gaga, 25, was at the event to perform some of her recent hits, including Edge Of Glory, and to pick up two awards.

She entered the stage via the egg-like cocoon, just as she did at the Grammy Awards in February this year - she also popped out of a chamber during a performance on Saturday Night Live late last month.
This time however the contraption was suspended above the ground, whereas the previous two crysalis-esque devices were laid down horizontally on the ground.
For the duration of her appearance on the Canadian awards show, Gaga remained relatively covered up in comparison to her usual outrageous get up.

Paunch: Lady Gaga revealed a slightly fuller figure as she arrived the the MuchMusic Video Awards in Canada tonight in a tight LBD teamed with dominatrix-style boots

By Lady Gaga standards, her ensembles were positively demure.
In fact the Queen of shocktastic fashion and barely-there outfits turned out to the ceremony with much more material per square inch than usual.
Despite changing into an array of outfits, the 25-year-old singer kept relatively covered up - which was perhaps something to do with the slightly fuller figure she was seen to be sporting as she arrived.

The Edge of Glory star, who won two awards at the event, turned up at the ceremony in Toronto, Canada, in a form-fitting little black dress which showed a more curvy shape around her midsection.
Last year Gaga's former tour manager, David Ciemny, claimed that the star would starve herself to fit into her revealing stage outfits.
He alleged the singer would go on unhealthy food binges before barely eating in a bid to slim down - saying she once lost 20lbs between fittings.

Earlier this month, Gaga left very little to the imagination as she partied at the CFDA Fashion Awards in a see-through black body stocking in New York.
But tonight was a relatively low-key affair for Gaga, who remained relatively covered in her series of outfits.
