Anna and Chris met in Chicago in 2007—they were teammates on a co-ed softball team and the couple became engaged in the fall of 2009. "Chris slipped a ring on my finger while I was sleeping," says Anna. "When I woke up, he was on one knee, asking me to check my finger." For their wedding day, she chose a silk organza gown with a sequined bow by Cymbeline, purchased at the salon in New York City. "It was the first dress that felt like 'me,'" Anna says. She made her hair accessory using netting and a vintage pin. Following the ceremony, cocktail hour was held in the nineteenth-century fieldstone barn. To wrap up this week, we decided to sift through the news and share what we are excited for, what we are sad about and what we just don't understand. Here is this week's The Good, The Bad and The Ugly:

The Good: Karl Lagerfeld made headlines when he announced he was doing a second fast fashion collaboration (his first was with H&M in 2004). We were pleasantly surprised by his upcoming fall collection for Macy's: cheap, chic and it even has Cathy Horyn's stamp of approval. We're sold.

The Bad: The Alexander McQueen exhibit, "Savage Beauty" at The Metropolitan Museum of Art was extended until August 7th. Haven't seen it already? Don't bother. The line is so long anyone who enters the museum has to wait an hour even if they aren't seeing the exhibit. Too bad.

The Ugly: Kate Bosworth always looks chic. We love her Isabel Marant booties. What we are not loving? Her new dip dyed do. Or should I say "don't." So ugly.

Natural time capsule containing an alien ecosystem
This five-story, blood-red waterfall pours very slowly out of the Taylor Glacier in Antarctica's McMurdo Dry Valleys. When geologists first discovered the frozen waterfall in 1911, they thought the red color came from algae, but its true nature turned out to be much more spectacular.

Roughly two million years ago, the Taylor Glacier sealed beneath it a small body of water which contained an ancient community of microbes. Trapped below a thick layer of ice, they have remained there ever since, isolated inside a natural time capsule. Evolving independently of the rest of the living world, these microbes exist in a place with no light or free oxygen and little heat, and are essentially the definition of 'primordial ooze.' The trapped lake has very high salinity and is rich in iron, which gives the waterfall its red color. A fissure in the glacier allows the subglacial lake to flow out, forming the falls without contaminating the ecosystem within.

The existence of the Blood Falls ecosystem shows that life can exist in the most extreme conditions on Earth. Though tempting to make the connection, it does not prove, however, that life could exist on other planets with similar environments and similar bodies of frozen water—notably Mars and Jupiter's moon Europa—as such life would have to arise from a completely different chain of events.

Even if it doesn't confirm the existence of extraterrestrial life, Antarctica's Blood Falls is a wonder to behold both visually and scientifically.

Found in the official website, here is the first image of Anne Hathaway as Selina Kyle, the alter-ego of the famous Catwoman. Hathaway, to say the least, looks much different than past Catwoman actresses, with the glasses, lack of any ears or mask and gigantic powerwheels motorbike setting her apart from Michelle Pfeiffer and Halle Berry.
This is the latest release from the film, though the previous ones weren't exactly approved; paparazzi shots got clear images of the new Batmobile, as well as some epic fight scenes between the Dark Knight and Bane.

भट्ठी से तप रहा शहर दोपहर को अचानक मीठी सी ठंडी लहर से झूमने लगा था।ऐसा लगा कि भगवान ने आसमान मे अपना एसी चालू कर दिया है।तभी दोपहर की चमकदार धूप पता नही क्यों शर्मा कर देहात की नई-नवेली दुल्हन की तरह अपने आप मे सिकुड़ने लगी और जनरल बोगी मे चिरौरी कर सीट के कोने मे बैठे बादल ने पसरना शुरू किया।थोड़ी ही देर मे आसमान पर उसका कब्जा था और मैं टाटा के शोरूम मे बैठा गाड़ी की ज़ल्दी डिलेवरी की दुआ करने लगा।मुझे आई(मां) के हाथ के बने प्याज के गर्मागर्म पकौड़े की याद सताने लगी थी।बरसात मे भीगने के बाद गरम पकौड़े खाने का मज़ा ही कुछ और होता है।

थोड़ी ही देर मे गाड़ी के मिलते ही लगा कि मौसम के साथ-साथ भगवान भी मेहरबान है।गाड़ी मे बैठ कर बाहर निकलते-निकलते बारिश की बूंदो ने गाड़ी की छत को म्यूज़िकल इंस्ट्रूमेंट बना कर नया तराना छेड़ दिया था।उस अलौकिक संगीत मे डूबा हुआ मै कब घर पहुंचा पता ही नही लगा।गाड़ी से उतर कर सीधे अंदर भागा।आई ने पूछा आज इस समय्।मैने कहा कुछ नही थोड़ी देर मे भजिये बना कर खिलाओगी क्या?उन्होने कहा अभी बना देती हूं।मैने कहा नही अभी मे छत पर जा रहा हूं।बड़ा हो गया है बच्चा नही है तू…… मैने उनकी बात सुनने की बजाय छत की ओर भागना ज्यादा मुनासिब समझा।आई की आवाज़ मेरा पीछा करते हुये आई और कान मे फ़ुसफ़ुसा के कहा कि पता नही कब सुधरेगा।

तब-तक़ बारिश की बूंदों ने भी धीरे-धीरे मतदान की तरह रफ़्तार पकड़ ली थी।अब उनका संगीत किसी विदेशी संगीत की तरह न समझ मे आने वाला होकर भी कानो मे मिश्री घोल रहा था।बूंदो के बोल समझ मे नही आ रहे थे मगर वे पैरो को थिरकने पर मज़बूर कर रहे थे।सर से लेकर पैर तक़ बारिश की बूंदों के रंग मे रंगने के बाद होश ही नही रहा कि समय कैसे बादलो की तरह उडता चला जा रहा है।बूंदे भी लगता है कि थक़ गई थी और उसकी रफ़्तार दम तोड़ने लगी थी।रह-रह कर गरजने और चमक्ने वाली बिज़ली भी खामोश होकर कही छुप कर बैठ गई थी।

नीचे से आई की आवाज़ ने बारिश के संगीत का जादू तोड़ा।अरे भजिये लाऊं क्या?मै आ रहा हूं आई, कह कर मै नीचे उतरा।कपड़े बदले और गर्मा गरम भजिये की प्लेट और टमाटर और हरी मिर्च-धनिये की चटनी लेकर उपर आया।बालकनी मे बैठ कर फ़िर से ज़ोर मारती बारिश की बूंदो की छमाछम सुनते हुये भजिये का स्वाद लेने लगा।वाह क्या बात है?दुनिया मे इससे अच्छा भजिया और कोई बना ही नही सकता होगा,ऐसा मैने सोचा और अलौकिक संगीत के साथ स्वाद के समंदर मे गोते खाने लगा।

अचानक़ बिजली रानी ने फ़िर से अपनी ताक़त दिखाना शुरू कर दिया और थोड़ी ही देर मे वो छतीसगढ के उत्पाती हाथियो की तरह आऊट आफ़ कंट्रोल होने लगी।उसकी उद्दंडता को देख बरखा रानी भला कंहा चुप रहने वाली थी।उसने भी अनुशासनहीनता मे कोई कमी नही की और अब गुलज़ार के गीतों सी मधुर बरखा रानी रामसे ब्रदर्स की फ़िल्म सी लगने लगी।रह-रह कर कड़कड़ाकर चमकने वाली बिजली ऐसा लग रहा था टार्च जलाकर देख रही हो कि है कोई जो उसका मुक़ाबला करने बाहर निकले।

अरे अंदर आ जा,नीचे से आई की आवाज़ ने ध्यान बंटाया।मैने कहा आ रहा हूं।इतने मे फ़िर बिजली चमकी और ऐसा लगा कि सामने थोड़ी दूर कंही गिरी है।अरे उस तरफ़ तो झोपड़पट्टी है।ओफ़ बुरा हाल होगा वंहा तो।अभी तो शुरूआत है। बारिश जब जवान होगी तब तो और कहर बरपायेगी।अचानक़ मै कई साल पीछे चला गया।याद आ गया मुझे बारिश के मौसम का हाल बयान करना।तालाबों का ओव्हर-फ़्लो होना,नालियो-नालो का फ़ूट जानां। निचली बस्तियों मे पानी भर जाना।रात-रात भर जाग कर गुज़ारना। दूसरे अख़बार मे छपी, नवजात शिशु को छाती से लिपटाये मां की तस्वीर देख कर संपादक का बड़बड़ाना। और, थोड़ा और,थोड़ा और ह्यूमन स्टोरी लिखने के लिये कहना।रात भर टपकती छतों के पानी को गिनती के बरतनों मे जमा करके ऊलीचना। भूख से बिलखते बच्चो को, परेशान होकर चुप कराने की बजाये पीटना।झडी यानी लगातार होने वाली बारिश मे दूसरे और तीसरे दिन भी चुल्हा नही जला सकने की हताशा।रोज कमा कर खाने वालो के चेहरो पर गहराती निराशा।

ओफ़ मै ये क्या सोचने लगा। मैने सिर को ज़ोरदार झटका दिया और उन खयालो को बाहर निकाल फ़ेकने की भरपूर कोशिश की।पर वो खयाल तो न चाहते हुये भी युपीए की सरकार की तरह रिपीट होने लगे।भूख से बिलखते बच्चे।गीले कपडो मे तरबतर घरों मे भरे पानी को बाहर फ़ेंकते लोग्।बिमारियो का संक्रमण रोकने के लिये मुंह पर मास्क पहने दवा बांटती मेडिकल टीम्।फ़ोटोग्राफ़र और विडीयोग्राफ़रो की टीम के साथ प्रभावित ईलाको का दौरा करते जन?प्रतिनिधि। अख़बारो मे गरीबी को छापने की होड़।मै परेशान हो गया ये क्या हो गया है मुझे।मै तो सारे काम-धाम ड्राप करके मौसम का मज़ा लेने घर आया था।तभी नीचे से आई ने आवाज़ दी, भजिया और दूं क्या बेटा?नही आई,पता नही, ये नही, मेरे मुंह से कैसे निकला।मुझे याद आया। एक ऐसी ही तूफ़ानी बारिश की अपनी रिपोर्ट का शीर्षक्।'ये किसने दुआ की थी बारिशों की'।मैने कुर्सी से उठते हुये प्लेट मे बचे भजिये के आखिरी टुकड़े को मुंह मे ड़ाला।पता नही क्यों आज आई के हाथ के भजिये मे वो स्वाद में वो मज़ा नही आया.
