    Movie Review: Cars 2 Kicks Into Overdrive for a Fun-Packed Trip Around the World

    This souped-up sequel kicks it into high gear with new characters, slick animation and a global espionage caper. Though not the winningest Pixar entry ever, Cars 2 should still pull ahead of box-office competitors and thrill young racing fans with high-octane action.

    The Bigger Picture: Trading in the small-town setting and Doc Hollywood formula of the original, Cars 2 pimps out its ride with an international, James Bond-esque makeover. The film's exotic locales allow for some impressive visuals and set pieces, but the convoluted spy storyline might leave little ones in the dust.

    Racecar Lightning McQueen (Owen Wilson) and his tow-truck buddy Mater (Larry the Cable Guy) head overseas when McQueen accepts a challenge to compete in the World Grand Prix. The high-profile face-off involves multiple showdowns on the raceways of Japan, Italy, France and England.

    Their plans take a detour when Mater is mistakenly ensnared in a top-secret mission headed by English spy Finn McMissile (go-to Brit actor Michael Caine) and rookie agent Holley Shiftwell (Emily Mortimer). McQueen and Mater's friendship gets tested during the ensuing carfuffle, and they have to band together to solve a nefarious car-killing conspiracy before the final finish line.

    KIM Kardashian gives the bum's rush to claims she has implants boosting her shapely rear - with an X-ray proving it's all natural.

    The curvy US socialite, 30, visited a doctor this week for a scan to help put the rumours behind her.
    Younger sister Khloe, 26, went with her to the medical centre and posted a picture of the X-ray on her website.
    She wrote: "Hey dolls. The PROOF is in the X-ray. Kim's ass is 100% real!!!"
    She later wrote on Twitter: "Kim got a butt X-Ray... See, it's REAL!!! LOL."
    Kim re-tweeted the message, adding: "Haha! The things my sisters have me do! Proof baby!"
    Footage of their outing will air on Kim's reality TV show Keeping Up With The Kardashians which shows on E!.
    Kim was recently forced to deny she had gone under the knife to boost the size of her derrière.
    Talking to US chat show ABC Nightline, she said: "Those are just rumours, I don't think I'll ever outlive them. For the record, no butt implants. No butt injections, no anything to my butt." Read More..............

    They fear that since the Royal Wedding, when Pippa's rear grabbed worldwide attention, she has become vulnerable to attack.

    A-minus for the new X-Men

    The X-Men series started well in 2000 with two films directed by Bryan Singer, but suffered an ugly mutation with Brett Ratner’s brainless X-Men: The Last Stand (2006) and risked extinction with the boring prequel X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009).
    Matthew Vaughn’s attempt to revive the franchise is the fifth and best of the lot. It bears the same relationship to the four previous films that J.J. Abrams’ 2009 Star Trek did to its predecessors.
    It shows how the X-Men came into being as a group rather than as individual mutants, how they were first wooed by the CIA and then incurred the hatred of the authorities.
    It casts young actors in familiar roles. The only old-stager to survive from the previous films is Hugh Jackman, and his appearance as Wolverine is no more than a cameo.
    One big asset is James McAvoy. He is excellent as the young Professor Charles Xavier (formerly played by Patrick Stewart), the most civilised, reasonable and urbane of the Mutants.
    McAvoy plays him with charm and verve, and his lightness of touch rescues Charles from the priggishness that made Stewart’s performance less sympathetic than it was meant to be.
    First Class takes Charles from his privileged U.S. childhood to university days in Oxford, and then on to his first confrontation — during the Cuban missile crisis — with his initial friend and then long-term enemy Magneto, formerly played by Ian McKellen and here interpreted with commendable forcefulness and athleticism by Michael Fassbender, who makes a good case for himself as the next James Bond.
