  • Apple iOS 7 Features List of new iPhone Operating System

Apple iOS 7 is the new 7th generation operating system to be used with iPhone 5S, iPod Touch 6G, iPad 5, iPad Mini 2 and/or iPhone 6.

An iOS 7 update for iPhone 5 and iPod 5 touch is also expected by Apple, a major player in the software market along-with Microsoft and Google, with huge fan base for its iOS based products. Apple is also popular for its Mac OS X based MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, Mac Pro personal computers.

June 10-14, Apple software and hardware will be under the spotlight internationally, due to Apple Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC 2013) in San Francisco.

Apple is set for iOS7 release, the launch of next version of Apple mobile operating system. Its is too early to say that iOS7 is do or die thing for Apple, but the truth is Apple really needs to bring something real solid to get out of the declining situation.

In this era of robust mobile devices, operating system plays huge role for success of the device. Several unique feature provided by operating system can attract crowd to purchase the device along with design and hardware residing the devices.

Thanks to late CEO Steve Jobs, despite of falling market share, Apple still enjoys a reputation of excellent quality and usability in its products and services.

iOS7 Features List of new iPhone Operating System
Apple has been carefully analyzing the competitive smartphone landscape in order to maintain parity with its Android and Windows Phone competitors in terms of iOS7 features and functions. Here under is the Apple iOS7 features list that is expected from the next version of iOS:

        iOS 7 Design
Probably impressed from Microsoft Windows 8 Metro UI, Apple's Jonathan Ive has worked out a Plain and Simple iOS7 design.

In late May it seemed that iOS 7 had found its way out into flat redesign. It seems that everything starts with a new Lock screen, where the glossy image and clock have been replaced by a stark black screen with supposed improved gesture controls.

Even the security code pad has been altered, and instead of the familiar overlay, a new interface with round, black keys with white text has emerged. Apple iOS7 design might surprise users, by replace the vibrant look and feel with a more minimalist, monochromatic approach.

Customizable Theme, Lock screen and notification Bar
A software's real power lies in the customization. Sometimes there are too many restrictions for iOS users being unable to customize few settings. To overcome this restriction people are tempted to do Jailbreak, which voids warranty from Apple.

Apple should provide little freedom to their users in this version of iOS by enabling them to customize their Theme, Lock Screen as well as Notification Bar.

        Live Widgets
Live Widgets and Icons is a feature that is long needed in iOS and the feature is expected in iOS7. Google Android has long offered home screen widgets, which display all kinds of information. Microsoft has also made its Windows Phone live tiles a key selling point for its smartphone operating system.

Apple can potentially create a completely new channel in its App Store with inexpensive home screen widgets (priced between free and 99 cents). These programs would provide overview information about things like weather, sports scores or news headlines.

These live widgets could function like the stock ticker in Apple's notification shade, but would reside on iOS 7 device's home screen.

Ciara Sued By LA Gay Bar, Served Papers During Pride Performance

After canceling a scheduled appearance at a Los Angeles gay bar this weekend and facing threats of a lawsuit, Ciara was served papers during her performance at LA Pride on Saturday night.

The "Goodies" singer was performing on the catwalk when a woman reached out amid fans to hand her the lawsuit during the middle of a song. Ciara reached out for the papers nonchalantly while continuing to sing and then flung them back. TMZ published a video of the incident on Sunday morning.

The concert interruption came after Ciara bailed on West Hollywood's popular club The Factory. The singer's reps said they informed the club that Ciara couldn't make it, yet the performance was promoted nonetheless. Still, The Factory is suing for breach of contract.

Ciara's people spoke out after news of the lawsuit first emerged on Saturday, saying the singer's appearance at LA Pride the next day contractually prevented her from appearing at The Factory.

"Ciara's commitment to perform at L.A. Gay Pride on Saturday night prevented her from making such a Friday night appearance," a rep for Ciara reportedly told TMZ. "Despite being notified early last week that Ciara could not appear, The Factory continued to market and promote Ciara's appearance. The reason for the continued marketing/promotion is unclear, as it is not known why The Factory would intend to continue to mislead the public, to cause damage to the L.A. Gay Pride festival and to attempt to portray Ciara in a negative light.”

Jessica Simpson Sued Accused of Diabolical Baby Conspiracy

Jessica Simpson was involved in a dastardly conspiracy with OK! Magazine to make a buck by grabbing a man's baby and mugging with the infant for the camera, making it appear as if the child were hers ... this according to a bizarre new lawsuit.

According to lawsuit uncovered by The Times-Picayune in New Orleans, Christopher Hurst took his teenage daughter and infant son to a department store in October 2011 to meet Simpson.

The lawsuit claims ... when Hurst got close to Simpson, a stranger suggested he hand his infant over to Simpson ... who was pregnant at the time.

Hurst obliged, and then, according to the suit, a photog came out of nowhere and began snapping pics.

According to the suit, Hurst was stunned months later when OK! splashed the pic on its cover, making it appear it was Jessica's baby. The irony -- Jessica's baby wasn't even born yet.

The lawsuit accuses Jessica of being in on the plot, claiming she had a deal with a competing mag to sell the first baby pic for $800k, but then got greedy and hatched a plot with OK! to double dip with a baby that wasn't even hers.

Hurst is suing Simpson, OK! magazine, and Getty Images for damages in excess of $75,000.

Arizona police 4-year-old boy fatally shoots his father

A man was fatally wounded when his 4-year-old son fired a gun he found while they were visiting a residence in Prescott, Arizona, officials said.

Justin Stanfield Thomas, 35, and his son made an unannounced trip Friday to the home of an unidentified former roommate, police said. Thomas had previously lived in the residence, according to investigators.

"This appears to be an accident. There was no conflict in the stories of those in the house," said police Sgt. Brandon Bonney. "The resident didn't know his former roommate was stopping by to visit."

Moments after arriving at the home, the boy picked up the small-caliber handgun and asked his father and other adults in the room what it was he was holding, said Bonney.

Seconds later he pulled the trigger.

Officers and emergency crews arrived and found Thomas, of Phoenix, with a single gunshot wound to the chest. He was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Acknowledging it appears to have been a tragic accident, Bonney cautioned gun owners

"We want to remind people without making a villain of this person, that if a child is visiting your home, the first thing to do would be put the firearm away."

Valerie Dodds, AKA 'Val Midwest,' Took Nude Photos To Get Back At Nebraska Catholic School

This isn't your typical revenge porn.

While her former classmates at Lincoln, Neb., Catholic high school Pius X contemplated going off to college, Valerie Dodds decided to stay local and start her own business: a personal adult website under her modeling name, Val Midwest.

As news of her venture spread, drama followed.

"All of the Pius kids were saying mean things and that's when I decided to go there and show them that I'm here to stay,” Dodds told ABC affiliate KETV.

The 19-year-old took a series of nude photos on the campus of her former high school over Mother's Day weekend, and recently received a ticket for trespassing and public nudity, according to the Lincoln Journal Star.

In response, Dodds visited the campus with a camera again. This time, she had her picture taken by daylight, with pasties and panties on. A police spokesman told the Journal Star that unlike her clandestine Mother's Day shoot, Dodd's recent stunt didn't break the law. However, Dodds said she won't stop there.

"I kind of want to go down to the courthouse and do a set right up front in pasties and panties. That sounds fun to me," Dodds told KETV.

According to a City of Lincoln government website outlining offenses against public decency, "It is the intent of the City to prohibit the exploitation of human nudity for the purpose of advertising, selling, or otherwise promoting the economic interests of any type of business enterprise."

Should Dodds tire of trying Lincoln's patience, it is perfectly legal for all people to go topless in New York City, as numerous advocates have pointed out.

Texas high school silences Valedictorian's microphone during speech on Constitution, report says

A Texas high school silenced its Valedictorian’s microphone during his speech when he diverted from his pre-approved remarks and instead spoke about the Constitution.

Joshua High School graduate Remington Reimer, who was accepted into the Naval Academy, had his microphone silenced during his speech right after he told fellow graduates that school officials apparently threatened him with the move the day before, MyFoxDFW.com reported.

Colin Radford, a fellow graduate told MyFoxDFW.com that Reimer was "talking about getting constitutional rights taken away from him, and then he said "just yesterday they threatened to turn my microphone off," and then his microphone went off."

"Student speakers were told that if their speeches deviated from the prior-reviewed material, the microphone would be turned off, regardless of content," Joshua Independent School District said in a statement.

"When one student's speech deviated from the prior-reviewed speech, the microphone was turned off, pursuant to District policy and procedure," the statement said.

Best Break-Up Letter Ever Ask Kelsi Where Your Stuff Is

What's scarier than a really nasty break-up note? A really nice break-up note. You better watch your back if you get caught cheating and then receive a Dear John letter that opens: "Hey Honey!"

More on Yahoo!: Middle School Love Letter Displayed at Wedding 20 Years Later

On Friday, a Redditor posted a photograph of one such letter, and it's since gone viral, having received more than 1 million page views as of Monday morning.

More on Yahoo:! How to Get Your Finance Together Before a Divorce

So far, no one has been able to prove the veracity of the missive, but it's dripping with realistic-sounding acid under a candy-sweet veneer of hearts and smiley emoticons. And is that red pen supposed to be the color of love or blood?

"Guess who left his Facebook open on the computer and got a message from Kelsi? Yeah! You did!" The writer goes on to say she's made a superfun game out of ditching his belongings—"since I know you like looking for other things, (like other girls!)— and provides clues to where the philanderer might find his stuff. She adds, "Oh, and while I didn't break or damage anything, I can't guarantee anybody else won't find it." It closes, "Happy Hunting!"

While the twisted genius of this revenge note is truly amazing, it's by no means the only incredible break up, letter, for better or worse, to grace the Internet.

A couple of years ago, an email from an OKCupid user, OompaLoompa to Miss Lonelyhearts surfaced that read: "Thanks for an interesting 3 dates. I spent the weekend thinking about you and me and have decided that I'm not interested in pursuing 'us' any longer….I don't think we're a good match, and after looking at us on Cupid again, neither does Cupid…[We're] a 52% on lifestyles questions. And I think the lifestyle issue is the bigger one. I think Cupid's matching system works best if the user answers more questions—so I'd recommend answering more. Cupid was founded by Harvard math majors, so I have confidence in their math algorithm." It goes on and on and on to describe how much more energy and zest for life he has than his date, and he even encourages her to move to another city. The final kiss-off? Closing the letter with an obnoxious "Ciao." Gawker calls the writer a "world class tool." We think Miss Lonelyhearts dodged a bullet and should consider herself lucky.

Another such dirtbaggy email was picked up by the Washington Post and circulated widely. After meeting a guy dancing, a young woman wrote him an email to which he responded, "I don't have time for twenty questions by email. I met five girls Saturday night, have already booked a first coffee with three of them, and meet more every time I go dancing."

A man who was clearly less of a player than the Lothario above, but equally callous, penned this note and included an image of him riding (away, presumably) on a giraffe. "Dear Janet, I think we should break up. I would tell you why but I'm having a tough time describing my feelings, so I drew a picture of me riding a giraffe, instead." Well, that explains everything.

Not to be outdone by the boys, a jilted wife named Emily purchased a billboard to break-up with her cheating husband, and the picture of it went viral. "Hi Steven," it reads, "Do I have your attention now? I know all about her, you dirty, sneaky, immoral, unfaithful, poorly endowed slimeball. Everything's caught on tape….P.S. I paid for this billboard from OUR joint bank account."

Writing a break-up letter (or email, text, or Facebook message) may seem like an easy way out of a relationship, but, given the reach of social media, it may cause far more shame than ending things face-to-face. "No matter how uncomfortable the situation, there are certain decencies that must be observed," admonishes Emily Post . Her top advice for breaking up in a civilized manner is to meet privately, in person. Unless, of course, you want to world to know what a cad he was.

Hair Extensions Hot New Underground Commodity

Two young thieves walked into John's Beauty Supply store in Chicago on Monday morning, pulled out a bottle of pepper spray and a gun, and went straight for the good stuff: remy human hair extensions.

A female burglar pepper-sprayed a worker behind the counter before grabbing about 10 packs of remy hair, which sell for $100 each. A male thief held a gun to another employee and had her take $1,000 from the register and shove more extensions into a garbage bag.

This incident is just the latest in a spate of hair extension heists that have been sweeping Chicago and cities such as Philadelphia and Houston. Remy hair extensions, which cost anywhere from $100 to thousands of dollars per pack, have become highly sought after, and an underground market for the goods has popped up in response.

"They're selling them to hair salons," said Shayna Crosby, who works at John's Beauty Supply. "People even sell them online or out of the trunk of their cars."

Related: Tons of Nutella stolen in food crime spree

The remy hair frenzy is not without merit: They're the highest grade of real, human hair on the market, because the cuticles are kept intact and not stripped. This means they look natural and stay shiny, soft and tangle-free.

But the silky locks, which are often sewn in at salons, come at a high price. The average person uses two packs each time and the hair needs to be replaced every three to six months. This works out to hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars each year.

In the last eight months alone, there have been two similar beauty supply store burglaries in Chicago, according to police officer Jose Estrada.

Meanwhile, last year, robbers made away with a reported $230,000 worth of extensions from the 35th Street Beauty Supply store in Chicago's Bronzeville neighborhood. A year earlier, thieves bypassed Beauty One's register and beelined straight for the remy packs, taking $80,000 of the product.

Yoonjin Han, who works at Beauty One, said she hears these heists happen even more often -- at least once a month.

They aren't just happening in Chicago. Hair extensions robberies have been reported across the country, from Texas to Oklahoma to Florida.

While the thefts are on the rise, there isn't an official count. An FBI spokesman said its crime data aren't broken down by "specific details such as hair extensions."

Related: A $160,000 jewelry heist at the Four Seasons

Once the extensions are taken from stores, experts say thieves have no problem moving them.

"People who have the audacity and the ingenuity to do this will be able to sell them," said Neal Lester, an English professor at Arizona State University who has been lecturing about hair for the last 25 years. "It's no different from selling DVDs, where they are sold out of the back of your trunk."

They're even easier to pilfer, and to get away with, than other products that commonly make their way into underground markets, like iPhones or over-the-counter medication, since the extensions aren't marked with bar codes or serial numbers. Once they're stolen, they're virtually impossible to trace or tie back to a store.

Lester says that the pricey hairpieces have grown ubiquitous in recent years, as documented by movies like comedian Chris Rock's "Good Hair," which shed light on the lengths women go to -- and premiums they cough up -- to keep up their looks.

All-new 2014 Toyota Corolla goes from bland to bold

The Toyota Corolla has long been the antithesis of the enthusiast car. It’s the automotive equivalent of smooth jazz — ubiquitous and innocuous but seldom loved. And like a forgettably syrupy Kenny G ballad album, it’s also enjoyed enviable success over the years; in 1997 it beat out the Volkswagen Beetle to become the best-selling nameplate of all time, and is always near the top of the charts for its segment, selling 290,947 units in 2012 in spite of being near the end of its model cycle.

But reputation and bulletproof reliability alone hasn’t been enough to stave off competition in recent years, and it’s been sparring with the Ford Focus for bragging rights as the best-seller. Since a half-hearted makeover would likely lead to losing more marketshare, Toyota has unveiled a new, eleventh generation Corolla that’s sleeker and dare I say, interesting.

Surprisingly similar to the carbon fiber-trimmed Corolla Furia concept from this year’s Detroit Auto Show, the production version sheds the frumpy profile from the existing car by stretching the wheelbase and overall length by almost four inches. With chiseled lines and sculpted creases on the outside and a sportily svelte cabin within, it’s the best-looking Corolla yet. Nonetheless, the smallish tires tucked into cavernous wheel wells show it’s still an economy car at its core.

And while the fundamentals of the car won’t change much—there’s still a 1.8-liter, 132-horsepower engine, a four-speed automatic (in addition to a six-speed manual and CVT) and a torsion beam rear suspension—Toyota promises a more engaging drive. Steering has been slightly quickened to 3.19 turns lock-to-lock similar to the pre-refresh 2012 Honda Civic, and the electronic power steering unit touts better road feedback and accuracy. The S trim traditionally has little frills and no thrills, and for 2014 it’ll see a stiffened suspension setup as well as a 140-horsepower engine.

So the “sporty” grade won’t take on a Volkswagen GLI at a stoplight, but efficiency, not speed, has always been one of the key selling points of the Corolla, and Toyota is targeting 42 highway mpg for the LE Eco trim. The compact will also see more standard features across the line-up, including Bluetooth connectivity, LED-adorned headlights and eight airbags.

Pamela Anderson's sexist TV ad banned

A TV advertisement starring former 'Baywatch' star Pamela Anderson has been banned for being sexist and degrading to women.

The commercial, for web hosting firm Dreamscape Networks, had the actress chairing a meeting of men. One of the men then fantasied about Anderson and her assistant dancing together in bikinis, reported Daily Mirror.

Dreamscape argued the ad portrayed Anderson and her assistant as "attractive, dynamic and confident business people."

The Advertising Standards Authority said it understood that the ad was intended to be a humorous and light-hearted parody of a mundane business meeting.

But it said the female characters were portrayed sexually throughout the ad, not just during the fantasy sequence, noting that their shirts were open to expose.

"Because of that, we considered the ad was likely to cause serious offence to some viewers on the basis that it was sexist and degrading to women," the ASA said.

My first failure in Bollywood affected me Neha Sharma

After making a successful debut in southern cinema with "Chirutha", Neha Sharma was disappointed when her Bollywood debut "Crook" bombed at the box office. She says she was in denial after that.

"Honestly, my first (southern) film was a huge hit, so I didn't expect my first film here (in Bollywood) to fail. I had seen that high in life and didn't know that this was a possibility too. When it didn't do well, I was in denial and disappointed. I was obviously living in a cocoon," Neha told IANS in an interview.
Neha Sharma with Emraan Hashmi in a still from her Bollywood debut film 'Crook'

"I want to do good work. The first failure affected me. That is why I did 'Kyaa Super Kool Hain Hum'," said the actress and added that she wouldn't have done the adult comedy had her first film worked.

"It's something that I would not have done as it is like going out of my comfort zone. But I was like if this is what works, then why not do this," she explained.

It is important for newcomers, who don't have film background, to have box office success. "You have to have box office success then only people will show interest in you. This is something, which surprises me. I don't think it is about talent or looks, it is primarily about box office success," she said.

But she doesn't take success or failure seriously any more.

"I have done four films and I understand it is not something that you can control. It is part of the business. No actor can just have failures and no actor can just have successes," she said.

"I don't get affected whether a film does well or it doesn't. But you do want your films to do well as you put in a lot of hard work," she added.

Her next is Deols' "Yamla Pagla Deewana 2", which is coming out June 7. Directed by Sangeeth Sivan, the film also stars Dharmendra as well as his two sons - Sunny and Bobby.

She nurtured the dream of being a fashion designer and acting just happened along the way.

"I always wanted to be a designer and I loved clothes and everything to do with it. When I got a Telugu film, it happened out of the blue ... at that point of time, I didn't realise how big it was. I really enjoyed my journey. Then I was like this was exactly what I want to do," she said.

High senior Sunday Swett was told that she had won the title. Yet it wasn’t an injury that befell her opponent, Nashua (N.H.) Bishop Guertin senior Briana Leonard. Rather, Leonard unilaterally decided to end the match because she was being heckled by the crowd.

Ladies and Gentlemen, we have a crowd-induced state champion. This may be a first.

“We had an unfortunate experience,” New Hampshire Interscholastic Activities Association Executive Director R. Patrick Corbin told the Nashua Telegrah. “I’ve never seen something like this at a tennis match.”

The forfeit occurred when Corbin attempted to shift the girls singles final to a different court at the conclusion of the first set, which Swett won 6-4. Yet, instead of heading to the new court, Leonard left the scene entirely, retreating to her car with her parents and driving home.

The elder Leonards told the Telegraph that their daughter was being persecuted by the crowd because she lives in Massachusetts and attends high school in New Hampshire.

“They were bullying her,” Karen Leonard told the Telegraph. “This has been going on for two years. They’ve wanted her out for two years because she’s not a New Hampshire girl. Because we live in Massachusetts.”

Regardless of where the family lives, Leonard’s own coach acknowledged that dealing with hostile crowds is an integral part of sports, even if he did feel that his athlete was facing a number of challenges in the final match of her prep career.

“Bri was heavily not the crowd favorite today,” Bishop Guertin coach Barry Ndynia told the Telegraph.

“But in sports that’s something you have to deal with. Some people will not cheer for you. They’ll cheer for your opponent. That’s why I was trying to keep her focused.”

As for Swett, the senior celebrated a title in her final match and told the Concord Monitor that the stunning forfeit would not take away from her contentment with the achievement.

MiKandi Releases Google Glass Porn App, Then Discovers It Can't Use 'Sexually Explicit Material'

MiKandi, the "world's first and largest adult app store," released the first ever porn app for Google Glass on Monday morning. A dozen people have signed up for the suggestively named "Tits And Glass" app and thousands have viewed the app's website, according to MiKandi CEO Jesse Adams.

But apparently MiKandi wasn't aware of changes Google recently made to its terms of service. In an update to its blog, MiKandi writes that it now has make changes to the app so it doesn't interfere with Google's ban on "Glassware content that contains nudity, graphic sex acts or sexually explicit material."

Google's change in policy underscores its efforts to fiercely control Glass' reputation before its public release. Glass' unobtrusive recording capabilities have sparked many privacy concerns. At least one strip club has already banned Glass, and Preeti Upadhyaya of the Silicon Valley Business Journal has raised concerns about sexual consent in the Glass-wearing world.

The ban on "sexually explicit" content may limit what MiKandi can show to Glass users, but the company's CEO is still optimistic: "We are going to have to be really creative," Adams told ABC News. "There are tasteful and artful things we can do."

Abercrombie Protesters' Plight Highlights Brand's 'Exclusionary' Attitude

Heather Arnet was escorted into the Abercrombie & Fitch headquarters in New Albany, Ohio, flanked by her contingent of 16 teenage girls. It was late 2005, and they were there to voice their discontent about a series of shirts that the company had unleashed on the market with text celebrating skinny blonde teenage girls while deriding brunettes and less-slender figures.

The shirts in question: “I had a nightmare I was a brunette,” “Blondes are adored, brunettes are ignored,” “Do I make you look fat?” and more.

Once inside, the group of protesters walked through a sea of cubicles and past towering images of men and women locked in embraces. The girls looked around in awe, wondering how strange it would be to work each day permanently surrounded by such images. Then, they entered a windowless conference room to plead their case that the fashion brand not demean people who do not fit its version of cool.

Arnet left convinced that their mission was futile.

“What we witnessed in that room that was so tangible was how deep the culture really is at Abercrombie,” said Arnet, reflecting on the experience nearly eight years later. “The only person who seemed empowered in that building was white and male.”

In recent weeks, Abercrombie has been thrashed by consumers, activists and the media for refusing to stock larger sizes for female customers and for controversial remarks made by chief executive officer Mike Jeffries in a resurrected interview with Salon in 2006. Jeffries said at the time that his brand targets the “attractive all-American kid,” forcing the company to issue an apology.

“A lot of people don’t belong [in our clothes], and they can’t belong,” he told Salon. “Are we exclusionary? Absolutely.”

For Arnet, the chief executive officer of a Pennsylvania-based independent advocacy group called the Women and Girls Foundation, the current controversy feels familiar. In an interview with The Huffington Post this week, she described her own efforts to persuade Abercrombie executives to reexamine their values as a new set of activists are now heading to New Albany to discuss the retailer’s latest brush with protesters.

Abercrombie does have women in powerful positions at the top of its corporate hierarchy. Three of the four executive vice presidents at Abercrombie are women, along with two of the nine members of the company’s board of directors.

“Diversity and inclusion are key to our organization’s success,” reads a quote from Jeffries on the Abercrombie website. “We are determined to have a diverse culture, throughout our organization, that benefits from the perspectives of each individual.”

But the way Arnet recalls her experience, that official message is quickly undermined by the reality inside the company’s headquarters: At her meeting, the men in the room did nearly all the talking, while dismissing the protestors as people who couldn't take a joke. The two women present sat mostly silent, Arnet said. After the meeting, Arnet took away a clear message: Abercrombie was not interested in broadening its consumer base to those deemed uncool.

“The girls tried to push them to say whether they would move forward with this idea for a girl-empowering line,” said Arnet. “The A&F team declined to say anything specific or committal.”

When a bat flies toward them in the stands, this man leaves his woman to fend for herself

A husband at a Chicago Cubs game a few weeks ago tried to protect his wife from a home run ball hit in their direction. He spilled his beer on her in the process, so afterward she poured her beer over his head. That's one example of what happens when a flying object comes between a man and his counterpart at a baseball game.

What happened Monday night in Anaheim is another, very different example. Cue up the above video and you'll see Houston Astros batter J.D. Martinez hit a foul ball and lose grip of his bat, which flies toward a couple sitting in the front row. The man, choosing flight over fight, bolts to the aisle for safety. The woman sticks her arms out to avoid the bat hitting her right in the noggin. She was OK, no thanks to her date.

She laughed afterward and no beers were poured over anyone's head in public, so maybe 'twas all good? We can't say for sure what happened, though, when the two left the game. Maybe the woman chewed him out for not being protective enough. Or maybe she agreed with his "every man (or woman) for him/herself philosophy."

The Internet of course has its own opinions and — as is usually the case when something like this happens — has declared chivalry dead. I'm probably not alone on this: I'd rather take a beer bath trying to help out a lady than be the guy mocked online for caring only about himself. Of course, a baseball bat wasn't flying at me as I wrote this.

Kendall Jenner Bikini Kim's Little Sister Looks All Grown Up In New Model Shots

Kendall Jenner is back in a bikini, but this time it's for her day job.

Jenner is now officially a bikini model for Agua Bendita, a popular Colombian swimsuit brand that has appeared in the pages of Sports Illustrated and Maxim magazines. The 17-year-old stunner joins the likes of Candice Swanepoel, Marisa Miller, Bar Refaeli and Irina Shayk who have all modeled for the line.

In the glamorous ad, Jenner dons a ruffled floral bikini on her famously fit figure. The blossoming model liked the shot so much she made it the background of her Twitter profile.

Just a few weeks ago the brunette beauty said it's her dream to become a Victoria's Secret Angel someday. Her modeling has already impressed some current Victoria's Secret supermodels, like Lilly Aldridge and Adrianna Lima.

"She's so stunningly beautiful and has so much personality. I think that she definitely could be a future Angel," Aldridge told Celebuzz about the "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" star. "Just keep doin' whatcha doin' girl, 'cause you're doin' it good."

Lima thinks Kendall is a bit too young right now, but maybe in two years she will be ready. "She's definitely a beautiful, beautiful girl," said Lima, "and she's very talented. So, why not?"

Heath Ledger's Joker Diary Surfaces In Footage From German Documentary Series

A fascinating new video that may provide a brush of insight into Heath Ledger prior to his death has surfaced. In it, Ledger's father leafs through a diary his son kept for the Joker while filming the now-iconic role in "The Dark Knight."

The diary is an extensive portrait of what Ledger thought the Joker's mentality looked like, complete with elaborate entries, drawings and magazine clippings. The actor included imagery that features everything from old Batman comics to "A Clockwork Orange" photos. As Ledger's father discusses the diary, the Oscar his son won posthumously for the role sits nearby on the table.

The footage turned up on Reddit and appears to be a clip from a year-old episode of the German docuseries "Too Young To Die." The segment was titled "Heath Ledger: Favorite of the Gods."

The elder Ledger says the actor, who died of an accidental overdose at 28, was famous for poring himself over his characters and that he "locked himself up in a hotel room for weeks" in order to inhabit the Joker.

Team Obama's entire Middle East policy has failed and the problem is about to get worse

The Benghazi Report has condemned the State Department for “systemic failures and leadership and management deficiencies.” Four officials have resigned, and a few more lesser heads are likely to roll.  Secretary Clinton may have said she takes full responsibility, but she has successfully managed to avoid taking the blame. With the holidays fast approaching, she and senior White House officials can now wash their hands of the matter.

But the Benghazi report misses the point.  The events of September 11 are a symptom of a much larger problem -- the Obama administration’s entire Middle East policy has failed. And the problem is about to get much worse as the as yet unpunished but ascendant Al Qaeda and its affiliates contemplate what they might do next to attack Americans.

Less than two years ago, the entire region was at peace. Granted, it was an uneasy peace, but it’s a region where for thousands of years an uneasy peace was as good as it gets.  Granted, many countries were governed by dictators, but at least they were pro-American dictators.  Granted, some countries continually railed against Israel, but none of them were actually in a fighting war with Israel.

Fast forward to today. Everything has changed. The entire region is in upheaval.  With our help, Egypt has replaced a pro-American dictator with what promises to be an anti-American Muslim Brotherhood dictator and Islamist constitution. We helped Libyan rebels topple their dictator, yet their new government is has failed to consolidate control. They are cowed by Al Qaeda affiliated militias and couldn’t - or wouldn’t - prevent the Benghazi attack and assassinations of our diplomats.  Syria’s vicious civil war threatens to go from horrific to hellish as Al Qaeda sympathizers and Islamic extremists take over the rebel cause, chemical weapons go missing, and the ethno-sectarian violence spills over to infect Syria’s neighbors and threaten our NATO ally Turkey.  Iran is on the cusp of becoming a nuclear power and the dominant power in the region.  Any hopes that a post-Saddam Iraq would be a pro-American ally have vanished as Iraq falls increasingly into the Iranian orbit.  We will end up fighting our way out of Afghanistan, as it descends into multiparty civil war once the last American soldier takes the last helicopter out.   At best, countries will be governed by the anti-American Muslim Brotherhood.  At worst, chaos will ensue. Political and economic chaos  are waiting in the wings, and radical Islamists, terrorists and Al Qaeda expand their influence throughout the region.

Fake Lesbians React To Real Lesbian Porn

Warning: The above video may contain language and images that are not suitable for workplace or other sensitive environments)
A recent viral video, Davey Wavey's "Real Lesbians React to Lesbian Porn", shows what happens when real lesbians watch lesbian porn that is clearly made for straight men.

Jincey Lumpkin, founder and Chief Sexy Officer of Juicy Pink Box (Warning: Link is highly NSFW), a company which produces upscale, high-quality porn for lesbians, wanted women to know there is an alternative.

“While most lesbian adult films are vulgar gay-for-pay porn made to fulfill the fantasies of straight men," says Lumpkin, who also regularly blogs for The Huffington Post. "Our films are seductive and beautifully crafted cinema made for women who crave intense sensuality, soft caresses, and gentle seduction.”

So, in response to the "Real Lesbians React to Lesbian Porn" video, Lumpkin decided to create her own video, "Fake Lesbians React to Real Lesbian Porn." The video features subjects who are obviously not lesbians -- and even a drag queen -- watching and commenting on the Juicy Pink Box lesbian porn they are viewing.

Why a drag queen? “I threw in a drag queen because I think anything in life is better with a drag queen in it,” says Lumpkin.

Undetectable HIV Is It Stigmatizing Gay Sex

As Tyler Curry, founder of Needle Prick Project, recently wrote:

"An HIV-positive person can achieve undetectable levels after undergoing antiretroviral therapy (ART). A level of a person's HIV viral load is what causes them to be more or less likely to transmit the disease. An undetectable viral load reduces the likelihood of transmission by 96 percent. Once a person achieves an undetectable status, it is possible to remain at this level provided that the person is compliant with their ART medication."

But does the label "undetectable" help or harm discussions around gay sex and HIV?

That’s the question HuffPost Gay Voices Editor Noah Michelson discussed with Curry, Gawker’s Rich Juzwiak and My Fabulous Disease blogger Mark King on HuffPost Live.

“HIV-positive sexuality is still slightly demonized and that’s why we have to have these conversations,” Curry noted. “We don’t exist in two separate groups … I am not in any way advocating for condomless sex in the least.”

Added King: “I think there is a very real viral divide among gay men … please get tested if you’re a sexually man or woman, gay or straight.”

The New Season of 'Arrested Development' is Hard to Take. Why?

A second life on Netflix has become a mixed blessing for the creators of "Arrested Development" -- an unprecedented option with some unexpected burdens. Yes, Mitchell Hurwitz and company have had to contend with sky-high expectations that are all but impossible to meet as they've brought the show back after seven years off the air. But they're also now working in a medium stripped of many of the boundaries that originally shaped the series.

Netflix isn't network TV, a fact that goes beyond all 15 episodes going live at once. Installments don't need to keep to 22 minutes, or even be all that episodic; content restrictions are a thing of the past -- as are, if what was said about "House of Cards" continues to be the case here, notes from executives. Aside from dealing with the not-inconsiderable difficulties of scheduling the busy cast, Hurwitz was theoretically freed to make the purest version of "Arrested Development" he desired, and the result is an uneven, funny, ambitious, overlong and knotty tangle of individual storylines that form a whole that's darker and more brittle than expected. The Bluths are back, but time has not been kind.

The new episodes haven't gone over well with critics so far -- though having only been out for a few days, opinions seem worth sitting on for a little longer. As someone who came to the show after it was first canceled, I'll admit that it took some time to grow on me even in its friendlier Fox incarnation. And season four is not friendly, which may be the most difficult and most remarkable thing about it.

It's not that the 2013 version of the Bluths are unrecognizable. "Arrested Development" is nothing if not consistent to its own mythology, which may include stair cars and Motherboy competitions, but is just as involved, intricate and layered as that of a sprawling sci-fi saga, with jokes set up for and called back over years. But, unleashed to pursue their individual destinies with the oblivious self-centeredness and without the edict to be "likable" that the show used to mock in its third-season moments of metacommentary, the Bluths are no longer lovably awful but mostly just awful. Cornball moments, little or otherwise, have pretty much been cleared out.

The new season finds the Bluths and the Fünkes literally whoring each other out for cash, guilting each other into buying homes they can't afford in the midst of a community of sex offenders, sleeping with underage boys and sending addicts crashing back into drug use while cheerfully ignoring their pleas for help. And while the first three seasons made occasional gestures toward timeliness, as when George Sr. (Jeffrey Tambor) was tricked into building houses in Iraq, in season four the Bluths are more linked into farcical takes on current events.

    Drafthouse takes Borgman

The tale of the Devil who enters the home of an arrogant middle-class family under the guise of a vagrant was the first Dutch film in Cannes competition in almost 40 years.

Drafthouse Films plans a US theatrical, VoD and digital release in 2014 and Films We Like in Toronto will handle Canadian distribution.

“Maybe once a year, I am deluged after a premiere with texts and emails to the effect of ‘this is such a Drafthouse movie,’” said Drafthouse Films founder and CEO Tim League, “It’s strange, disturbing, hysterical and utterly unique. Borgman is the quintessential Drafthouse film of Cannes. We can’t wait to share it with audiences in North America.”

The distributor finalised the deal with Winnie Lau of Fortissimo Films.

Tribeca Film has picked up North American rights from The Film Colony to mystery The Time Being starring Wes Bentley and Frank Langella and will release on VoD on Jul 23 followed by theatrical on Jul 26. The film premiered in Toronto last year.

Gagged Director Reveals Sex Movie Details

Lars von Trier is becoming an expert craftsman when it comes to titillating us with details of his highly anticipated upcoming movie "Nymphomaniac." The provocative director has now unveiled the titles of the eight chapters that will comprise the erotic movie's two parts.

    Chapter 1: "The Compleat Angler"
    Chapter 2: "Jerome"
    Chapter 3: "Mrs. H"
    Chapter 4: "Delirium"
Chapter 5: "The Little Organ School"
Chapter 6: "The Eastern and the Western Church (The Silent Duck)"
    Chapter 7: "The Mirror"
    Chapter 8: "The Gun"

The movie's website announces that more is to come on June 28.

Each of the eight chapters is slated to receive its own teaser, which will include a headline, film still and short narrative description, according to a statement released in conjunction with the chapter titles. These teasers will be printed in select newspapers across the world and on the movie's website during the months leading up to its release.

The statement also reveals that von Trier, who posted a photo of himself with a gag over his mouth, feels he is coining a new genre with "Nymphomaniac": digressionism, which he defines as "depart[ing] from the main subject."

Here's the full statement about von Trier's plans to continue to tease us mercilessly as we struggle to contain our anticipation for this movie. The text was accompanied with a photo of a gagged von Trier with tape over his mouth:

In 2011 Lars von Trier decided to refrain from all public statements and interviews. To this date he has kept his word.

But his stories are still being told worldwide and Nymphomaniac will be no exception.

Using a structure known from literature Nymphomaniac consists of chapters, encapsulating both VOLUME I and VOLUME II and during the next eight months, starting from June and like domino pieces counting down to the release, small bites of these chapters will be published exclusively by a community of selected newspapers around the world.

Each chapter teaser is defined by a headline, a still and a short narrative that playfully unveils the multilayered universe of Nymphomaniac with which Lars von Trier wants to introduce a new film genre: Digressionism.

In case you haven't already seen it, here's the movie's poster, which was unveiled earlier this month.

Deadly tornadoes touch down near Oklahoma City

Deadly tornadoes touched down Friday west of Oklahoma City, crumbling cars and tractor-trailers, trapping motorists and killing at least two.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol said troopers found the bodies of a mother and a child near a vehicle along Interstate 40 west of the city Friday.

The broad storm hit during the evening rush hour, causing havoc on I-40, a major artery connecting suburbs east and west of the city.

To the south, winds approaching 80 mph were forecast for Moore, where a top-of-the-scale EF5 tornado killed 24 on May 20. Meanwhile, at least 54,000 people were affected by power outages. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol also reported motorists injured or trapped in their cars in the Oklahoma City area while others were missing.

The National Weather Service issued a tornado emergency for the city's downtown, airport and several suburbs. The weather service issues an emergency if a storm with tornadoes is heading toward large metropolitan area. The warning covered Will Rogers World Airport in Oklahoma City, which was evacuated at 6:30 p.m. while staff and passengers were taken to an underground tunnel until the threat passed, and there were no flights inbound or outbound.

Floodwater collected in streets and troopers requested a number of ambulances at I-40 near Yukon, west of Oklahoma City.

"I'm in a car running from the tornado," said Amy Sharp, who last week pulled her fourth-grade daughter from the Plaza Towers Elementary School as a storm approached with 210 mph winds. "I'm in Norman and it just hit Yukon where I was staying" since last week's storm.

"I'm with my children who wanted their mother out of that town," Sharp said, her voice quivering with emotion.

Hail and heavy rain pelted the metro area to the point that emergency workers had trouble responding to reports of injuries.

Nicki Minaj Leaving 'American Idol' Along With Mariah Carey And Randy Jackson

Nicki Minaj is officially leaving "American Idol" after a season full of feuds, drama and outrageous outfits.

The news of Minaj's "American Idol" departure comes almost immediately after Mariah Carey announced she was leaving and about a month after Randy Jackson revealed he would be stepping down from the series after serving as a judge for 12 seasons.

Minaj told her Twitter followers she'd be focusing on her music now that she's leaving "Idol."

Fiesty judge Minaj was a controversial member of the "Idol" judges panel in Season 12, which saw Candice Glover win the top honor. And it wasn't only because of Minaj's beef with Carey -- many viewers didn't enjoy her judging style and she was constantly being blasted online.

Rumor has it Keith Urban won't be returning for Season 13 of "Idol" either.

"All four are gone," an insider told The Wrap earlier this month. "They feel they've lost their core audience and they want it back."

"I have no official information of anything," the country singer told the Associated Press earlier this week. "I'm pretty much in the same boat as everybody else here with the rumors that have been floating around. It was like this before I signed on ... so it's not unusual for the 'Idol' folks to be in this place of figuring out what they want to do, then they always pull it together."

So who will be judging "American Idol" Season 13? Vulture recently reported that Jennifer Hudson's deal to join the panel is "essentially done," while a source told The Wrap that "she got the offer and her reps are currently negotiating with [the show's production company] Fremantle."

Vulture had previously reported that Season 1 winner Kelly Clarkson had been approached about judging Season 13 of "American Idol" as well, while Adam Lambert and Clay Aiken's names were both in the mix. But don't expect to see Clarkson on the panel next year: A rep for the former champ told The Hollywood Reporter that she will not be judging Season 13.

Celebrity Bikini Bodies Over Age 50

Celebrities stripping down is hardly a new thing, but the growing number of women who proudly flaunt their bodies at older ages is. From actresses like Sharon Stone to former models like Christie Brinkley, these women continue to defy convention when it comes to age and beauty -- and blow our minds by how fabulous they look.
Below, a roundup of the best bikini bodies (and sometimes, bathing-suited bodies) over the age of 50.

'Machete Kills' Trailer Sofia Vergara, Lady Gaga, Mel Gibson & Charlie Sheen Made A Movie Together

"Machete Kills," Robert Rodriguez' sequel to "Machete," is a real movie and this is its real cast: Sofia Vergara, Jessica Alba, Lady Gaga, Mel Gibson, Danny Trejo, Michelle Rodriguez, Cuba Gooding Jr. and Charlie Sheen Carlos Estevez. Tommy Tune was presumably unavailable because of his duties on "Arrested Development."

Other than that, not much else to know about this one. Did you like the first "Machete"? Do you like Rodriguez' often charming mix of goofy, grindhouse ultra-violence and sneaky social commentary? Do you want to see what America would look like with Charlie Sheen acting as president? In that case, "Machete Kills" is your movie. Rodriguez and Trejo -- the title sharp object -- debuted the new "Machete Kills" trailer on Yahoo! En Espanol. Watch the trailer, with a Spanish-language introduction from Rodriguez and Trejo, above. The film is out in September.

Beyonce & Kelly Rowland Discussed 'Dirty Laundry' Before Song Was Released

Kelly Rowland's "Dirty Laundry" is an extremely emotional song that recounts the singer's many struggles, from domestic abuse to pangs of professional jealousy. Beyonce's to blame for the latter of those battles, as it seemed for some time that she -- not Rowland or Michelle Williams -- was the only singer to really deserve the title of Destiny's Child.

Time, however, heals some wounds: Rowland (with the help of The-Dream, who co-wrote the song) sings her way through that pain ("While my sister was on stage, killing it like a motherf--ker / I was enraged, feeling it like a motherf--ker / Bird in a cage, you would never know what I was dealing with / Went our separate ways, but I was happy she was killing it / Bittersweet, she was up, I was down"). In an interview with a Washington Radio station (via ContactMusic), Rowland reveals that she played the song for Beyonce and Williams before releasing it.

Beyonce's reaction is about what you'd imagine. "[She] was just like, 'I never left.' Which was so sweet. It was endearing. She heard how real I was and she was just like "I’m so proud of you.'"

And just "how real" is Rowland keeping it? Real enough to break down while performing the song at a concert in Washington D.C.

The trio have been spending quite a bit more time together lately (or, at least, their sound files have), as they recorded "You've Changed," another Rowland track that features Beyonce and Williams. Of course, they also reunited (very) briefly during Beyonce's Super Bowl halftime show.

House Built on North Carolina Landfill Has Sinking Feeling

Warren Salter's yard had yielded more problems than dandelions. Just inches below the surface, he's dug up glass, spark plugs, even the hood to an old truck.

Salter bought his house in Havelock, N.C., in 2001, but by 2003 he realized that something was wrong.

"Everybody's yard is dropping," Salter told ABC News. "What used to be flat land for the kids to play football in is now big sunken areas."

"Trees I planted about five years ago, now you look at them and they're tilted down hill toward where everything is sinking," he said.

The reason, he said, is because the neighborhood was built on an old landfill, one that Salter said was last used in the 1940s and 1950s. The city of Havelock began building out in the 1960s and Salter's home was constructed in 1973.

"My neighbor knew of the dump before this area was built out. He actually remembers where an old school bus is buried," said Salter. That bus in now believed to be under someone's backyard.

Salter told ABC News that he only has to dig inches in his yard to find traces of the dump like steel, glass or the truck hood.

Salter put a call in to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency in 2003 after he realized there was a problem, and they directed him to the North Carolina Division of Waste Management. He said the state conducted studies on the neighborhood around 2005. It was discovered during these inspections that some cavities, or land voids, are a mere two feet below the soil, believed to be caused by now decomposed garbage, he said.

"I get the feeling that it won't be long before I'm coming home, driving my truck up to my driveway and will sink right through," he said.

Neighbor Shannon Richards moved into her 1975 house in 2001 and learned about the landfill a year later.

"My problem is with my house settling. I have cracks in my drywall. I even have some doors that won't close anymore. A couple of years ago, I had a pipe that snapped. That was before we knew of the landfill...now I realize that was probably due to that," Richards said.

"My dog has pulled glass out of the backyard," she said.

Richards said the city of Havelock should be held somewhat responsible.

"[The city] issued the permits to the builders. We'd like for them to come in and properly clean it up. If they can't do that, we'd like for them to buy us out," she said.

Havelock city attorney Warden Smith told ABC News that a city meeting is scheduled for June 10, but Salter and his neighbors may find it a bit "anticlimactic."

"As a practical matter, the meeting on the 10th is simply for our office to report the board of commissioners our findings...for these citizens, it may be a fairly disappointing meeting," Smith said.

"My answer as the city attorney is that the city of Havelock has no liability at all," Smith said. "It wasn't done on their watch."

Smith explained that the landfill and the dumping predated the establishment of the city. He said, "Private property owners will have to deal with it themselves."

Neurons Caught in Action Zebrafish Brain Filmed While Firing Signals

It’s the brain like never seen before. A group of researchers – Misha Ahrens, neurobiologist, and Phillipp Keller, microbiologist from Howard Hughes medical Institute’s Janelia Farm Research Campus, have been able to see individual neurons firing in the brain of a larval zebra-fish, recording activities across the entire fish brain.

They have mapped the exact firing pattern for 80% of the 100,000 neurons in the brain, suggesting that, should an upscaling of this mapping be done, the human brain might finally be in the imaging line.

The imaging technique is ingenious, but theoretically simple. The researchers created genetically modified zebrafish, so that the neurons make a protein which fluoresces when there is a change in the concentration of the calcium ions. Calcium ion concentrations change when a neuron fires, meaning that there will be a small fluorescence when a neuron fires.

Now, a thin sheet of light was sent through the brain and this captures any optical activity in the brain and then records it on a screen. This imaging technique is called ‘light-sheet microscopy’ and the Janelia team was able to upgrade it count at a rate tenfold its original rate. The entire brain of the larval fish was mapped every 1.3 seconds. One whole experiment lasted for 10 hours, generating as much a few terabytes of data.

Ahrens commented on his pet method, explaining why it is so much better than conventional techniques. Available techniques allow one to image at most 2000 neurons at one go, but this one can see the entire circuitry in the brain. As Ahrens puts it:

Could Parasitic Worms Treat Obesity Related Disease?

Chalk this story up in the “eww gross” category. You know those pesky little parasitic worms that we humans try so hard to avoid? Well, it turns out those little parasites may be more helpful to humans than once thought. A study published recently in Nature Medicine has revealed that these dreaded creatures may indeed play a role in preventing obesity related metabolic disorders. The research was done by a team from the University of Georgia, the Harvard School of Public Health, the Université François Rabelais in Tours, France, and the Central South University, Changsha, Hunan, China.
    Hookworms

In a University of Georgia press release, Donald Harn, Georgia Research Alliance Distinguished Investigator in the UGA College of Veterinary Medicine’s Department of Infectious Diseases said, “Prevalence of inflammation-based diseases is extremely low in countries where people are commonly infected with worms… But the minute you start deworming people, it doesn’t take too long for these autoimmune diseases to pop up”. The researchers hypothesized that this might be a result of sugar-based molecule called glycan, which is excreted by these parasitic worms. This molecule helps protect the worms from our body’s immune defenses which in turn, reduces the amount of inflammation present in the tissues that surround them. Apparently, this reduction in inflammation also helps the human host. Harn and his fellow researchers believe this may have implications for treating all sorts of metabolic disorders.

The researchers tested their theory on mice. They fed a control group a high fat diet and the other group they fed a glycan sugar diet. Both groups gained weight, bu the control group experienced all of the common problems that come with obesity such as, insulin resistance and high triglycerides. The mice on the special sugar diet did not experience the negative health effects in spite of their increased weight.
