  • Ashton Kutcher: Greatest Wingman Ever!

Ashton Kutcher is off the market himself, but he still can try to hook up his bros.
The Two and A Half Men star hit San Diego this weekend with a bunch of guy pals, including Danny Masterson, Eric Balfour and Michael Pena.
The boys hit Fluxx nightclub on Friday night, where they drank Ketel One and Patron and checked out the female talent at the hot spot.
But none of the ladies was good enough for Ashton's friends...

    Afternoon Bitch-Back! What’s a Poor, Put-Upon Angel to Do?

Critics agree Minka Kelly's acting in Charlie's Angels is abyssmal. So did she get the gig by encouraging a few "ass slaps" on her road to TV series headliner? Was she really a nurse or just some kind of glorified assistant?
    —dog8dissertation

    Dear Wow:
A show that's clearly meant to be just a chick-filled homage to all the other pretty chick-filled versions of Angels (the original of which, mind you, was never heralded for its acting achievements) and you're aiming a sexist, snob-harpoon straight at poor Minka? We think she does fine at the job for which she was hired. She also does an even better job off-camera with those reported bitch-slap stories! Also, I don't believe Minka's claims that she was a surgical nurse at one time have been uncovered, as yet, as a sinister lie. Perhaps that detective work's going to have to be yours, dog. Good luck.

    Dear Ted:
Forget Lea Michele and Cory Monteith or Lea Michele and Darren Criss getting together, now that she's single... What about Lea and Dianna Agron? Or do the ladies not swing towards the same sex?

    Dear Good One:
Love the way you think, N, but, unfortunately, I don't believe Lea and Dianna have similar thoughts (at least, not publicly). Both ladies love to get it on with the guys. And as right-on as both gals have been regarding gay rights—Dianna, in particular—I think this gal-on-gal get-together will have to come about as a Glee dream, or something.

    Dear Ted:
Tell me, is the delish Jon Hamm one of your famous Vicers?

    Dear Dammit:
No. Now, this doesn't mean yummy Jon hasn't been the subject of some major juicy gossip, but, unfortunately it's mostly the result of some of Jon's colleagues being so frustrated he doesn't give them enough to talk about in real life. Get it?

Bikini Battle of the Day: Nicole Richie vs. Ashlee Simpson

Both Nicole Richie and Ashlee Simpson showed off a little skin south of the border this weekend as they strutted their stuff in some skimpy swimwear.
Mother-of-two Richie, who just turned 30, proved that age is nothing but a number while sporting a black-two piece during a girls' getaway in Los Cabos with a few friends, including Samantha Ronson and Juliette Lewis.

Meanwhile, Simpson could be seen in a black polka-dot bikini as she lounged poolside in Cabo San Lucas.
While son Bronx wasn't around, it was still a bit of a family affair, with her dad Joe and sister Jessica on hand. Also lounging around? Simpson's new man Vincent Piazza.
And get this. At one point over the weekend, these two lovely ladies actually met up for a little lunch. Hey, when you're both in the same general area, why not?
All of this, of course, leads to the most important question of all: Who looks better in a bikini? Sound off in the comments!

Indian GP to cash in on cricket fatigue

After years of steady patronage, corporate India is showing signs of cricket fatigue and the country's maiden Formula One race next month looks like being the immediate beneficiary

Indian companies have long loosened the purse strings for cricket while responding frugally to other sports, ensuring the cricket board remains a rare national federation that does not accept government grants. "My feeling is that it's going to change, at least for motorsport," Mahindra and Mahindra marketing and automotive senior vice president Vivek Nayar told Reuters.

"You have the most prestigious motorsport event coming to India next month and I know there will be a change in perception after Oct 30 (race day)." Nayar's company will supply the official intervention and support vehicle to the Buddh International Circuit, helping transport marshals around the track. The 2010 world championship enjoyed a 527 million global television audience but Formula One is seen in India as a niche sport, followed primarily by youngsters.

That is precisely the segment Indian telecom giant Bharti Airtel was looking for, said CEO (India and South Africa) Sanjay Kapoor. "We wanted to establish the brand as pro-youth and dynamic. After all, 65 percent of our population is below the age of 30," Kapoor said after his company bagged the title sponsorship, reportedly at a price of $8.5 million (5.37 million pounds) for a three-year period. "Formula One is very relevant at this juncture when we are trying to transform our business and trying to be a global brand. It fits very well with our overall strategy."

That strategy has meant dropping a high-profile cricket tournament like the Champions League Twenty20. Airtel has turned its back on a title sponsorship midway through a five-year deal they had landed in 2009, reportedly for $40 million."While creating the right mix, some of the old sponsorships would get dropped and some new would come in. It's part of man

Interview: Ian Albiston, Project Manager-Ferrari, Shell

Ever since 1947 Shell Helix has been developing racing fuel and lubricants in technical partnership with Scuderia Ferrari. This 60 year dream partnership has had a direct impact on the performance of the Ferrari Formula One Team. In a candid discussion with Ian Albiston, Vikram Gour got a chance to gain an insight on the Shell-Ferrari partnership as well as understand the world of Formula One through the oil filled eyes of Shell.

ZW: Firstly, with the Indian inaugural GP just around the corner, has there been any need to fine tune the fuel and lubricant mixture for Indian conditions? The Indian environment is rather dusty when compared to European circuits.

Ian: Actually we don’t need to do any special development for Indian conditions. Our lubricants are developed for extreme conditions and are put through simulations of the track well in advance. Having said that, we technically could work out separate mixtures for various circuits, however each fuel mix would have to be approved by the FIA beforehand. Also, coping with separate mixes could lead to other complications, namely the creation of a third mixture! You see, if I have two fuels approved by the FIA, however I end up finishing the first drum and then I use some from the second drum and it’s a different mix, the fuel in the car will be a combination of the first and second mixture which wouldn’t be FIA approved and this could lead to the team suffering a heavy penalty in terms of a fine or even worse, they could be disqualified from the race.

To avoid such situations, and since the fuel is regulated by the FIA, where they test the fuel before and after a race, we take no chances and use a well developed fuel for an entire season.

ZW: What are the logistics involved in transporting the fuel and lubricants to various races?

Ian: Discussions for the races happen at least three months prior to the event. Each country has its own lead time and since timing is critical we have a dedicated team to handle product logistics. In the case of India, all the products for the Ferrari Team left the United Kingdom on the 30th of August due to India’s custom regulations; we had to ensure we get the fuels out ahead of time and passed through customs in order to be well in time for the race.

Oscar organisers lay down new rules 'to stop wooing voters'

Oscars organisers have laid down new rules which will ban voters from attending parties organised by film companies after nominations are announced on 24th January, ahead of the Academy Awards, to discourage wooing voters.

Academy president Tom Sherak has said that the rules will help in “protecting the integrity of the awards process” and to preserve “the distiction of the Oscars”.

The voters will be allowed to attend screenings by actors and will be permitted to watch copies of eligible films in their own homes.

“Above all, we want Academy members to see movies as they were meant to be seen, in a theatrical setting,” the BBC quoted him as saying.

The Academy also announced that a long-standing ban on negative campaigning against films and actors had been extended to social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter, and members could be expelled from the organisation if they violated this rule more than once.

Strong 6.4-magnitude earthquake jolts the Pacific Ocean near Tonga

A strong earthquake struck off the Pacific island nation of Tonga on early Friday afternoon, seismologists said, but there were no immediate reports of damage or casualties.

The 6.4-magnitude earthquake at 12.07 p.m. local time (2300 GMT Thursday) was centered about 50 kilometers (31 miles) northeast of Niuafo'ou, a volcanic rim island with a population of around 600 people. It struck about 9.8 kilometers (6.1 miles) deep, making it a shallow earthquake, according to the United States Geological Survey (USGS).
There were no immediate reports of damage or casualties, but the USGS estimated that people on Niuafo'ou may have felt moderate shaking which could potentially result in light damage. Some 55,000 people on islands farther away may have felt light shaking.
As earthquakes below magnitude 7 do usually not generate tsunamis, no tsunami warning was issued by the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center.
Tonga is on the so-called 'Pacific Ring of Fire', an arc of fault lines circling the Pacific Basin that is prone to frequent and large earthquakes. Volcanic eruptions also occur frequently in the region, which is one of the most geologically active parts in the world.
Tonga, with a population of around 104,000 people, is made up of 169 islands sprinkled over the Pacific Ocean about one-third of the way from New Zealand to Hawaii. Only thirty-nine of the islands are inhabited.
On September 29, 2009, an 8.1-magnitude earthquake struck 185 kilometers (115 miles) east-northeast of Hihifo on Tonga, unleashing giant tsunamis that killed nearly 200 people and injured hundreds more on Tonga, American Samoa, Samoa, and other nearby islands.

Billion people undernourished worldwide: Red Cross report

About a billion people worldwide were undernourished in 2010, primarily due to poverty and 'failure' of global food system, says the 'World Disasters Report 2011' released by the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) on Thursday in New Delhi.

'World Disasters Report 2011' highlights the alarming levels of malnutrition in Asia, resulting to possible instability in many countries. The report also mentions that while 15% of world's proportion sleeps hungry every night, 30% of all food crops get wasted annually. The report also mentions that the United States of America has the highest prevalence of obesity- 26.7 per cent of the adult population....

Michael Jackson's daughter Paris sleeps with dad's jacket on her pillow

Deceased pop king Michael Jackson's daughter Paris sleeps with one of her dad's jackets on her pillow, as she never wants the smell of her dad to go away.

Michael's mother Katherine, who is also the guardian for the late singer's three kids has revealed that Paris insisted on one clothing item worn by her dad as she does not want to let go off his scent to ever.

"She took a pillow and one of his jackets, and said, 'I don't want a jacket that's been cleaned. I want something with his scent on it.' She put the jacket over the pillow and she breathes it. It's still there," Contactmusic quoted the late pop legend's mother as saying.

"I don't ever want it cleaned. He's worn it and it smells of him and I don't ever want the smell to go away," Katherine quoted Paris as saying.

Katherine believes that Michael's kids would turn out to be "just like him", especially Paris who wants her wall filled up with her dad's pictures.
