Hordes of Britney Spears concertgoers cheered and chanted along as the pop star kicked off her Femme Fatale tour in Sacramento, Calif., Thursday night, but before she took the stage, the singer had some special support from her No. 1 fan.
Boyfriend of two years (and her former agent) Jason Trawick was at her side backstage, giving the costumed Spears an apparent good luck-hug in a photo she Tweeted before dominating the Power Balance Pavilion.
"It's Opening Night B–––!" she wrote.
Spears, 29, launched the show with her hit, "Hold It Against Me," bringing the glitz and the glam in her Zaldy Goco-designed ensembles.
"Can't sleep," she Tweeted after the show. "WAY too much Adrenaline right now. Sacramento was on fire tonight."
Critics seemed to share her excitement about the tour, which hits San Jose, Calif., Saturday night. "The night belonged to Britney," a Rolling Stone review read. Calling it her flashiest show yet, the report continued: "The pop star whose career seemed in danger of ending just a couple years ago has shown that she's back – hopefully this time to stay."
After his alleged two-year crime spree, the Barefoot Bandit finally had his day in court.
Colton Harris-Moore, 20, pleaded guilty to seven federal charges, including burglarizing a bank, possessing a firearm as a fugitive, stealing an airplane and piloting an airplane without a license, in U.S. District Court on Friday.
Under the plea deal, Harris-Moore will serve up to 7½ years in prison and pay more than $1.4 million in restitution to crime victims, using proceeds from a film deal in the works. Any additional earnings from books, speeches or other publicity must be paid in restitution as well. Sentencing is scheduled for Oct. 28.
The Washington-state native earned his nickname – and notoriety – for allegedly committing numerous property crimes while barefoot.
Harris-Moore's reported crime spree led to a two-year manhunt, which ended in a dramatic high-speed boat chase in the Bahamas last July.
Just six weeks after their April wedding, the honeymoon is over for LeAnn Rimes and Eddie Cibrian – at least in terms of their work schedules.
With a new TV series for him and a new album and acting roles for her, this summer will be no vacation for the newlyweds.
"We both have a lot going on," Rimes, 28, tells PEOPLE. "We've got a lot to juggle!"
This wasn't the original plan when the couple planned their wedding. Instead, they anticipated a work-free month, says Rimes.
But then, happily, NBC picked up Cibrian's pilot for the retro '60s series The Playboy Club, to debut this fall, and the start date for Rimes's CMT-movie Reel Love was pushed forward.
"We got married on a Saturday, and I left on a Tuesday to go start filming," says Rimes. "So we kind of jumped right into work."
With Rimes now on tour to promote her new music and Cibrian returning to TV, the two are "learning to roll with it" by visiting each other on weekends – and getting out of Dodge for Cibrian's birthday. (He turned 38 on June 16.)
"It's kind of cool to see both of our careers be on the upswing at the same time," says the proud wife. "We'll have years where we don't have as much to juggle, and we'll have years like this when it's kind of crazy … But things are good, and we're very, very happy."
Just a couple weeks after Alec Baldwin and Russell Brand Tweeted a photo of themselves in costume for their upcoming flick, 'Rock of Ages,' co-star Tom Cruise has done the same.
Early Friday, the 'Jerry Maguire' actor Tweeted a pic of himself in character as fictional heavy metal star Stacee Jaxx in the big-screen adaptation of the hit Broadway musical. Cruise, 48, sports long hair, skintight pants and lots of tattoos.
In the film, he sings Bon Jovi's famous hit, 'Wanted Dead or Alive.' And the director reveals he's got a good voice. "He can sing!" Adam Shankman told E! News earlier this year. "It's a miracle!"
The all-star cast of 'Rock of Ages' also includes Julianne Hough, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Malin Akerman and Mary J. Blige.

After the story broke that Arnold Schwarzenegger fathered a love child with his housekeeper, Mildred Baena, she and her 13-year-old son went into hiding -- hoping to wait out the media storm that followed. But now, Baena is ready to tell her side of the story, admitting that she is just as guilty for the adulterous affair as her former boss.
But Baena, 50, didn't always know that her son, Joseph, belonged to 'The Terminator.' Although, she had her suspicions when the young boy began to resemble his Austrian father.
"It was as Joseph grew and I started to see the resemblance that I wondered -- but it became more apparent as time went on," Baena told Hello! magazine. "I knew Arnold was the father, and maybe as Joseph got older and began to look like him, [Arnold] wondered. But he never said anything to me."
Unfortunately it wasn't only Schwarzenegger and Baena that had suspicions that their affair could have resulted in a child. The former governor's wife, Maria Shriver, alluded to Baena that she also noticed the similarities between Joseph and his biological father, her husband.
"She would say things like, 'I'm here if you need to talk,'" Baena recalls. "Finally, she asked point blank. Maria asked me directly if Joseph was Arnold's son, and I just broke down. I dropped to my knees and I was crying, saying that yes he was and I was so sorry."
But Baena was not confronted with your average rage-filled wife, having just discovered that her husband classically cheated on her with the family's housekeeper of twenty years.
"She was so strong," Baena said. "She cried with me and told me to get off my knees. We held each other and I told her it wasn't Arnie's fault, that it takes two."
Although the news was difficult for Shriver to digest, Baena's son had a much different reaction. When she explained to him, at the age of 13, that Schwarzenegger was his biological father, Joseph simply responded, "Cool."
